My second favourite chickpea food also comes from Persian Empire Pastries. It's these tiny adorable cookies. They're very soothing when my guts get in a rage.

Actually, lavashak even has a little bit of citric acid added to make it more tart. :D

I do tooooo, but it usually doesn't love me. My main employer gives herself fits trying to cook for me, because of course you can't NOT feed your friends. XD

Gotcha. I don't really taste fish when I eat the seaweed. I taste the salt and the oil. But then my favourite fishes are salmon and pickerel. I guess they taste different.

I love noodles of any kind. IIRR, the udon noodles don't like me. :/ Even when I get the gluten free kind.

Oh right! This was just the beginning of a correspondence, wasn't it?

Kaderin Triste 01-21-2022 03:47 PM

Oooh, chickpea cookies? Interesting! I need to cook more.

Awww, it's gotta be tough to cook for people with a lot of restrictions, but I love that she tries. <3

Yeah, I might give the seaweed another shot tonight and see if I can appreciate the taste more. It's definitely a unique flavor that I just don't have much experience with outside of vegetarian sushi about once a year so...

Awww. There must be something else in the udon that causes the issues. I wonder what it could be. But noodles in general are good.

Hehehe....yep! I already have the next box packed up, though if something I saw at Joann is still there next week, I may have one more minor addition before I send the next box of yarn.
I'd add snacks, but idk what you could have or would want. I think 90% of the reviews of American snack foods I've seen, most people agree that our snacks are kinda garbage. Lol.

Tam I am 01-21-2022 03:58 PM

Yes! They're something like good soft shortbread. They literally melt. The baker says they're hard to make, but they're so nice, and have saved me from IBS attacks so many times. The baker even keeps some in his fridge at the market for me, so I have them if I get sick when I'm there.

Me too. The lady is a wonderful cook!

Make yourself some rice, add a tiny bit of vinegar or pickle juice, and then eat it with the seaweed? I can remember being daunted by new flavours, but now I'm kind of a garbage can that will eat anything that I can get away with.

Yeah, I've wondered if it's the preserving agent, or just the stuff it's made from. But yes. Noodles are soooo lovely. :D XD What's Derpy think of noodles?

Ohh, should I feel apprehensive?
Wow. I'll have to bring that fact up the next time someone tries spouting off at me that the USA is better than Canada in every way. XD

That big green ball of yarn you sent me (minty pale colour) looks like it's going to be a herd of baby mushroom sprites and several troll garments. The green and purple yarn is becoming a cat for a young girl who just lost her grown brother.

I mean, they're not wrong.

Tam I am 01-23-2022 02:24 PM

I liked that peanut thing Den sent me once, but now peanuts make me sick.

Den 01-25-2022 07:50 PM

peanuts get stuck between the teeth I'm missing and the ones I have left, so I really don't enjoy them anymore.

Tam I am 01-25-2022 09:06 PM

Awww. Yeah, they make my lower intestine feel like it's been skinned alive. And give me hives.

Den 01-27-2022 10:40 PM

That sounds like an allergy, tbph

Tam I am 01-28-2022 09:47 PM

Yeah, my immune system's weird.

KittyBeary 01-30-2022 05:58 AM

I don't eat peanuts often, they're alright but I prefer them as peanut butter ;w; I just like other nuts as a snack more than peanuts

Stabbsworth 02-05-2022 08:16 PM

chocolate coated peanuts are fucking delicis

This is basically me too. Though I generally don't snack on nuts at all. Except occasionally on road trips.

Tam I am 02-07-2022 10:29 PM

For me, some dry roasted chickpeas make a quick "shut up belly, I'm busy!" meal. LOL

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09RRW6WW1

The book I was on the launch team for. I get a signed paperback copy for payment.

Kaderin Triste 02-09-2022 02:08 PM

I need to get my kitchen cleaned up soon and make a whole bunch of stuff. Roasted chickpeas included.

Gotta start making and sticking to some after work task lists. Nothing too big, just like 3 or 4 things to accomplish in the 4 hours between getting home and going to bed.
XP
Update: am starting my task lists nothing big just like 1 thing I should be doing nightly (scooping the litter boxes tbh...don't think I let them go for weeks or anything I just let depression win too often and sometimes skip them for a day or two, which I'm working to be better about not doing) and then 2 other small tasks like a quick load of laundry in my bathtub (my clothes don't get too bad so I can usually just do small loads of them in my bathroom just for my weekly use) or taking out yhe trash or painting my nails, etc.

Tam I am 02-10-2022 12:31 AM

Youcandoit, Kaderin!

...Says the woman who's usually half asleep by eight o'clock, but won't stay asleep if I go to bed then. And whose floor is covered in heaps of stuff.

Oh, Custard's waving hi to Derpy and co. She got a little visit out of the packing box today.

Kaderin Triste 02-10-2022 04:52 PM

Almost immediately forgot my mini to do list last night in favor of reading. XP
But did do it.
It can definitely be a challenge to get and stay motivated to do cleaning.

Awww hi Custard! Derpy says hi too and sends hugs!

Tam I am 02-10-2022 08:44 PM

Well, the heaps were because of not having anywhere to put stuff yet.

Custard: Mom's sad. She stressed the landlady out complaining about the neighbours being noisy all night, and now she's being autistic and hiding inside herself. :/

Kaderin Triste 02-18-2022 03:23 PM

Awwww maybe hugs from Custard would be helpful! And hopefully the noisy neighbor situation gets resolved!
Lol sorry to reply so late. Got sidetracked. XP

Also had a very anxiety inducing incident this morning. Picked up coffee this morning for a coworker and myself only to find out that my card was expired. The poor employee was really sweet about it and said it was on her and not to worry about it, but my anxiety wouldn't let that stand so I went back and paid for it on my lunch break.
I was mortified. I honestly didn't know the card was expired because it worked last week and I haven't been sent a new one yet.
>.> probably gonna avoid that coffee place for a while now out of sheer embarrassment...

Tam I am 02-18-2022 10:57 PM

Custard's having a party in one of the soft dolly bins with the other kids that are in there. I think she's having a blast getting to know everyone, since she was sitting with just a few others before. XD I showed her to my friend the other day, and she thought she was cute.

Sidetracks happen. *hug*

Awwwww. *more hug* They really need to email big notices about expirings.

Kaderin Triste 02-21-2022 11:47 AM

Awwww Custard's making all the new friends!

Yeah, unfortunately sidetracks are super easy for me right now as I'm working 2 jobs for a total of 45 hours per week and only one full day off to "recover" except for weeks with holidays. Then I get 2 days off usually.

Email wouldn't have helped me probably as the email address it would have gone to is my "junk" email so I don't check it super often, but a reminder in the credit card's app would have been nice.

Anyway, enough about me. How have you been doing?

Tam I am 02-21-2022 10:33 PM

Yuuuup! I think she's having a blast.

Awwww. So today, you got an extra day off? I know it's a long weekend in Canada and USA.

No joke.

Me? Being threatened with MORE debt from the subsidized housing place that I just moved away from.

Kaderin Triste 02-23-2022 03:24 PM

Er..not exactly, no. So it's kinda tricky to explain but basically, since switching to a full time position at the library, I work Joann on Mondays and the only guaranteed days off there are Thanksgiving and Christmas day.

BUT because the library job is through the city, if a federal holiday falls on your day off, you are still given the holiday hours and get a different day off (typically the next day you would work). So normally that would mean I was off on Tuesday but we're short-staffed and if I had Tuesday off there would have been no one to help work the closing shift, so I get Thursday off this week instead.

Also, I know why the US had a long weekend, but why did Canada?

Awwww what? That's dumb and they better calm the heck down about all that! Like...you moved out, what the heck are they even trying to charge for?

Stabbsworth 02-24-2022 09:42 AM

well, i have a job now.

also hi, i was inactive for a long time lmao.

idk why the hell they'd charge you for simply moving out of an assisted-living place, tam. that's the weirdest fucking thing i've seen in a while.

Tam I am 02-24-2022 09:28 PM

Gotcha, Kaderin!
It was Family Day. A recently made up joke of a holiday.
Well, it turns out they're only charging for the hole someone poked in the wall moving a couch out. If the front entry were better designed, every person who moves furniture out wouldn't be poking holes in that wall.

Stabsworth, yay, job! And it wasn't really assisted living, just assisted rent. The charges were for having to clean up after me if I didn't clean the place.

Stabbsworth 02-24-2022 09:36 PM

it's mostly working for this site lmao. i gotta pixel shit. expect like. a whole ton of commons soonish.

though, the income from working for here isn't exactly the most stable, it's still something, i guess? i'll have to do my own taxes, which will be a pain in the ass. i might have to ask my older brother how he does his bc my dad tends to fudge the numbers and such.

Tam I am 02-24-2022 09:42 PM

Ah, it's something! I'm a floating fallback worker/general promoter and gossiper at the nearby farmers market. Seasonal and occasional income to add to the AISH (disability).

Stabbsworth 02-24-2022 09:46 PM

i might be able to get on disability for my depression depending on how the work capability assessment goes.
i also have to see about seeing a specialist for ADHD, since i scored just under the diagnosable threshold of ADHD, y'know? i think it was something like 46 points.

it's probable that it's autism but presents as ADHD symptoms, which is wild.

Tam I am 02-25-2022 11:15 AM

Oh, it's pretty common for autism to be diagnosed as ADHD, because the latter is more known, and because they think they can medicate for that one. Must "cure" everything, don't you know? Even when it actually doesn't need it. </end rant>

Stabbsworth 02-25-2022 11:16 AM

shrugs. i reckon it might be adhd, everyone else reckons it might be autism.

if i do get to see a specialist and put on meds, then we'll know as to whether or not it's adhd or autism by whether or not they work.

Tam I am 02-25-2022 11:21 AM

Autism IS slightly "stylish" right now, just because more people are hearing about it. I saw a thing online that pointed out the differences, but I can't remember where to find it right now.

Stabbsworth 02-25-2022 11:29 AM

this is why i need to see a specialist that can tell the difference lmao.
one thing of note is that i was always fidgeting as a kid.

also i have texture issues and usually stick to the same foods (safe foods). it's why i can't really stand mushrooms.

Tam I am 02-27-2022 12:13 AM

But one person's fidgeting can be an autistic kid's stimming.

Texture... yeah. I like the taste of liver, but save me from that texture.

Stabbsworth 02-27-2022 10:07 AM

my mother can't stand liver lmao.

my auditory processing is absolute shite. no wonder why i prefer using text to communicate.

Tam I am 02-28-2022 09:00 PM

Personally, I actually would rather avoid liver from animals I don't know the life history of. It absorbs things.

I spend a lot of time when I'm at work going, "Huh? Oh!"

Stabbsworth 03-01-2022 12:21 PM

yeah, makes sense.

and that's why i can't talk on a VC very often because one of my ears is blocked + plain bad auditory processing.

Tam I am 03-01-2022 10:36 PM

Remind me what VC is?

I just blew out my eardrums as a kid with untreated asthma. Coughed too hard.

Stabbsworth 03-02-2022 10:53 AM

voice chat.

oh, god, i bruised my ribs one time by coughing too hard. hurt like a bitch.

good news, i got declared limited capability for work or looking for work by the DWP. i now get extra money and can probably help with supporting the site. :]

now, how come this worked for me, but not my older brother, who is considerably more disabled than i am?

Kimmi-Chan 03-02-2022 02:47 PM

*randomly poofs into hangout thread* Hello all~ ^-^ I'm a bit new so don't mind me~

Stabbsworth 03-02-2022 02:49 PM

hello a bit new so don't mind me!
i'm dad.

i legally had to make the joke. i am very sorry.

Kimmi-Chan 03-02-2022 03:24 PM

XD Wow Stabbsworth really? XD I love it anyway.
