I love rods, so underrated.

Tam I am 03-12-2014 03:59 PM

With the 'Beast Wars', I cheat. I own the entire series on disk.

Lawtan 03-12-2014 04:06 PM

Ahh...
Shadow Raiders (I don't think) ever made it to DVD...and ReBoot only got released on DVD recently...
But the entire series of Shadow Raiders is on YouTube...

Tam I am 03-12-2014 04:12 PM

*nod nod* I'm watching it on YouTube right now. Well, not RIGHT now. But I watched five episodes yesterday. LOL Watched the first season of Reboot when it came out on TV. Was just come to the city then, and had this black and white TV that barely picked up stations. LOL

Lawtan 03-12-2014 04:13 PM

Yay!
<3 Tekla

XD She sure seems different from Jade so far. But boy, in Jade you can see the hard gungho woman that was the style when the show came out.

You can think of them more as wands or staves (yes, I realize that was a joke, but the point still stands). Depending on the deck, the concepts are interchangeable.

Also, I wholeheartedly encourage discussions around tarot, because it's absolutely fascinating (even if I don't believe in it). Yes, I'm naturally drawn to esoteric pedantry and things which are vastly open to interpretation.

And... on the other recent topic, I really have absolutely nothing to say. I had a friend a long time ago who watched shows like that, so I caught them from time to time, but I really don't remember much. They never attracted my attention (yeah, I was pretty pretentious as a pre-teen, too).

Lawtan 03-12-2014 05:16 PM

Those in particular replaced my "childhood cartoons" - hence why I know more about them.

O.O

Esoteric stuff is under my research...but there are so many...blargh...sites on it.

Here's one for free then: the Nag Hammadi Library, a collection of apocryphal Abrahamic scriptures. The Apocryphon of John is particularly interesting to read, and actually relatively short and (somewhat) easy to understand. Of course, "easy to understand" when talking about apocryphal, gnostic scripture is... highly subjective. (It is esoteric, after all.)

As an actual paperback book, by the way, Elaine Pagel's The Gnostic Gospels is extremely interesting. (I actually carry it with me at almost all times if I'm outside of the house, which is probably more than a little bit strange.)

Lawtan 03-12-2014 05:36 PM

*Cheers*
Thank you!!!

*goes to skim over it for future reading*

Tam I am 03-12-2014 05:47 PM

LOL Solucet, I think a lot of kids want to be grown up and not be watchin' the silly 'toons. Then some of us get old, and decide we wanna be kids when we grow up (like me).

Oh, I totally understand. I'm just inexorably drawn to just about... well, anything else. I mean, I watched cartoons and such as a kid, but that quickly faded into watching foreign art house films and reading the juvenile equivalent of transgressive fiction. I just never had that desire to revisit childhood, I guess.

Seriously, I just really have nothing to add to that conversation, so don't mind me -- didn't mean to veer things off track.

Lawtan 03-12-2014 06:04 PM

...We had a track?

I sort of am all over the place...as are a few (okay, to different degrees, everyone) here on Trisphee.

*offers Solucet a nice chair by a pile of books*

*crawls into bookshelf and falls asleep* Zzz....

Solucet 03-12-2014 06:11 PM

I just assumed that the tracks were laid in a rapid, slipshod fashion resulting in fragile, labyrinthine pathways. So I guess we just found another one.

Lawtan 03-12-2014 06:13 PM

Pretty much...
*passes out due to "real-life" stress*

Kilala Mikal 03-12-2014 07:12 PM

Ruh-roh. Hope everything's okay, Law. *offers comfort snacks of your choice*

Lawtan 03-12-2014 11:48 PM

Going up and down as my "hell weeks" are closing. Past 3 weeks were bad...

And I still added to the Library, did archery, drew commissions, posted to the RP, studied/passed classwork, among other things!

Fauxreal 03-13-2014 12:31 AM

Fav shows.
Bones
Psych
American Horror Story
Once Upon a Time

I really like Two broke Girls, but if I miss it - whatever. Same goes for Castle and Mike and Molly.

Lawtan 03-13-2014 10:17 AM

Oh, the last one was Avatar: The Last Airbender...

NCIS is a little like Bones, I think. (haven't seen that much of Bones)

Yes, as Law said. I think there are a lot of conversations and tracks here. XD Like most libraries.

And I'm shocked to admit I've heard of most of them. But never seen most of them. XD 'Shadow Raiders' I didn't know of till a couple days ago, and there is one or two others I don't know.

XD Never seen an episode of that, but I have an Iroh in my RP multiverse. He's the cook on my good ship Serenity. Saw a bit of 'Firefly', because I had friends who were nuts about it. Found I liked some of the characters, but it was a bit too graphic in the sex parts for me. So I took the ship, the captain, and his CO1, had him married to whatshername the registered prostitute, but then lost her when the ship got half destroyed and nearly lost himself too because his leg got all wrecked up and he was too stubborn to let anyone take it off. The engineer on the ship was Kaylee's daughter, instead of Kaylee herself. The new navigator is a six foot tall, butterfly winged X-gene mutant girl, and instead of River and Simon, they wound up with a Sam and Dean Winchester. (another show I haven't watched, but know about earlier seasons from detailed once-friend commentary. crazyRiver!Sam was fun to play when I had their story going actively. XD

Where are River and Simon, you ask? Well, they were spook hunting delinquents on some Earth somewhere. Hard smoking, hard drinking, hard hitting, woman chasing Simon. *laughs*

Lawtan 03-13-2014 02:04 PM

...why does that sound Farscape-ish?

An RP multiverse? O.O

Tam I am 03-13-2014 02:45 PM

LOL I know nothing of 'Farscape', but somebody made a RP community in LiveJournal years ago which was a Nexus where anyone from any time, place, or AU could come, including alternates of the same people. I kind of got hold of the idea, since I was already playing several versions of some characters, and now my Nexus is a hub between the realities in an entire Multiverse, with a few people throwing in the towel and just living there in the Nexus itself. If it were real, and you were to walk into the pub run by Nemesis, daughter of Blackout (the Decepticon), you would probably see the Prime table, with various Optimuses, Rodimuses, a Vector, and one Galvatron Prime busy eating, drinking, and taking notes. Over in another place, there would be a gathering of Ironhides busily arguing who had the best weapons and gadgets (and kids, some of them), in another area you've got an AU Superman son (whose mother is a female Wolverine) gently explaining to a brain broken Superman that not all realities go the same way. At another table an elderly Mal from the 'Firefly' AU is busy spinning a whopper of a yarn for a wide-eyed twenty year old who loves the show, and over on the bar Iroh, his cook, is busy comparing tea making methods with Rhinox the under bartender.

Lawtan 03-13-2014 02:54 PM

O.O
*Listens interested*

Tam I am 03-13-2014 05:38 PM

Stories and stories and stories and stories.

Lawtan 03-13-2014 05:45 PM

@.@
Mind if I put this under the Blogs section?

Tam I am 03-13-2014 05:57 PM

If you think it would fit in there, go right ahead. LOL

Also, Golden Delicious apples are just the best treat and comfort food ever. *just noshed one down*

Fauxreal 03-13-2014 09:06 PM

I'm a Granny Smith girl. :D

Lawtan 03-13-2014 10:13 PM

Red Delicious here.

Espy 03-13-2014 10:37 PM

I like Fuji apples o.o;

Lawtan 03-13-2014 10:39 PM

Ohh...I forgot about those! (Only was able to get them once)

Lawtan 03-13-2014 11:30 PM

I added my three favorite writers/poets - Poe, Carroll, and Coleridge

Tam I am 03-14-2014 12:30 AM

Did you know that Granny Smith apples are a sport of the Golden Delicious? And have any of you ever had a Honey Crisp? :D?

*looks at Lawtan* o.0 Did you lock us out? XD

Poe. One of my best friends' RP characters has a pet albino raven named Poe. He says "Nevermore" too, but often follows it with "Thrrpt!"

Edit: I am very amused by my outfit. I think it's the best one I've worn here yet.

Maybe say RP stories, Law? I don't want anyone to think I'm hogging the credit on that. The really good parts of those stories came from my writing partners.

Lawtan 03-14-2014 01:27 AM

Oh, okay....
Lock what out?

Tam I am 03-14-2014 02:32 AM

Sorry for all that chatter. And the lock comment was a joke attempt because your avatar has a closed gate and no person on it.

Lawtan 03-14-2014 02:34 AM

Ahh...roger that.
*gate opens with a creak, the windhowling through the trees, and the ground shakes unstable under your feet*

Enter...

Tam I am 03-14-2014 01:51 PM

XD *waves and comes in*

I've never heard the wind howl through trees. I guess aspen and jack pines aren't shaped right for it. I've heard it make strange sounds when going through gates and stuff, though.

Oh and here's more interesting links. And did you know that they make these cute little spinning things that aren't wheels, called "Mother Hubbards"?

Lawtan 03-14-2014 04:58 PM

I've heard it before...in high-rise Appalachian forest areas

I added the Housing...the bearded lady may have to wait.

Solucet 03-14-2014 05:18 PM

I just want to say that this essay is one of the most interesting things I've ever read regarding pathological narcissism.

And now I'm leaving for a while.

Tam I am 03-14-2014 08:17 PM

My best friend just got evicted, and I'm not even in the same country as her to be able to help. :p-cry:

Really? Cool. :p-smile: I used to dream of seeing those sort of forests once upon a time. I know there is a LOT of talk of the wind screaming or howling in old English novels. And I've heard it droning through cliff dwelling ruins when I was a very little child. ...Those ruins felt like there was something looking at me from them, so that wind sound still bugs me. LOL

Cool. :D That poor lady interests me because I'm slightly (as close as a person can get without a condition) in the style of a female Wookie myself. And I have goblin teeth. Real fangs.
