Do you have a system there where you can check out ebooks from libraries?

Not that I know of. Well, definitely not in my city xD Maybe in São Paulo.

It's so weird. If an ebook is already checked out, you have to be put on the waiting list until it's your turn just like regular books.

That's so odd... they're sent for real then, not as copies? So when you have it you uhh could you copy it? I don't really know, .epubs can be downloaded to the computer, can't they?

They're digital, and you have a few ereader options. But I think it has to do with them only having the rights to so many digital copies. So, everyone has to wait if more people have it on hold than the number of digital copies they own.
