Yeah, I like his concepts. I don't really feel that strongly about any one of them to be honest.

mdom 04-24-2020 09:24 PM

I was a fan of Sabato's |D imagine taking a nap in the workroom haha

Biomecha 04-24-2020 11:03 PM

I feel like he could have learned to think more originally had he gotten more time. I wish Troy had more time too, but it didn't seem the show format really gave him the time he needed to excel and so they wound up being messy and weird.

mdom 04-25-2020 02:47 PM

OH SO THAT'S WHAT I HAD TO DOOO
watch the finale!!!!

Biomecha 04-28-2020 08:12 PM

I need a few days to watch things. I did get to the part where Sander's mother was walking with their whippet.

mdom 04-28-2020 11:35 PM

I watched the finale!
Also drag race.
and uh what else

Biomecha 04-29-2020 07:34 PM

What did you mean by that's what you had to do? I finished it now.

mdom 04-30-2020 12:33 PM

I had to watch the finale but had forgotten |D

many complaints about the winner

Biomecha 04-30-2020 10:08 PM

What sort of complaints? I think the problem is that they marketed the show as a fashion competition, but it was very much a business competition. It represents the real fashion world, because that isn't about creative talent and is more for those who have good business sense. But for a show, we want the creative side to see things we don't get to see.

littl3chocobo 05-01-2020 09:46 AM

-picks nose- i have no idea what we are talking about!

Biomecha 05-01-2020 08:05 PM

Just another fashion based reality competition. Because fashion. Can't get enough. Be careful if we get into a heated debate about using sequins over paillettes.

littl3chocobo 05-01-2020 08:34 PM

ah. the tv XD welp i am officially useless there! the only thing i've got is i make cutesy dollclothes for another forum

Biomecha 05-01-2020 11:40 PM

Do you mean sewing doll clothes or making avatar doll pixels?

littl3chocobo 05-02-2020 08:00 AM

like actual fabric and resin junk haha, would you like to see?

Biomecha 05-02-2020 09:56 AM

Yes I would! Is it mostly hand sewing because of the smaller scale? Ohh, resin to make the eyes and such?

mdom 05-02-2020 10:29 AM

Yes, that critique |D
I mean, it was kinda expected since amazon was sponsoring the show, but still, every episode the judges would say 'the next bit name in fashion', or 'this isn't the future of fashion' or whatever but what they really wanted was something that would sell.

chocobo why u hiding ur arts

Biomecha 05-04-2020 07:57 PM

I'm not really sure the judges even knew what they were really looking for. It'd be interesting to gain some insight on how much input the producers actually have on deciding who wins.

mdom 05-04-2020 11:11 PM

hehe like when Ru left the stage season 1 to 'think' about who to eliminate between Ongina and Bebe and all the theories are that Ru was talking to the producers

Biomecha 05-05-2020 02:31 AM

Didn't they also show the bad photos on Top Model so that it would fit with the producers' picks for who to keep, even if they had better ones?

mdom 05-05-2020 12:42 PM

Yeah, I remember there was a thread about it on the antm forum I used to be

littl3chocobo 05-05-2020 03:09 PM

haha, it is only hand-sewing, i work in 1/14th scale;
https://images-wixmp-ed30a86b8c4ca88...ITn7gjpSOITvYM

Biomecha 05-05-2020 05:24 PM

mdom: It's not like they tried to hide it. During the photoshoots you could see that they had good ones on the screen that showed each shot as they were taking the photographs. Only to leave you wondering what happened to those when they showed the bad one during judging.

chocobo: Ohh, thank you for showing. Is that also a knitted collar? The stitches look really nice. I'd like to learn hand sewing along with machine sewing.

Feel free to show more.

littl3chocobo 05-05-2020 05:48 PM

nope, it is a bit of lace folded over itself XD i am very lazy i refuse to do real work, hahaha

i also have this;

Biomecha 05-05-2020 06:17 PM

Ah, I wonder what it would look to layer different colored laces for something of a larger scale item.

Your links don't want to work.

littl3chocobo 05-05-2020 08:07 PM

that is weird.... they show up fine for me >x>;;;;

Biomecha 05-06-2020 12:49 AM

Heheh, playing with the chickens. So cute! What do you make with resin?

littl3chocobo 05-06-2020 04:00 AM

food, almost exclusively. like soups and broths and sauces ^^

mdom 05-06-2020 10:25 AM

Those clothes are so adorable!!!!

littl3chocobo 05-06-2020 12:21 PM

eeehee~ thankyou<3 your avi is pretty cute too ^^

Biomecha 05-06-2020 11:02 PM

I like to watch some of the videos where they take an existing doll and rework it into something different. Like repainting the face. Making the clothes is probably a lot harder than it looks.

mdom 05-08-2020 01:09 AM

I like those videos, too

Biomecha 05-08-2020 04:08 PM

Have you seen the Demuse ones? I wonder how much a collection of high fashion doll clothes would cost.

mdom 05-08-2020 06:29 PM

Those dolls are sooo detailed!!
And also niche, so I think they'd be very expensive @_@

Biomecha 05-08-2020 07:16 PM

Also the amount of work that goes into them. Considering how small seed beads can get, a beaded dress would be amazing. I wonder how small sequins can get. Seeing the super tiny knits like what they used to make outfits for the Coraline film, would be cool.

mdom 05-08-2020 08:15 PM

I can't even imagine the coordination required to do stuff at such small scale xD

Biomecha 05-08-2020 10:10 PM

It's essentially what my mother did. She went through a beadwork phase of jewelry making and used the smallest sizes of seed beads. I still have drawers full of them that I don't know what to do with because they have value since they're an antique Czech glass type.

mdom 05-09-2020 11:30 AM

Ah, that's so nice! Do you have some laying around you wouldn't mind showing?

Biomecha 05-09-2020 04:52 PM

Not the smallest beads she used. The father may have some stored.

Each individual bead is directly sewn halfway into the leather backing.

The greyhound was from when she first started getting into metalwork.

mdom 05-10-2020 10:04 PM

@_@ so tiny!! The patience required to do that work...

Biomecha 05-11-2020 04:09 PM

It was probably my favorite time as a pre-teen when she was taking her metalworking classes, because they let me sit in during them. And no one made me feel like I was invading.
