we have different themes? do tell?
|
yes, please, do tell
|
There's no theme selector in the settings UI, but we were experimenting with building some alternate color schemes a long, long time ago. The code still exists if you have the "try out this theme" links, but I make no guarantees about everything actually working.
And yes, it is my fault that we don't have a dark theme, but the reason for that is the same as the reason we never finished the alternate palettes -- visual cohesiveness. Trisphee's color scheme is part of its branding, and letting users change that kind of dilutes it. And in particular having a theme with a dark background means that EVERYTHING, including users' posts and font colors, would have to be double-checked for visibility and aesthetics against twice as many different backgrounds. Posts turning unreadable when you switch to the non-default theme is a problem on a LOT of sites. |
worrying about diluting the brand is stupid and i vote we make themes
i vote we make........ user customizable themes......... let users worry about how ugly their themes are. |
I actually agree with Coda. It makes sense to want to keep a steady theme for your brand. Maybe an alternative theme could be possible in the future. But I know very little to nothing about business management and even less about computers! lol |
that sunset theme does look dope as fuck, though.

nooo i wanna make my theme all memes, don't betray me this way

lol I'm sorry Galla! I dont know how those things work...sounds hard.. and I no hablo code |
I wonder if my preference for the sunset theme also ties in to my preference for the old Discord light theme, mainly wrt contrast issues.
