I'm looking for a job. Never had a job in highschool but I did when I wasn't going to school or college. The experience I have then though doesn't really help all that much. The people at the survey firm didn't really care that I knew how to pour a cup of coffee, or handle petty cash. I got that job through my dad, which was a bonus for me. It was my GPA that I had going for me and a basic drafting course that I took in high school.

I have all sorts of retail experience that basically means nothing now that I need a job where I sit :/ It's a bit depressing in a way, it's not like I mind working retail, my body just won't let me anymore.

Quiet Man Cometh 06-17-2011 04:21 AM

Right.

Bleh. Want to watch a cheesy horror film but there are none on right now. Stupid TV. Don't feel like putting a DvD in either, looking for something more casual. Just fiddling with a painting at the moment. Got up really late so not too inclined to go to bed early.

Serra Britt 06-17-2011 04:35 AM

It's pretty late where I am but I'm not tired and am on a laptop so I'm already lying down. I just don't know what to do except hang out here XD

Quiet Man Cometh 06-17-2011 04:46 AM

Yeah. I still wish there was something on TV. Done my painting for now and don't have much else that I'm inclined to do. I suppose I could try another painting. There's a thought, as everything's already out and I have at least two people interested in something. I was attempting some Chinese brush techniques which, unfortunately, I suck at. Need to practice more.

Serra Britt 06-17-2011 05:04 AM

I already know you're better than me though. My art is, well...unrefined. Let's just say I suck at every art technique :p

Quiet Man Cometh 06-17-2011 05:24 AM

I'm just too persistant to quit. I envy those who can scribble up drawings in 10 minutes. I can sketch but proper drawings take me a long time. My cat up there took maybe 20 minutes to sketch and the colouring took probably around 3 hours.

Only have one piece of watercolour paper left though. Alas!

Sudden urge to play around with acrylic paint though, since someone mentioned it in the art forums. I like acrylics. They are more like felts to me, and if you screw up you can paint over them. No such lucky with watercolour. Maybe I should go dig up my colouring book. I still buy them. ;)

Serra Britt 06-17-2011 05:28 AM

Coloring books are fun ;) I kind of miss them.

Quiet Man Cometh 06-17-2011 05:46 AM

So go get one. :p. I have a couple Disney princess books because the drawings are actually nice with enough detail to make them fun. So many colouring books now are on crappy paper with the most basic of pictures that's it's just dull. My favourite one is one that I got in Sweden which is the oddest thing I've ever seen. The cover is a somewhat gibbly looking princess on a swing but on closer look she has a moustache and goatee. Another picture has a slightly skewed drawing of a man's profile with very tiny men with mallets beating on his head to make bumps that look like a five fingered mohawk. I wish I bought two, one to colour and one to keep. The arist even drew a boquet and apoligized in the back of the book.

Serra Britt 06-17-2011 05:54 AM

That's really neat Quiet XD I'm sure I could get a simple coloring book after I move, it's just a dollar after all.

Quiet Man Cometh 06-17-2011 06:04 AM

I find they work to a good wind down too, to get my mind back into neutral or a more relaxed state if I'm agitated from something or have a nervous twitch.

'Tis late, and I'm sleepy. Time to clock out now. Later.

2 days ago i applied to a job cleaning a night club not really the best job around but a job none the less and i need a job! And I have been applying to so many jobs and not hearing anything at all back so i was so happy today when the night club called me back lol funny isn't it

Serra Britt 06-17-2011 09:55 PM

Congrats Feythful ^^ I hope you get the job, even if it's not the best it's still something.

Feythfull 06-17-2011 10:14 PM

yes it is and hopefully the pay will be desent

Serra Britt 06-17-2011 11:11 PM

Cleaning/janitorial usually are pretty good since not many people want to do them. But we'll see. I'm hoping for the best for you!

Quiet Man Cometh 06-17-2011 11:55 PM

Indeed. Hope the job is pleasant at the very least.

That reminds me that I need to work on my resume. I've barely even touched it. Just been looking through a bunch of online job sites but I don't seem to have the right sort of experience for what I'm looking for. Might be back to school for me instead.
