He felt a sense of deja vu. This time however he was not giving up with out a fight. Each attack from Galvin resulted in more pressure on his wind pipe. The stars were becoming to frequent and no air was getting in. Galvin felt like he was drowning. All of his struggling faded into nothing.
he let go when pyce finally stopped moving and lay there breathing heavily until a gloved hand reached out. looking past it he saw the driver. he took the hand and wrapping an arm around the unconscious man on top of him he shakily stood before wobbling into the back of the white car. he did not bother asking where they were going
The doctor was surprised, out of all of the mans lovers, this one seemed to get hurt the most. He gingerly touched the boys neck inspecting it Had Ambrosia held him longer, it would have caused internal swelling possibly death. He informed him it was dire to take Galvin to a hospital if he couldn't speak or had trouble breathing, for now he pulled some thing out that would hopefully make the swelling go down.
He woke up in a different room, it wasn't his nor was it the sliver or the green room. For a long time he lay disorientated wondering what time it was and how long he had been asleep. The view of the night time city could not tell him either, except that he was high off the ground. Once he was about to breathe with out quick needles of pain hurting his throat he rose, pushing aside the white linen he fell out of the bed and on to the wooden floor. |
quickly he sprang from his light doze as the patient woke and attempted to leave the bed. without a word he took the man by the arm and helped pull him back into the bed and re-tucked the blankets. "........that is not advised"
Galvin didn't know who this man was but he was alot gentler then Ambroisa. HE shook his head. "I can't say here." He wheezed before his head reached up and touched it throat. It felt painful and badly in need of water. Swallowing hurt just as much but he was persistent in leaving.
shaking his head nervously he spared a glance out of the room. "i am sorry mister...? um, anyway it is not advised you are hurt badly and have only just come from the hospital." using one hand he softly leaned the man back against the pillows and poured a glass of water. he gave him a straw so he could relax while he drank
He shouldn't have moved to fast, it made the room spin. He looked at the man and then took the water. "Hospital?" He wheezed out. Against his better judgement he scooted to the edge of the bed. "Where is Dick?"
he blinked in confusion but did not move from his place so the man would not be able to leave the bed. "i'm sorry son, who is dick?"
Galvin rubbed the area between his forehead before realizing he still had his contacts in his eyes. He took one of them out before answering the man. "I do not know what name he has given you, umm Kenneth, Leveau, Ambrosia?"
"......ambrosia? he is in the other room. you should rest, your neck is bruised, you are lucky it did not herniate." he lightly took the contacts though the man's eyes stole a moment as he looked into a perfect match to the middle gargrin's
Galvin realized he could not make his favorite onomatopoeia. He searched around until he found his cell phone, opting to send his brother a text rather then alerting him to his pain by calling. He fell back among the pillows once he knew his dog was going to be cared for and that his brother was not worried. He turned and looked at the man. "Who are you?"
he made himself busy with tidying while the man noisily texted into the phone. he wanted to tell him not to strain his throat but that the man even stayed in bed was more than he expected after twenty-four years of serving the gargrin child. "....doctor hubert frellumn."
Galvin didn't know what else to do with himself. He decided it was worth the risk to explore the newest apartment. “Thank you Mr. Frellumn am I allowed to eat food?” He wondered while touching his throat.
he gave up when the man tried leaving the bed again and would not be swayed by a hand. "no, you should not even be drinking. i can get an iv hooked back into you if you are hungry"
He couldn't hide his horrified expression. If he was going to be in bed for weeks he would rather be in bed at home. He couldn't suppress the chill that ran down his spine, but he resisted his urges to cry out like a child wanting to go home. "How long?"
he had to refrain from a worried sigh at the man's reaction "a few days for the swelling, since nothing was badly injured you should be ok within a week if you are careful not to aggravate it. the bruises will stay for a while past that"
"I can not stay here for a week with that beast." Galvin said. It was the most he managed to talk through the pain but it still hurt. He fought the hand rising again to his feet. Disappearing for a week would not only raise questions but it would get himself fired. He started searching around the room for his things.
he frowned. "....forgive me but i am saying this as one man to another and not a doctor, your body is yours to do with as you please but do remember you only get the one. take care of it. i will let mister gargrin know you are awake. " quickly he turned away. he was certain to be reprimanded harshly for this
That man had come close to killing him 3 times. However the doctor was right. The more Galvin moved the more his neck hurt and it was hard to take in the air needed to move. He fell back down on the bed and crawled to the middle turning his back away from the door. He did not want to see Ambrosia he preferred the view of the moon instead.
he was pleased when he heard the other was awake though it was marred when he heard that pyce had not intention of staying. looking away from his book he snapped it closed and shot the doctor a glare. "you will make him stay. that bastard already fucked up my face, i won't have him dying on top of it"
Galvin grew bored with laying on the bed, and had made it to the door only to hear the Garagin yell at the poor timid looking doctor. He shook his head fully emerging from the room. He held up his hands with three fingers. "That is how... many times... you've tried." he paused every other word attempting not to wince but his usual verbose sentences were causing him pain. "I will stay... please bring Agamemnon."
they both looked up though he was certain the doctor did not understand and was happy enough for that. "and four for you, i have lost less times than you it seems. frellum, go get pyce's dog"
He watched the doctor pluck a pen from his breast pocket along with a note pad. Galvin wrote down his address after plucking his key from his pocket. He also wrote Watch out for my brother.. He measured Ambrosia. "I thoughtyou... wanted me dead?" He said managing to fold his arms over his chest.
he barked a laugh though it sent a pain across his nose-bridge. "i want to kill you as often as i want to fuck you, but i don't want you dead. do not mistake my anger."
He shook his head, returning to the room to get the cup with the straw in it. Galvin sipped down the water before realizing he had not seen the rest of this apartment before. "You,... sounded mad, last time."
following the other he watched as galvin drank the contents of a glass cup, he assumed either water or something laced with painkillers. "when was this? i am often mad at you. you are a fucking idiot and dangerous"
"The park...after." He pointed to his neck and pulled down the cloth showing the gash on his skin. "The second time." His eyes traveled around the apartment. He started to count on his fingers how many houses that meant and wondered what color this one was. Taking a deep breath he ventured forth and sat on a chair near Ambrosia.
he felt a little angry when he recalled what the man was referring to but had no wish to fight. "i only count marks left on my body. you should be in bed frellum may be a worm but he is a very apt doctor"
He laid his head on the arm of the sofa, shaking it lightly. He didn't want to sleep again until he saw his dog. Galvin blinked watching Ambrosia, till the man was starting to fall out of focus. "Do you.. keep any food?"
he snorted but it was cut short from pain. "this is not a place for eating. i will order you something. what sort of soup or broth or drink will you eat?"
Galvin didn't have the energy to give a witty come back. Instead he snorted but even that seemed to cause him some displeasure. "Chicken please." He took another sip of the water, and realize the irony, he had the other alone and could ask as many questions as he pleased but could not speak. He laughed twisting his head, raising it off its plush resting spot. Galvin decided to give himself a tour of the apartment fancying it much more then the silver one.
obligingly he called to have food made and brought to the skyscraper and was even kind enough to have them get a hold of the doctor to find out what kind. hanging up he followed behind the man taking a mental note of how the other looked at the place
He walked to the large windows, this place seemed to be bathed in wonderful views of the city. He touched one of the glass panes before folding his feet underneath him in a yoga knot. "I like brown... more than silver." He said wondering if the other could hear his low raspery voice.
coming closer he asked the man to speak up and hearing the repeated comment he smiled. "would you like to live here then?"
Galvin turned his head and a cry of pain escaped his lips. He looked at Ambrosia with curious, glaring grey eyes. It dawned on him that perhaps this is what Cirro was talking about. "Why?"
that was the easiest question the man had asked so far. "mutual convenience, i will know where you are and you will have what you want, and without cost to you. it seems fair, no?"
There was a trap some place, he knew it. The man had already attempted to kill him twice and now there would be no way of stopping him as he slept. He involuntarily shook. And what would his parents and brother say. He answered the man with silence as he tried to wrestle with the choice. Luckily he did not have to answer as the apartment was filled with the sounds of barking. Galvin grinned as his dog tugged the poor doctor across the room. He welcomed the beast with loving arms and tummy scratches.
his answer was delayed when the damnable dog came into the apartment though he did not get angry, with the animal there to improve the man's mood he was more likely to get a favorable answer. "i can have someone come look after your dog when you are away, dogs are herd animals correct?"
His dog twisted in his lap, and Galvin realized he would not want to leave the care of his best friend in the hands of Ambrosia. He was saved from having to speak by the doctor. The mousy man had disappeared and returned with a straw in a cup filled with chicken soup.
he was growing impatient with the doctor and with a small nod dismissed the other. he wanted an answer and he wanted one soon. "if you would like i can give you a few minutes to think about it. this is a big decision"
