yeah, since it's student housing we have to deep-clean once a month and management comes and inspects it. if it's not good enough, we have to either re-do it or pay a fee for someone else to come in and clean it. it's a miserable day. especially since I had to do the bathroom. but we passed with all "excellent" marks!

Quiet Man Cometh 06-10-2011 10:59 PM

Nope. At my sister's farm while she's at a dog show. She has four English mastiffs and a horse.

Yay! We win! :D. One goal in the whole game! And a lot of guys beating each other up without trying to look like it.

Once a month might not be that bad Lucid. We only had a check once at the end of each term, so two all year. Stuff could get nasty after that length of time. My roomies and I set up a weekly cleaning schedual that worked nicely: 2 on kitchen, 2 on bathroom, 1 on living room, 1 on garbage. We also made a point of all going down to toss the recyle together so that whoever got stuck with the job still got some company. ;). Morale support!

Lucid: 06-10-2011 11:01 PM

SUCCESSSSSSS!
apparently the cleanest apartment on each side of the street wins a certificate to a restaurant down the street. I wonder if that means we win? :O the guy who checked it seemed really chill though, as if he was giving everyone all excellents. he's not the normal guy who checks it, he was filling in. so someone else might've won too. oh well.

Serra Britt 06-10-2011 11:07 PM

Aww, too bad Lucid. My place could never win, I'm not tidy enough x.x

Kind of glad they don't do contests like that here xD

Quiet Man Cometh 06-10-2011 11:09 PM

At least my (fourth year) roomies and I were fairly clean so the inspection wasn't heart attack enducing ever. Even if the dorm appliances were on their last legs. I doubt the vacuum bag had been changed since the place opened in the 70s. With my third year had to cut away knots of hair strands from the vacuum rotor twice! They were plugging it up. It wouldn't spin. :(. Fortunately I'm not weirded out by hair or cleaning the showers would have been really nasty! Did irritiate me though, on occasion. Being the only blonde in the place it was quite obvious that the wads of very brunette and black hair weren't mine. -.-

Serra Britt 06-10-2011 11:14 PM

I know when I take showers I always get the hair off the drain >> I do have a problem with it on my vaccum cleaner though, it really gets stuck on the wheel brush :/ It's kinda disgusting cleaning it but I have to, I swear I shed as much as a real cat sometimes.

Kenly 06-10-2011 11:24 PM

i've never been to college, so i've never had to worry about the cleaning thing. though, i'm the one that does the most cleaning around where i'm living. sometimes drives me nuts... it'd be nice if other people would help.

Serra Britt 06-10-2011 11:28 PM

I do most of the cleaning here, but then again I don't work and my roommate does, so it's only fair :p I have to say though, I wish I were a bit more careful about putting stuff away rather than having a "I'll deal with it later" pile ^^;

Lucid: 06-10-2011 11:28 PM

I get weirded out by hair. D8 I'm the sort of girl who thinks that guys who shave their legs are hot. XDDDD

my hair is probably about an inch and a half long at its longest parts, and it's brown. my roommates are blonde and redheaded. Airi's hair gets ALL OVER THE PLACE and it's so obvious that it's hers because it's bright red and usually curly. XD

Quiet Man Cometh 06-10-2011 11:44 PM

I'm too lazy to shave so I just deal. Having a dog that sleeps in my bed also means that I do wake up with dog hairs stuck to my lips on occasion. Human hair that is not mine does get to me a little more than animal hair though.

Lucid: 06-10-2011 11:46 PM

yeah, animal hair isn't too bad for me. I haven't had pets in a long time, but when I did, it didn't bother me. (granted, I was no older than 5 last time I had a pet that wasn't a fish.) but it's other peoples' hair that I think is gross.

Serra Britt 06-10-2011 11:47 PM

I'm a very lazy shaver but that's because I have slow-growing body hair. Every so often I do get that urge to purge it from my legs and armpits though >>
-hides-

Quiet Man Cometh 06-10-2011 11:49 PM

I have pills that speed up the process, unfortunately, as a side effect. Not so amusing.

Lucid: 06-10-2011 11:50 PM

I'm usually good with shaving once a week, usually I shave right before I have to wear a skirt to church every sunday. during the winter I get lazier and sometimes wear tights instead of shaving that week, and during the summer when I wear shorts I sometimes shave twice a week. I usually get my armpits every 2-3 days, depending on whether I'm planning on wearing a short sleeved blouse to work.
