I know they are wonderful things! I use them lots!

Me, Chasm, Ashy, Gozed, (lucid did 2) all worked hard gathering the images so I could put them together like a puzzle <3

Yes there is. Many meanings really.

The Maneki Neko is called the Good Luck Cat. Also known as the Beckoning cat.

The paw is raised up to call others over. you often see them infront of japanese shops and stuff.

The Good Luck part is for the statues. Depending on what Paw is raised. One paw is for money and i forget what the other paw is for,

That is really really interesting.

If I recall correctly, one is for wealth, the other good fortune. Typically I've seen the right one up. Might have to look that one up but if it works, it works.

I got a small statue from my favorite japanese resturant *it was used as ref to the maneki neko items so the item looks EXACTLY like my statue* and it came with these little papers you stick on the waving paw. each one for a different good fortune, weither it be health, wealth, happiness, marrage so on so forth xD
