That might be it. I know when my mom had one she was having problems with and all it really took to fix the hardware issues was taking a can of compressed air and using it to clean out the entire inside of the laptop. There was so much dust....

I would if I had the money! Unfortunately I have just enough money to buy Semi's wedding ring and then pay for my own groceries and doctor bills. I'm terribly lucky I don't have any more rent to pay until mid-may at worst. I hope your compressed air fixes the problem though. Easier than a new computer.
