A spy for the good side masquerading as evil.

The first boss you encounter, who is astoundingly easy to defeat. But, by the end of the game, you come to find out that 1) They are not evil. 2) They've been orchestrating every major event in the game, and 3) They do not expect you to succeed, you silly little protagonist. But, you gain their respect as you prove them wrong, defeating them in battle for the final time.

A maiden/summoner who becomes corrupted by dark magic and eventually becomes a boss.

The unlikely protagonist who originally wanted to destroy the world. But, then a jerk came along and stripped them of their powers. So, for now, they'll fight to save the world, if only to regain their power so they can destroy it themself. (( At least, that's how they feel at the beginning. ))

One of the big-bads that seduces one of your party members, twisting their minds and turning them into a level field-boss. You don't get to exact revenge until the end of the game, and even then there runs a chance she'll turn your comrade against you, still having him in her thrall.
