when he got back the other was still on the floor looking like the cat who got the canary. he ignored the man and went over the machinery he figured it'd be a good idea to start shutting down the sections, he was not going to be able to leave any time soom but the least he could do was minimize what the tower put out

Samuel watched Leslie and bolted upright when he saw what the other was doing. "No! You can't do it from up here." Well you could but it was highly dangerous, but Samuel did not feel like imparting that bit of information.

he twisted around "beg your parden? and why the hell can't i?"

"Cause the tower isn't fully operational yet. Trying to decrease what the tower is doing from up here would lead to complete failure of the system. All life support and electronic items will stop working. The only way to deacrease it is from the main pannel downstairs." Samuel explained quickly. "It is a failsafe for terrorists and such, my own design."

he gave the other a dead-pan stare "figures i'd get the only tower i can't hack" he moved towards the other "take me to it and show me how to deactivate it"

Samuel blinked yjrm ;aughed. "You think it is just that simple?" Was he really that naive? "Right now the tower is aware it has a terrorist and won't respond to any increase/decreases of output. It is a filafe only the UN can turn off right now. Luckly for you it won't lock us in."

he ground his teeth "so while the other two towers are two days dead this one will remain functioning until i kill us?" he swiveled around and pounded the board as hard as he could with his fist, he could feel skin break and heard the crunch of something in the panel breaking but he did not care, nothing in this section was worth giving a damn over. he leaned over the console

Samuel jumped slightly when the other pounded the control panel but otherwise showed no emotion. "Possibly even after we are dead. Currently this tower could run, as long as no repairs are need, unmaned." Then Samuel noticed the blood and gave a frown. "You better have more of the cleaning stuff, who knows what pathogens live on this control board."

"no, my virus is nasty enough to take out your tower, it'd prolly take out half the boards on luna if i wanted it too" he looked at his hand almost as if he couldn't fathom it "but i don't want to die, i mean i will if i have to, but i'd rather not all the same until i am told to." he looked at the other "surly you have an over-ride, hell there has to be a good reason they wanted you alive. what will it take to get the answer?"

Samuel grabbed his chair and sat while asking Leslei, "Have you ever used you little virus one a level 10 clearance item? This tower has protections almost 50 times that." He settled doewn grinning. "I already told you, I've eccepted my inevitable death. And they don't want me alive for the over-ride; they know it, if they even want me alive it is for my lovely coding and mechanics knowledge. Plus, it is one of the first living codes; I wrote the original code then told it to learn to protect itself better from viruses and manuel hacking."

"the proto versions yes, do you think i'd let something that easy stop me? it's not just a regular virus, it's corruption code, if it can get even one little data string to self-destruct then the whole thing is golden, your damn tower has lots of openings like that, no smart-coding can save itself, i have never had my proto-viruses fail and those pale in comparison to the real thing, why else would they send me, a fucking veteran to destroy this place? my protos took out the sister-towers just fine" he did not mention the one down-fall of his virus. that it could only be used once before it suicided itself along with the host "the mother would have no issues"

Samuel's eyes positivly lit up, "How fast can it corrupt? Becuase all you do is remove corrupted piece from main piece, destroy it and recreate." And when he heard about the other two towers he gave a frown before saying, "The sister towers where inferior, basic protection that even a baby could brake into. I tried to convince them that the living code was the way to go but the only let my make this one that way." He had wanted to see about three entirly different protection codes but only this one had been passed as legal. "Well, you could just plug in and see."

"twentythree terabytes in four seconds on a level 28 is my record" his face lit up "that was two updates ago, i have not tried again yet, i have not had the time to make duplicate cards" he shivered happily before he caught the other staring with that stupid look on his face. he went back to dead-pan "though i think we already covered why i can't stick her in just yet, unlike you i live by those bits of machines and they like the trade i am offering, bastards want too much though in trying to get both you and the tower, though..." he moved over to where the other sat and moved a hand along his chin "i still don't believe you'd make something like that and just let it fall out of your hands though, i know what you want now and i'll make a trade with you for it" he remembered the old adage between whores and assassins. it was apt

Samuel raised his eyebrow and removed Leslie's hand. "No," He said rather coldly changing his entire tone. "Like you said, I'm not going to let the code slip through my hands especially not for what you offer."

he turned away with a shrug "then until negotiations are met the tower stays at it's current setting" he was not pleased with the idea but it was not so important to minimize functions. he went back over to the book and picked it up. he had nothing better to do than wait

"If negotations happen. Like I said I don't think the UN will cave to you demands." Samuel was watching the other now for any sudden moves having been thrown enough by how Leslie was acting.

"that they have tried to stall as much as they have proves that your opinions are false and unfounded, we have made bad move in allowing one of our newer members to attempt something important and now we are paying for the failure, if i do not defect then they will go through" he sat down in his spot and opened up the book

Samuel rembered the coversation from earlier, "A Theodore, right?" Sending a green member out to do an advanced members job is a rather stupid mistake but he is not here to critize a criminal organization. "And I'm going to assume you have no reason as of now to defect. Which pretty much seals the deal."

he nodded as he found his page. he fell into reading and ignored the un-bound man across the room from him

As the other one started to read Samuel could not help but wonder if he even relized that Samuel was untied. "What is so terribly interesting that you must ignore me?" He asked Leslie. "Or is it that boring book about injury related mentall problems that you are one of 5 people to read?"

he said nothing, he did not feel like starting this conversation again

The other still was not reacting, so it was time for a random subject change. "What kind of literature do you like? Besides the obvious love of medical journals you have."

he looked up sourly "you certainly ask the most useless questions" he looked back down and went to his reading. after several minutes of stressed silenced he sighed "i don't have a preference, if i see it, i read it"

"Of couse I ask useless questions; I am human." Samuel felt that the other was lieing and would not read everything but did not bring it up. Samuel then stood and started to pace. Long times of inactivity made him restless and right now it was not like he had paperwork to drain his energy.

he dropped all pretenses of reading "ok, i understand, you don't like it when i read, if i stop will you?"

Samuel stopped pacing, "Probably." He was not going to give a definate because it all depended on what Leslei would do once he stopped reading.

he set the book aside but remained seated "are you hungry? you have not eaten in a while"

"Currently not hungry." Samuel said figiting slightly. "Haven't expended enough energy to have used up my prievous days energy."

he had an idea "would you like to get some excersise?"

"That would be fine." Samuel said not really careing either way.

"ok, run" he stood up langidly

Samuel grinned and took off out the door. He did not intend on leaving the tower, just running. First he went down a couple floors the entered the service tunnels.

he took off after the other following no closer than ten steps behind, it was good practice and if he wore the other out he could get some peace. it did feel silly though to have to play hide and go seek with a grown man but he was coming to find out that despite the technician's abilities and body he was still but a child and responded as children did.

Running felt good even though it seemed kind of odd that the other would allow him to run. Samuel took this time to refamilarize with the tower and figure out why certain parts of the tower were off limits. It was fun and it had his endorphanes working again.

he took not of the occasional flaw in the blueprints he was given making appropriate mental adjustments where needed, this tower was either modified or else the map was intentionally misleading. the man in front of him took a sharp left and he followed

Samuel lead the other arond the tower until he stopped suddenly. He was cornered because he was not going into the sleeping area. There was much he would rather avoid in there.

when the other stopped he lunged dropping them both to the floor, the other was not nearlly as winded as he out to have been and the doors had not locks at this point, none were needed. he climbed off of the other and fell back on his haunches "you are captured"

"It appears I am." Samuel said simply standing up. "Now what do you plan to do with your captive?"

he ignored the question "why did you stop?"

Samuel gave a slight frown; he had attempted to change the subject. "I was getting tired." A complete and utter lie that he hoped the ither would not jump on.
