Death by Mirrors 09-16-2019 05:11 AM

You can try to shake the box and whisper "please be underwear".

I mean. It probably won't work, but you can try.

Espy 09-16-2019 05:13 AM

schrödinger's gift box

Death by Mirrors 09-16-2019 05:15 AM

Before you look inside, it's simultaneously pasties and bird.

Witchchylde 09-16-2019 12:51 PM

We've had cockatiels, lovebirds and finches over the years.

trystan830 09-16-2019 12:57 PM

my list o'stuff to give away

i have more boxes i need to open....

Stabbsworth 09-16-2019 01:00 PM

currently: unsure how to explain that discord DMs between people i don't know as well as close friends and myself scare me slightly.

trystan830 09-16-2019 01:03 PM

DMs don't bother me much if they're from a name i recognize. if it's some random person and i've never seen the name, then that's creepy.

Stabbsworth 09-16-2019 01:13 PM

i get spooked because i sort of associate it with me having fucked up somewhere and i get scared.

trystan830 09-16-2019 02:05 PM

i'm pretty sure you didn't.

Merskelly Metalien 09-16-2019 02:14 PM

I think Cockatoos are cute and hilarious but also have the capacity to be loud, squawky dinosaurs. x'D

Stabbsworth 09-16-2019 02:26 PM

i can and will probably get scared abt just abt everything, given the chance.

also, i've heard abt cockatoos! they're neat.

Birb

Stabbsworth 09-16-2019 02:49 PM

borb!!

Coda 09-16-2019 03:04 PM

I have a tiny cockatoo (that is to say, a cockatiel) and an even tinier parrot (that is to say, a budgie (that is to say, what most people think of when you say "parakeet")).

Stabbsworth 09-16-2019 03:07 PM

oh? babies. do tell?

Gogandantes 09-16-2019 03:11 PM

tonberries are always cool.

Stabbsworth 09-16-2019 03:11 PM

what is a tonberry

Coda 09-16-2019 03:14 PM

Well, the parakeet IS a baby. He's only a few months old. He's curious and playful and doesn't quite understand that he can't actually fly because his wings are clipped. (This wasn't our choice, they were clipped when we got him. We're intending to let him be fully flighted, because budgies fly even for traveling short distances, unlike larger birds.) You'd think this would be adorable but it's really kinda sad because he keeps jumping off of things and hitting the ground. Good thing he's a tiny bird; he's not heavy enough to hurt himself doing that.

The cockatiel is almost 5 years old. When he was a baby he liked to play peek-a-boo (he'd even say a rough approximation of "peek-a-boo!" -- the vet thought this was the most adorable thing ever) but he grew out of that. He whistles the Mickey Mouse March and the My Neighbor Totoro theme sometimes, although he hasn't done that recently because he's kinda gotten into a bit of a foul mood lately (I think he's having a rough molting season). Even so, he likes getting cuddles from my wife and he'll hop on her shoulder and shove his head up under her nose.

Stabbsworth 09-16-2019 03:16 PM

oh, that's damn well cute.

Death by Mirrors 09-16-2019 04:29 PM

Cute indeed. I immediately adore your cockatiel.
