I'm not complaining about Twilight because they make the vampires "wrong". I think it's actually pretty funny joking about it.

Cazzidy 09-13-2010 11:10 AM

-=What you're allergic to cats?...=-

What are we talking about now? A little confused at the moment...

johnny 09-13-2010 11:11 AM

I agree, Yuki.

I actually had a conversation with someone who said she was upset about the differences between Twilight vampires and real vampires.

I was like, "Really? You know they're fictional, right?"

Because apparently she'd never read a vampire book or seen a vampire movie before she wrote the books. She knew almost nothing about vampires, and everything she knew was from word-of-mouth.

...and then she decided to write a novel without doing any research. And it got published.

....yeah. xD

Alexander Linden 09-13-2010 11:12 AM

I don't like books about Mary Sues... and the whole romance between her and Edward was completely unrealistic.

There, not just the sparkles. The author is talent-less >.<

Gozed - I still prefer vampires. haha

SakuraMinamino 09-13-2010 11:13 AM

@Yuki/Johnny: LOL, well I actually liked the first two books, way back before all the hype. The third wasn't that great and the fourth was just ridiculous. But the lore-lover in me feels like: if you're going to change the way something works, fine. If she wanted her vampires to sparkle, fine. But do your research first, and admit that you changed it, and talk about why you did...even if your reason is just "because I wanted to". She was surprised it was different. That's the part that gets to me xD

Gozed 09-13-2010 11:14 AM

I'd rather be invulnerable than immortal. Thats basically what the war of werewolves and vampires normally dies down to.

Haha. Vampires are cool but I wouldn't want to be a vampire OR a werewolf. I don't want to live forever (Tuck Everlasting, anyone?) and I don't want to turn into a wolf on the full moon, either. xD

Yuki 09-13-2010 11:15 AM

The only thing that vampires should follow is drinking blood to survive. duh Not tomatoes or ketchup. *lol* Besides that they can be anything you want.

johnny 09-13-2010 11:16 AM

@Sakura:

Uh, read my previous posts on that subject.

@Alexander:
My biggest issue was the incredibly creepy, horrible relationship between Bella and Edward. He had all the attributes of a mentally and emotionally abusive boyfriend, and she was freakishly obsessed with everything about him to the point where, when he left her, she went into a depression-induced semi-comatose state for eight months.

That shit isn't normal, and Stephanie Meyer is writing it like it's normal and selling it to pre-teen girls who don't know any better. An entire generation of girls is growing up thinking things like, "If he removes the engine block from my car, forbids me to see any of my friends, and plays emotional yo-yo with me, it means he loves me!"

Sephiroth 09-13-2010 11:16 AM

*dipkisses Yuki* Morning my love.

Believe me, I've read a lot of stuff about her reasonings behind making her vampires different, and she did say "they're different because I wanted them to be different." I don't know who told you that the was "surprised" to find out that they were different from regular vampires, but they weren't telling the truth...

Yuki 09-13-2010 11:18 AM

Sephy@ *was eating a muffin* ;q pfth

johnny 09-13-2010 11:19 AM

Ew, second-hand muffin. D:

Sephiroth 09-13-2010 11:26 AM

x.x Ewww, muffin mouth.

Hot pocket! *Chases after*

Alexander Linden 09-13-2010 11:30 AM

Gozed - I'm not into furries... and I'd much rather be immortal. Think of all the things you could learn? And you could keep on learning! It would never get boring!

Johnny - Edward is super creepy... "Sometimes I like to just sneak into your room at night and watch you sleep."
Cause that's not weird... not at all.. >.<

Yuki 09-13-2010 11:31 AM

Well sorry. D:

Cazzidy 09-13-2010 11:33 AM

-=What you're allergic to cats?...=-

I think I'm going to get some shut eye now... I'm really sleepy... Night guys... I'll just chat tomorrow...

and shopping is done, now I can relax :3

Sephiroth 09-13-2010 11:33 AM

*dipkisses now that your mouth is clear* You do realize I don't give tongue when I do this right?

Yuki 09-13-2010 11:34 AM

:B ...

Anonymous 09-13-2010 11:34 AM

-cartwheels in-

johnny 09-13-2010 11:35 AM

Anyone who watches anyone sleep = SUPER CREEPY RUN AWAY OH MY GOOOODDDD.

The only exception is if it's a parent watching their child. And that should probably stop eventually, too.

Sephiroth 09-13-2010 11:35 AM

Hey Annie. *kisses her hand* How are you this morning?

Aiko 09-13-2010 11:35 AM

Am I the only one who doesn't hate Twilight at all because it's just a book and it's your own choice if you want to read it or not?

Just asking
I still don't understand why people get so worked up over fiction....
I mean there's books I hate too, like boring social realism, but then I just don't read it... it's rather easy actually

Alexander Linden 09-13-2010 11:36 AM

Johnny - You know... I sometimes sneak into your room at night... and steal the contents of your trash... I hope you don't mind?

I am verrry tired, but besides that I'm good. (:
How are you doing, lovely?

Yuki 09-13-2010 11:36 AM

It's just fun joking about the hardcore fan girls. :v

Alexander Linden 09-13-2010 11:37 AM

Yuki - Fangirls are always annoying, doesn't even matter what they are fanning about.

Sephiroth 09-13-2010 11:38 AM

I am well my dear. Pleased to hear you are as well.

Is cosplaying considered being a fanboy?

Gozed 09-13-2010 11:40 AM

I'd still rather like just being strong and able to take a lot of punishment, rather than live a long time.

Also randomness, I've always wanted to tackle someone who was doing a cartwheel...

Aiko 09-13-2010 11:40 AM

I still don't see why...
I mean so what if they want to marry Edward, didn't everyone of you have someone you liked at the age of 13 and thought you could marry because you thought yourself mature enough
I mean I had plenty fictional heroes, of course I knew they were not real, but that didn't stop me from wishing they were...
What people like is not really something for others to criticise

Sephiroth 09-13-2010 11:41 AM

*stares at Gozed, just stares*

Hahaha. You and I have that in common.

Yuki 09-13-2010 11:42 AM

Not really. xD They can talk about it civilized. Others can't. I mean when someone says "Naruto kicks Sasuke's ass" and someone replies "OMG NO YOU DON'T KNO ANYTHIN GO KILL YOURSELF!". That's funny.

Not "marriage"...but we wont talk about the other thing here... *gigglesnort*

Gozed 09-13-2010 11:43 AM

*Stares at Sephiroth and holds crowbar close* No kissing me. -_-

Alexander Linden 09-13-2010 11:43 AM
