I'm good, though I did receive some bad news today that I wish I had not.
How are you today?

littl3chocobo 07-04-2011 01:24 PM

wanna share? burdons shared are halved

gremlin 07-04-2011 01:28 PM

My dog has been sick for a month, perhaps longer.
We took her to a vet during the first week that the began to vomit and refuse to eat. They did multiple tests, sent her home saying that she was fine. We went back again and again. She had shots done, she even spent a night there. But was apparently getting better. She didn't.
My mom took her to a second vet, the second vet discovered a lump in her throat. Probably why she wouldn't eat. It might be cancer. The operation is going to cost $3000, which we don't have.
Which is fucking stupid. $3000 just to remove a fucking lump? WHY?

Nefer 07-04-2011 01:29 PM

Hey everyone ^^
(sorry, I had some updates to do on my comp this morning, involving having to desinstall one because it didn't keep windows 7 tranparency O_o )

And oh, I get it now, as in why you're having such an avatar choco xD

@Neirra: Urg, vets, I hate them, they're so freaking expensive it's not even funny -_-; Isn't there any medication you could give her to at least prevent the bump to get any bigger?

gremlin 07-04-2011 01:35 PM

I have no clue.
My mother would have to go and find out.
I'm so angry.
How did the first vet not notice the lump?
We had blood tests done, and she spent a night there... that bothers me.

littl3chocobo 07-04-2011 01:35 PM

well they have to do the same thing as with people only vets are more educated due to the broad range of paintents, it'd cost 3k to do the same for a grandma as a pet maybe more because pet owners who would pay are more likely to spaz than a regualr person in case of complications

gremlin 07-04-2011 01:35 PM

To be honest, if I were my mother I would go back to the first vet demanding that they either help pay for the operation or they refund me the money that I spent there. :/

littl3chocobo 07-04-2011 01:37 PM

you can't do that though, no more than a person, same rules costas and issues as a people doctor and on top no help from the government

Nefer 07-04-2011 01:38 PM

@Neirra: I'd probably do that, I mean if it's really a tumor then blood simple should have shown it, at least that's how they check between every chimiotherapy treatment on humans. Well, only paying back that is, they can't really pay for the surgery

gremlin 07-04-2011 01:38 PM

It's ridiculous though.
It isn't a small vet either, they get tons of pets every day.
Shouldn't they be more educated/know more since they deal with so much animals? :/
I don't know, it seems odd to me. She had so much shots and tests done but they didn't notice that.

Nefer 07-04-2011 01:40 PM

@Neirra: It depends on the vet and time of the day I fear, my godfather's dog ended up dying about a month after seeing the vet, because the pills they gave her were too strong and she ended up not even been able to stand on her legs anymore...

littl3chocobo 07-04-2011 01:41 PM

well think of it like this, on the same equipment people get misdiagnosed or even looked over too, it is common enough

gremlin 07-04-2011 01:41 PM

That's really sad.
Ugh.
I don't know what we're really going to do.

Yeah, you're right.
They might have overlooked something and didn't notice it.

littl3chocobo 07-04-2011 01:42 PM

try iv feeding her for a couple days and see how it continues?

small blips look like errors in the machines and tendancy not to notice things is common in all jobs

Nefer 07-04-2011 01:43 PM

@Choco: Indeed...but last time I saw it happen my dad was at the hospital and I can tell you the doctor had quite a bad time with the patient's friend who just happened to be a doctor too... Having friends in high place can help solve problems I guess *shrugs*

@Neirra: Well, enjoy to the fulless the time you have with her, and perhaps try to give her less solid food, it may help her.

gremlin 07-04-2011 01:44 PM

I'm not too sure what my mom is going to do now.
I think that she might take her to a third vet to confirm it. If not then... I really don't know what she's going to do.

gremlin 07-04-2011 01:45 PM

We tried to feed her so many things.
We changed the dry food twice when we thought the food was making her sick at first. Then we started to feed her wet food, she then shortly after refused that. We even tried feeding her cat food and she turned it away. She won't even eat treats or if we drop food on the ground she won't go to eat it.
We put the food to her face and she turns her face away.

Hey there Rose.

Rosekitten 07-04-2011 01:49 PM

gremlin 07-04-2011 01:51 PM

I could certainly be better, but I can't do much about my current situation. How are you?

Nefer 07-04-2011 01:51 PM

Hello Rose!
*Look at date* Oh wow, already july 4th O_O

gremlin 07-04-2011 01:52 PM

gremlin 07-04-2011 01:56 PM

My stomach is getting mad at me for not eating.

littl3chocobo 07-04-2011 01:58 PM

i feel sick, i may go to bed soon.....blurgh

Nefer 07-04-2011 01:59 PM

You really need to go eat Neirra lol.

Urg...poor Choco, perhaps sleeping is indeed a good idea, you may feel better when getting up.

littl3chocobo 07-04-2011 02:03 PM

maybe....hey, could i do an art trade or a bribe to get nefer to doodle my avi? i want to get an artist's opinion on what it looks like...well, other than my own, and i don't do forms so a free shop is out of the question

Nefer 07-04-2011 02:04 PM

@Choco: Uh? You want me to draw your avi? xD I'm not that good though *points to sig*

littl3chocobo 07-04-2011 02:06 PM

so, it's not about art it's bout what you /see/ it could be a stick figure and i could tell from the added or removed wiggly bits what s important to you

it's just that telling me doesn't work, something about losing in the translation, but pictures /are/ and so i can understand that easily
