Poggio 06-25-2011 11:56 PM

Ah, XD that was another problem, again but the same basic problem. For my school most of the internships came from Ny and I again didnt have a car.

Mirror Gardens 06-26-2011 12:00 AM

*jumps onto Poggio's back and clings to her* What kinda internshirps were there in your field?...I mean hi! *snuggles*

Poggio 06-26-2011 12:03 AM

Well the one I sent Hyo was one I was going to apply for but its in winston salem. Its a graphics and print internship. The other was with an entry level graphic design firm. If I had a car I could have done one at Marvel or Scholastics or even Peguin books.

Mirror Gardens 06-26-2011 12:05 AM

*sighs* I still think Hyo's a dummy for choosing that other internship.

Nefer 06-26-2011 12:07 AM

Ahh ok, I see, the car problem... Personally I had rent a chamber for 4 months in Mtl back when I did my internships, most people had to do that, but then again since our work was paid like any normal employee it wasn't that bad ^^;

Poggio 06-26-2011 12:08 AM

I wish he had taken one with an art department. I honestly wanted to do the Dreamworks one. I just didnt have time to their portfolio on top of thesis.

Nefer 06-26-2011 12:12 AM

I envy you guys now... I wish my program involved more arts than maths and just plain programming...

Poggio 06-26-2011 12:13 AM

XD I went to an art school, what school did you go to?

Mirror Gardens 06-26-2011 12:14 AM

Indeed. I'll be surprised if the internship he chose ends up helping him at all.
@Nefer: Rent a chamber?

Nefer 06-26-2011 12:15 AM

A normal University, pretty much a program for imaging (video games, medical imaging, and the such), but we only used basic programming liek C++, OpenGl and the such, no 3DMax Maya etc., so meaning no art job...

@Mirror: Uh, yes? xD It's like renting an apartment, but it's just a bedroom...

Poggio 06-26-2011 12:17 AM

Ah I am not fluent in those programs most of the people in my department used zbrush. I do know photoshop, illustrator, and a bit of indesign. I wish I knew flash.

@ Mirror: I know I think hes trying to do what I am trying to do a little which is prove his education was worth it. The thing is his was hes just looking in the wrong direction as to what to do with it. Im taking my time. Also he told me he was going back to school

Nefer 06-26-2011 12:19 AM

I know the adobe suite (Illustrator, Photoshop and the such) but I didn't learn it at University, so apparently it doesn't count for a job ^^; And I did one course in Flash, quite fun actually ^^ It was an optional course in the Art department actually xD

littl3chocobo 06-26-2011 12:29 AM

is it alive in here?

Nefer 06-26-2011 12:31 AM

*poke herself* Ouch... Apparently yes, no zombies spotted so far ^^;

Hey there Choco! How are you doing this fine, urr...Night/Morning?

Poggio 06-26-2011 12:37 AM

I took two digtal art classes but what i really needed I learned from youtube. I know how to make a stick figure walk in flash. xD.

Hello choco how are you?

littl3chocobo 06-26-2011 12:37 AM

tired as hell, slept for thirteen hours i still feel strung out, doctor said i needed another week and i believe him now *shrugs* oh well, i made 60-70 bucks last night so i can totally take i t

Nefer 06-26-2011 12:47 AM

Lol, well at least you know how to use Flash Poggio! Personally we did some animation (normal, not stick though xD Uh...well my last one was a stick character in a normal environment, but still xD), and a website...

And youch, guess your body is doing a shutting down Choco O_O I take it you won't work next week afterall then?

Nefer 06-26-2011 02:03 AM

Apparently...Everyone decided to flee here as well ^^;

Moonless Midnight 06-26-2011 10:04 AM

Morning all and hey again Nefer XD

Nefer 06-26-2011 10:06 AM

Hey Moon! ...again xD

I'm not going to ask how and what you're doing since I alreeady...Oh wait I didn't yet! xD So, how are you doing this fine cloudy morning? xD

Moonless Midnight 06-26-2011 10:09 AM

lol cloudy? It's bright and sunny where I am XD I'm doing fine...just annoyingly waiting for the reply to one of my commissions so that i can finish hers and then start on another one that will be easier since it'll be only line art...and then after that i have to work on a full body coloured again...and then a pixel doll...and then I'll ahve to work on the two things I have to award the ppl for my art auction XD

Nefer 06-26-2011 10:31 AM

xDD
Gosh, you're busy with art lately! Almost makes it feels like school wasn't over yet and you're full of assignments xD

Moonless Midnight 06-26-2011 10:34 AM

tell me about it...actually this is busier than school cause at school most of my stuff is in class work with hardly any homework being in an art school and all >.>

Nefer 06-26-2011 10:36 AM

Lol lucky you, back in the days when I was at University (I make it sounds far far away while it's actually less than a year ago xD) we used to have almost 40 hours per week of stuff outside of courses, most of the time I went to school the saturday to finish some teamwork and the such, once in a while the sunday too O_O

Moonless Midnight 06-26-2011 10:38 AM

lol well what kind of course did you take? CAuse that's still the norm as long as it's not an arts course...that's not animation or illustration...those two courses it's normal to not sleep sometimes and like stay at school overnight sleeping in the halls XD

Nefer 06-26-2011 10:41 AM

xDD

Well I had a program that's pretty much a mix of maths and computing, and it's mainly the computing course (or the computing courses with lot of maths in it...we had a lot of mix lol) that took all that time, because apparently teachers don't realise you have more than one course and that even if you have 2 weeks or a month to do your work you have a good 3 courses at LEAST that have similar work too, therefore you end up with a lot of stuff to finish at the same time... I actually used to stay at school until 9-10PM (aka when the bus stopped arriving xD) some of the days to be sure we'd manage to finish everything... That and working each on our side...MSN was a bless back then xD

Moonless Midnight 06-26-2011 10:52 AM

@Nefer: Well that's why you had alot of work XD Cause you took that kind of course XD The arts courses are a bit more lax when it comes to homework BUT it's not that they're easier cause even if we get less assignments/homework than you each of our assignments are worth at a minimum of 10% of our total grade and at max 30-35% of our total grade >.>

Or in the example of my Figurative Sculpting Class...2 projects each worth 50% of my grade O.<

Nefer 06-26-2011 10:55 AM

O_O
Oh youch... Kinda like the Flash course I took...but then again it was in the art department xD

But then again...We had exams that were worth around 25% in mid-term and 35% in finals...and our grades depends on the class's average, you're the same as the average = C, so getting B and up was quite difficult especially since we had some people very good in maths and some other who had programming courses in college before... So yup, I don't have many B and even less A, lol. Though I have a lot of C and D+ xD

Moonless Midnight 06-26-2011 11:10 AM

>.< Ouch that's a pain. We decide the average of our classes though the class average is usually Bs XD I tend to get high Bs (between 75-79) and sometimes low As (80-85)

gonna be slow replying now since i finally got the reply back from my commissioner >.>

Nefer 06-26-2011 11:13 AM

Lol, good luck with the commision then!

And ya, I noticed the difference when having class in another department, I managed to get some B and A because of that xD Well I got a couple in the computing and maths courses, but very rarely...and the worst is that we had to keep above 2.0 (C) in average of all our course otherwise we needed to have a trimester of only retaken courses to raise our average O_O

Moonless Midnight 06-26-2011 11:31 AM

O-o dang that's bad >.<

This is why they invented reading week >.> To give students a break before they contemplate suicide XD Cause you just know there are some ppl that may contemplate that if things get to stressful for them >.>

Nefer 06-26-2011 11:33 AM

xDD
Lol ya, we were pretty much joking by saying we'd commit suicide in groups xD

And I think it's called break-week here (litteral translation from french to english lol), but then again it's more for the teachers who go on vacations to the south while students try finishing homeworks since they don't have course at the same time xD

Reyoki 06-26-2011 11:52 AM

*wanders in* g'morning all.

Nefer 06-26-2011 11:53 AM

Good morning Rey ^^ *Waves*

Feeling good today?

Reyoki 06-26-2011 11:55 AM

'm still kinda tired. I woke up not too long ago.

Here's my outfit for today.

Nefer 06-26-2011 11:57 AM

Ah ok, personally I'm fine, even though I don't understand why I am since I woke up at 9AM...and went to sleep at 5:30AM xD

Ohhh, love the eyes and pants! O.O

Lauv Keiko 06-26-2011 12:02 PM

i am here! whoever misses me will be kissed because I'm about to go to bed!

Nefer 06-26-2011 12:07 PM

Lol, should I say I wish I'd never see you again then? xD

Hello...and bye Lauv! xD

Lauv Keiko 06-26-2011 12:10 PM

*kisses the reyo*
