You did one once? Neat!

XD I just liked that the video was done by the guy who introduced them in that area, and was making jobs for people and stuff with them. The introduction was even helping girls to go to school because they didn't have to take the veggies in every day, and having more to sell gave their family more money for school for kids. When I was young there were times when my family lived really rough, and without real electricity. Here, we use an ice chest, or just stick the food outside on cold winter days, if the fridge isn't available, but in the hot and dry areas, those aren't options. lol </nerd>

Here are some articles. 1 2

I like the first article. It explains some things that are interesting to me.

ml1201 01-02-2015 09:23 PM

That would also be good for someone who doesn't use electricity too. XD

Tam I am 01-02-2015 09:33 PM

Only in a hot and non-humid area.

ml1201 01-02-2015 09:58 PM

Well, true. Maybe some place like Arizona, which I have family there. x'D

Tam I am 01-02-2015 10:07 PM

Would proly work there, especially if it were breezy.

ml1201 01-03-2015 12:03 AM

Well, they live in the dessert, so no idea how breezy it is there. x'D

daikokunyo 01-03-2015 05:32 AM

Deserts and breezes move not in one sphere.

ml1201 01-03-2015 09:16 AM

So there is only one 's' in desert. x'D Why does there have to be two words with identical spell except with double one letter? *sigh*

Lawtan 01-03-2015 01:22 PM

English! \o/

(Translation: the closest thing to Western Pidgin/tradespeak while still being a comprehensible language)

I found a quote I like:

"If there is a problem somewhere, this is what happens. Three people will try to do something concrete to settle the issue. Ten people will give a lecture analyzing what the three are doing. One hundred people will commend or condemn the ten for their lecture. One thousand people will argue about the problem. And one person- only one- will involve himself in the true solution that he is too busy to listen to any of it.

Now... which person are you?"

Really? The ones I've lived in were pretty windy. Nasty dry wind.

Lawtan 01-03-2015 04:29 PM

I like that quote, Tam...
I want to be the one person, or one of the three...but not there yet...

ml1201 01-03-2015 06:02 PM

I think I'd be one of the three if I don't know the solution or a plausible solution anyways. ^^;

Ginger 01-04-2015 04:50 PM

I wish laundromats had hot water and tea. I'm sitting here waiting for our clothes to dry and I'm parched.

ml1201 01-04-2015 08:22 PM

And the drinks are outragously priced, so no good getting a drink there. I'm lucky since the one near where I live has a BigLots just a few doors down, so if I need a drink for a buck or less I can get one. XD

Tam I am 01-05-2015 05:33 PM

Of the different groups, I'm usually the one over telling somebody causing the issue off and getting sneered at for it. I never thought I'd wind up the calm fury type back when I was a kid that exploded and screamed and cursed.

Ginger, did you survive? *sympathy*

Den 01-07-2015 07:12 PM

Two more sleeps, then I'm back living in Iowa, under the 'rents' roof.

ml1201 01-07-2015 07:21 PM

Err...What now? (is confused about how you're basing time, but understands the rented place thing)

sleeps = nights. two more nights, in which I sleep, and then I leave for Iowa.

'Rents = parents

*hugga Law*

ml1201 01-07-2015 09:24 PM

Okay, then I didn't understand any of it. x'D When I had first read that I thought it was two more days of you traveling while asleep before you got there. o///o

Lawtan 01-07-2015 10:23 PM

(Not really meant for commentary...just for some reason typing it reduces the my stomach's churning)

ml1201 01-07-2015 10:36 PM

x'D
Too bad you can't filter gifs out of that search. ^^;

daikokunyo 01-08-2015 10:20 AM

Pictures are horrAble! Like I can go through squeams-inducing text in a screwed-up novel because you can skip lines/paragraphs and not imagine while you read, but with images and movies there's no escape!:s-sick:

Tam I am 01-08-2015 02:48 PM

*read Lawtan's spoiler* *is now passed out on the floor*

*Waves some salts under Tam's nose*

Well, it has helped me develop a character better, as well, so...

ml1201 01-08-2015 06:13 PM

Yeah, no? Not going to do that for any of my characters, or at least not willingly. x'D

XD I wasn't complaining or lecturing. I was trying to be funny. My brain wasn't too good yet yesterday, though, so I probably didn't do a good job.:p-laugh:

ml1201 01-09-2015 02:57 PM

*pets Tam's snail*
owo

Lawtan 01-10-2015 02:50 AM

Didn't read it as complaint - read it as comedic faint.

Tam I am 01-10-2015 07:07 PM

Yayyyyy! I can has humour! XD

KytchynWitche 01-10-2015 09:53 PM

Books! *runs in and snuggles a shelf* My old friends!

Lawtan 01-11-2015 12:02 AM

(First page has the Library bit - it's decently big)

(Also, wish I knew where to begin doing research with Africa and Eastern Europe/Middle East...as in non-Levant/non-Mediterranean Persia...Considering the former is a continent of many different cultures, and the latter has had more invasions than I can think of...)

Tam I am 01-12-2015 06:44 PM

Begin in the middle.

ml1201 01-12-2015 07:21 PM

Oh, Tam, I want to make sure its a tea spoon for the baking soda and vinegar for the shampoo and conditioner?

I use a teaspoon of the soda for the shampoo, and a tablespoon of the vinegar for the conditioner.

ml1201 01-13-2015 11:28 AM

Alright, thanks! I'm going to try and get some later today which is why I was asking. XD

Tam I am 01-13-2015 03:03 PM

Welcome!

Also, I really wish one could block telemarketer/donation seeker calls the way one can block people on the net.

ml1201 01-13-2015 09:00 PM

That would be nice, what with all the phishing calls I get. =.=;

Is that a serious, literal answer to my question? In other words, I should start by looking up the history of cultures located physically in the middle of Africa?

Tam I am 01-14-2015 04:49 PM

Phishing calls? Is that the ones that there's nothing there but a machine?

Sure, why not? Sometimes, a random start is actually the best start, even if it's just to show one that you really, actually need to start over there. Besides, the middle of Africa has some pretty odd and interesting stuff going on in its past. XD
