....i...didn't know there was so much involved with mas

only 1, 7 and 8 actually are things i'd consider

Kaderin Triste 12-22-2019 11:26 PM

If I could get out of the xmas kidnapping, I would only bother with #1. And maybe #2 because I like having pretty nails. Though after struggling with my stamping polishes for the last few hours, I'll probably just throw a holo top coat on and call it good. XP
#8 is more a thing that just generally needs done, but I'd rather take care of it before being kidnapped so I don't leave the cats alone with a full garbage can. Not that they get into it tbh, I just don't like leaving for more than 12 hours without leaving the house at least semi-clean.

littl3chocobo 12-22-2019 11:32 PM

wait, your cats are going to be alone for more than a half day? are you going to have someone check in on them just in case they run out of food or tip their bowls and whn they need litter changed and to be played with?

Kaderin Triste 12-22-2019 11:41 PM

I do have a friend to check in on them, but idk if I'll bother with it (trying to arrange getting my keys to them and getting them back is annoying and not convenient tbh). At MOST, I'll be gone for around 24-28 hours and the cats have been fine with that in the past.
It's nearly impossible for them to tip their bowls and I always make sure they have plenty of food (usually a bit more than they'll need).
And the litter box will survive without being scooped for 1 day. The cats aren't quite that picky. And they also have lots of toys to play with like balls and stuff, though they're not super energetic and are okay with playing on their own if they need to burn off a little energy.

I don't think I had anyone bother watching them last year and I probably handled the separation the worst out of all of us.

littl3chocobo 12-22-2019 11:43 PM

i couldn't do that to something that depends on me. it feels really wrong

you and i live very different lives

Kaderin Triste 12-22-2019 11:47 PM

Oh believe me, I get massive amounts of anxiety, barely sleep at all, and am just not okay with the situation. Unfortunately, I get that way even with someone checking in on the cats, so it doesn't make a real difference.

KittyBeary 12-22-2019 11:50 PM

Fun night we're having ;u; /s

Kaderin Triste 12-23-2019 12:26 AM

Hehe...loads of fun indeed.
XP

KittyBeary 12-23-2019 12:30 AM

Well, I was meaning on my side of the planet. xux This month has just been full of stress and emotional drain.

Kaderin Triste 12-23-2019 12:33 AM

I'd say that's relatable.

Hopefully your stresses will be going away soon!

KittyBeary 12-23-2019 05:29 AM

Thanks ;n; I'm hoping next month is better

Kaderin Triste 12-23-2019 11:52 AM

Ugh. I feel sick in my stomach and can't tell if it's from all the stress and anxiety of Christmas or if I'm just really hungry...

Stabbsworth 12-23-2019 12:53 PM

toast will probably help with that.

Kaderin Triste 12-23-2019 01:08 PM

No bread around. Did have a clementine orange at work though.
Turns out the answer is "both".
It's stress AND hunger.
XP
I can't wait for Christmas to be over.

Stabbsworth 12-23-2019 01:08 PM

ah, yeah. that'll make sense.

Stabbsworth 12-23-2019 01:11 PM

actual grumbling: both my ears are somewhat blocked. i can still hear out of 'em.

smaller grumbling: had to report something to the head admin of a big epithet erased discord. it was about calling implied native people of a tribal alternate universe monkeys and feral. good thing i have developer mode turned on tbh.

I don't know why.... But we were forced to read it in high school.

In addition to it being a bitingly sharp work of satire, it's also an introduction to the philosophy surrounding the Malthusian catastrophe. (Indeed, it was written by Thomas Malthus.) It really does deserve to be required reading for people preparing to be adults, but it also needs the teacher to be competent enough to actually explain what it's all about, in no small part because it's satire. It is of course ideal if you can figure it out on your own because then you get the full rhetorical impact of the piece, but teenagers aren't guaranteed to have the necessary background to figure it out on their own.

If you've read and understood Malthus, then the character of Ebenezer Scrooge should make a lot more sense instead of just being an arbitrarily harsh and greedy villain.

Kaderin Triste 12-23-2019 04:02 PM

Almost forgot that I need to wrap Derpy's christmas presents!

XD
Yep...I buy my stuffed dragon baby presents...
Lol

Biomecha 12-23-2019 06:11 PM

Sometimes wish we can switch layers from the background base layer to the top base.

Kory 12-23-2019 06:21 PM

D-d-d-d-drop the base

Or... is this a different kind of "base"?

Coda 12-23-2019 06:57 PM

Ava is correct: if you want to do that, use an item like Second Skin and use the blank base.

Biomecha 12-23-2019 07:02 PM

No...like the Fiery Cloak has below base layers. If I want to wear those layers on top of items in the above base layers, it's not possible.

Merskelly Metalien 12-23-2019 07:11 PM

<:c I have a license now. Meaning I can legally drive a car places. And now I have no excuse left in not getting a job. ;-; Too bad nobody wants to hire me, and I don't want to work in a place with people in it...and I have issues with selling myself because I got self-loathing tendencies and an unhealthy view of myself and an unhealthy routine in general... ;u; </3 ...I miss my therapist's guidance..

Oh, I see. Well, there's no fundamental reason our engine COULDN'T support doing that. It's just out of scope of the way it was designed. I can put it on the list of things to consider (as part of an "advanced" mode) once we get the current editor upgrade ironed out.

Biomecha 12-23-2019 07:28 PM

That would actually be really cool if it was possible.

Merskelly Metalien 12-23-2019 07:54 PM

Welp. Now everyone is celebrating my getting of the license. I'm not allowed to be sad and secluded in a room anymore... ;u; *largest inhale and sigh ever of 2019*

Edit: + It's Tamale time. >:T

KittyBeary 12-23-2019 09:09 PM

Well, things are more peaceful today, and stuff is finally getting taken care of.

So hoping this week is better and Xmas is actually good.

littl3chocobo 12-23-2019 10:38 PM

maybe if you are lucky you can drive to a different secluded place to avoid everyone?

reno!

Kory 12-24-2019 12:30 AM

OOOOO! I love tamales!

There's a lovely place at my local farmer's market that makes really good corn tamales.
*drool*

Hahaha, I like that.

I really can relate though, parties haven't felt the same anymore since all my friends grew out of the children's party games. Hit the pot, pin the tail on the donkey, run sheep run, that kind of stuff. Everyone had a blast back then, nowadays it's just small talk. :p-grin:

Stabbsworth 12-24-2019 10:55 AM

nice.

i wanna become the one gay idiot that has the license in my friend group, ahah.

Kaderin Triste 12-24-2019 04:20 PM

What I should be doing: taking out the trash and walking over to the store for cat food and litter

What I'm actually doing: hand sewing Derpy's new Christmas skirt

Death by Mirrors 12-24-2019 04:48 PM

Attention, this is the cat police!
Do your cats still have food and litter?

Kaderin Triste 12-24-2019 05:00 PM

Have just returned from the store!
The litter situation was starting to get pretty dire. Food would have been okay until tomorrow except that tomorrow is Christmas so all the stores are closed.

Also picked up cheese hot pockets for me for a late lunch since I can guarantee there will be no dinner tonight and pretty much only potatoes tomorrow for me to eat because my family likes to just ignore that I'm a vegetarian and am not interested in prime rib, ham, bacon, or turkey.

littl3chocobo 12-24-2019 08:24 PM

a week's worth of both ^^ also nip because i am a monster who lets my cats make bad choices

Kaderin Triste 12-24-2019 08:30 PM

Awww....nip for the kitties!
I might spoil mine with a bit of nip when I get home tomorrow night.

Unfortunately, no, I miscalculated and didn't buy enough cat food! ^^() I'm having to improvise for my kitties today, but they'll be fine until I can make it to the pet store tomorrow.

Stabbsworth 12-25-2019 10:34 AM

mutters quietly
would be nice if my sister actually texted me and got to know me.

literally got two hoodies that i had to trade to mum because the pockets don't fit the entirety of my phone in them, and i don't want my phone to end up broken just because some git can't make pockets probably up in production.

i got more pjs though.

i still need more hoodies. :/

Kaderin Triste 12-25-2019 12:44 PM

Wait...did your sis send you hoodies? Would kill for a sister that cared that much (even if they aren't quite what you need). Mine doesn't even bother with a "merry Christmas" text.

Also, ugh. I barely slept at all. My back hurts, my neck hurts, my eyes are dry and tired, my stomach is a knot of anxiety. Can I go home yet? Can Christmas be over now?

Stabbsworth 12-25-2019 12:55 PM

it takes my mum a while to get a text back from her tbh. ik that she can't really spell too well, but, y'know, i'm halfway decent at making out misspelt words and such.

also we had someone from jehovah's witnesses knocking at our door. eugh.
