*mopey* me no wanna have to sign off now and go to work. I slept in later (I actually slept till my alarm went off at 10) than I wanted to. ^^"
I guess I should go get ready for work. Hope everyone has a good day and I'll be around later after I get home. |
[cornflowerblue]Mornin' mah peeps *yawn*
(More like middle of the night for the Kiddiss.) I don't know why, but I've been sleeping a LOT more since Sassy's doctor visit last week. Maybe my body is trying to make up for lost sleep? I do know that I'm comforted by having Sassy sleep on the pillow right next to mine - and at least one kitteh sleeping on my legs and/or feet (they can't resist the blankie dubbed "The Pink Cloud" :3 It's shaggy fake fur in baby pink- great for "kneading dough"). So, I tried to backlog the thread, but DAYAM you guys posted a ton!! ~Kat looks at the post count of peeps who joined after her and is just baffled by she sheer volume Õ_Ò ~ Anybody awake and online? I am, but I seem to be all alone.

Hiya, Red!! How ya been? How's your week going so far? If I stop posting suddenly, it's because my Phenergan kicked in >.< |
Doing all right. I had my blood test and it was only moderately painful.
|
Do you mean a blood draw, or something else?
I have a pretty severe phobia of needles, which is not good when you're required to have blood tests on a regular basis (it used to be weekly when I first got sick). If you haven't already done this, get some Emla cream. It's by prescription only, but it's usually pretty cheap if you get your scripts at some place like Wal-Mart. It REALLY helps with the pain of the needles *nod* What are they looking for with your blood tests? |
It was a blood draw. There really isn't any pain, except for the sticking. Once it's over, it's over. I'm not totally sure what they were looking for, though I think it was several things.
|
*UGH!* The sticking is horrible!
Why the heck didn't they tell you that they are looking for? That's just not right IMO I can't look when the vampire sticks me. I ALWAYS tell them DON'T tell me right before you do thar stick. They always want to say "Okay, just a little prick"... so I have to tell them as they are prepping everything "DO NOT TELL ME!" I have rolling veins that shrink when I'm cold, nervous, or both. It's usually both... I smear Emla cream on every spot where they might do the stick. Inner elbow, top of hand, side of hand/wrist... done on both arms. They usually have to do the back of my hand :/ I've squirmed my way out of quarters draws and am down to one draw a year *YaY!* Also, the only phlobotonist {spelling?} I ever trusted just recently moved back to Phoenix *WooHoo!* It's been a nightmare these last 5 years she was gone. |
I'm sure they would have told me if I had asked. These days I just don't bother. I have bad veins too, usually it takes two to three times to strike blood. It only took once this time.
|
That's good that they got you on the first try this time ^_^
If you're on a lot of meds or a new med, they are most likely checking you liver function- maybe kidneys, too. And, they're most likely doing a CBC. If it was anything specific, the doc would most likely talk with you about it. *nod* |
