I kinda miss having my little tag-along pokemon too. Why did they take that out for the recent games? I thought it was fun. I liked talking to the little things. *Seeing no other pokemon immediately willing to take on the role of playmate, Mighty decides to practice his ember on a nearby lone bush.* |
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c5...__by_Smidy.gif http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c5...eaves2-1-1.gif aw i wasn't the only one who liked the pokemon following you D: no idea why they removed it http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c5...ves2-1-1-1.gif |

And random comment, but I was watching a nature show that talked about the Pika, little big-eared rodent thing that looks like it could be related to the chinchilla, and it does sort of make this little "chu" noise. |

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/3/3f/Spr_5b_058.png "Mighty" 4000 hp Growlithe ~ M ~ Lv 8 ~ 750 xp Bite :: Roar :: Ember I still think the actual Pika might have had something to do with it. ;). They are cute. Just google image "Pika." I love the way they look with faces stuffed with grass. |

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/3/3f/Spr_5b_058.png "Mighty" 4000 hp Growlithe ~ M ~ Lv 8 ~ 1000 xp Bite :: Roar :: Ember I guess they thought it was cute enough not to Westernize it, and it was relatively easy to read and pronounce for people used to English letter sounds. I wonder why they do that sometimes too, especially when the Japanese names seem to do the job fine. |
http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/c/cd/Spr_4p_196_s.png 5000HP Espeon ~ F ~ Lv:43 ~ Exp: 2ooo Swift :: Psycic :: Psybeam:: Confusion there was this seminar thingy at the one and only con i went to.. it said they changed the names of anime (and game characters) that 'seemed' complicated so children can understand them.. and then they watched as children found the japanese pokemon names and were using those instead. =w=, |
http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/3/3f/Spr_5b_058.png "Mighty" 4000 hp Growlithe ~ M ~ Lv 8 ~ 1250 xp Bite :: Roar :: Ember People underestimate kids a lot I think. It's like how "Philosopher" was changed to "Sorcerer" in the first Harry Potter book title, because they didn't think kids would "get it." It's not like the guy had a very big role besides making the stone, and the Philosopher's Stone is a real life thing (in myth and such, that is) and people did try to make it, so why make the change? |

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/3/3f/Spr_5b_058.png "Mighty" 4000 hp Growlithe ~ M ~ Lv 8 ~ 1500 xp Bite :: Roar :: Ember Yeah. My mom has been after me to write some books for kids on dogs or something that actually teach things since so many kids' books are so basic. Rose morph into the wall again? *Mighty looks at his toasted bush, now a couple of smoldering twigs and puffs himself up, proud of himself.* |

I hate that they take good classic books and edit them for to make them more politicially correct and to make them more suitable for kids ._. dude thats disneys job not the governments D< let disney dumb down shiz for the kiddies and let us adults have our originals! |
http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/3/3f/Spr_5b_058.png "Mighty" 4000 hp Growlithe ~ M ~ Lv 8 ~ 1750 xp Bite :: Roar :: Ember Heh. Never thought of it that way. It seems to work for the movies. :) I heard some place was editing "Twas the Night Before Christmas" to take out the part of Santa smoking. Years from now people will be searching for the original and talking about how the censorship reflects on our sheltered cultural values. |
