No, I use to be on Gaia under two different names but I have kind of grown out of most of them. Just here and the one called Facebook.

Tiva 04-21-2012 11:08 AM

Cazzidy! You are on pretty late.

College student, I work full time during the summer but with my major it is hard to get a job during the year. Anthropology requires a lot of study time.

Tiva 04-21-2012 11:55 AM

I don't it is just that I have to so I can pay for things over the school year. My Mum basically stated that she will give me 200 bucks a semester for gas and supplemental books. Extra food and anything fun I have to buy, which is fine with me I typically make 2 grand or so during the summer.

Tiva 04-21-2012 12:09 PM

Yeah more than he needs to at times. He gets paid for national guard and 'managing' the public advertising pages for his mom's business. At the beginning of the year I have more but after Christmas he normally picks up on buying things.
*sighs* Too many family members to buy for at Christmas..... *Spends over 300 dollars at christmas* 7 20 dollar gifts for nieces nephews and my siblings then the rest gets split between my mum, stepdad, two best friends and Chris.

Obbiesan 04-21-2012 12:23 PM

Ouch thats a lot of money for Christmas presents tiva >w< my family does a raffle for presents so we only have to buy for one or two people

Tiva 04-21-2012 12:37 PM

It is more because the 5 kids I have to buy for, all under 13, and that my sister's get mad if I don't because my mum won't put my name of their gift to them.
I wish we had a raffle, but the adult to child ratio doesn't work out well. Nor does the spending ratio. My mum and stepdad can afford to spend a lot, as can my middle sister because her husband is an E6 (Ithink) and they have a lot of money saved. My Oldest sister and her husband don't... they normally end up having to borrow money from my parents when they come up from Fort Polk because they bought things before the economy busted and all of their buys went bad (Reverse mortgage on two cars and their house went down by a lot).
It is a lot to spend on my family, and I wish they didn't put the pressure on me but I have gotten use to it. I budget it out to where I have it saved and keep to the budget but it still is sad to look at it after December.

Obbiesan 04-21-2012 12:40 PM

I can imagine there are like no kids in my family =/ mainly due to my extended family is all in the south so i really only have about 2-3 people to buy for with the raffle

Tiva 04-21-2012 12:45 PM

Nice, mine is close-ish. I just don't see anyone because I am 5 hours away from home most of the year.

Obbiesan 04-21-2012 12:53 PM

i hardly see my moms side of the family >w> they dont really do much with/for me

Tiva 04-21-2012 12:59 PM

Eh, I don't see or speak to most of my actual Dad's family. Or a lot of my Mom's for that matter. It is mostly my stepdad's family.

Obbiesan 04-21-2012 01:06 PM

Yea i mainly see my dads side of the family

Cazzidy needs to post more.. I get up in the morning now thanks to work so I may be able to drag Alpha up to chat with you.

Cazzidy 05-21-2012 11:38 PM

Alpha 05-23-2012 12:15 PM

*scratches head and wanders in* Well, today was an early day for me, I just kinda forgot to get on Tris after my workout. And you and me both Cazz, I'll be lucky to get one of each item.....

So, how have you been?

Cazzidy 05-23-2012 07:40 PM

Alpha 05-24-2012 08:46 PM

Nope, been busy, and won't really be on for a good two months or so.....I've been doing better though.

And sick week? Oh noes! Hopefully nothing bad.

Cazzidy 05-25-2012 10:50 AM

Alpha 05-25-2012 11:10 AM

Well, bit of both. My basic training for the Army National Guard.

And not too bad then, just hate the down feeling overall, eh?

Cazzidy 05-31-2012 12:47 AM

Alpha 05-31-2012 01:27 AM

It's voluntary. It's like enlisting for Active Service in the Army, but you work for the state *lives in US* instead of the Nation as a whole. Basically after all my training is finished I will be serving one weekend a month and two weeks a year up until I graduate from college and pursue a commission in the Active Armed Forces (namely the Army, not so big on the other branches of the US military, but that's just me).

Cazzidy 05-31-2012 01:30 AM

Alpha 05-31-2012 01:32 AM

Yeah, it's just the environment and the brotherhood is something that I thrive in and love. It's like nothing else. And for now, it will be the state. Once I get a commission for Active Duty as an officer hopefully after graduating college I will be released from my current contract and signed on a new one reporting within the structure of the Nation's Military.

Cazzidy 05-31-2012 01:34 AM

Alpha 05-31-2012 01:43 AM

Well, for the three months or so of officer training, some. She can visit though on weekends. Also, she and I have talked about it, and she says that when it comes to moving for my assignments she wants to move with me. Only time she and I would absolutely be apart would be whenever I deployed overseas. One thing I could do to limit that though would be to request an assignment in South Korea, Japan, or one of a few other places in the Asia/Pacific region. That, or possibly over in Europe.

Honestly though, being apart from Tiva is the hardest part of any training or assignment I have or would have. I can take the yelling, the physical exertion, the heat, long days, etc.

Cazzidy 05-31-2012 02:11 AM

Alpha 05-31-2012 11:20 AM

That she does. She and I are planning that by that point she and I will be married. Thanks for the wishes.

Hope the appointment goes/went well.
