I imagine it's probably better to wait until you have a more stable connection, than to waste any more time.

Quiet Man Cometh 06-17-2011 04:57 AM

I'll get there eventually.

Serra Britt 06-17-2011 05:07 AM

It really is a fun game. I want to play it more, I should really budget more time for it.

Suzerain of Sheol 06-17-2011 12:31 PM

o_O It is? Seriously?

Maybe I'm desensitized or something, having played hundreds of times. :|

I suppose that's good to hear, though.

Serra Britt 06-17-2011 01:17 PM

It's entirely possible I'm biased, it being your game and all Suzerain... I do really like what I've played so far though.

Suzerain of Sheol 06-17-2011 03:29 PM

I suppose I'll have to wait for Quiet's university-honed critical opinion. :p

So, have you played more Serra, or are you still in Amilia's flashback?

Serra Britt 06-17-2011 08:37 PM

Still in the flashback, I was at a friend's since last night until a few hours ago.

Quiet Man Cometh 06-18-2011 10:01 PM

Found the disappearing issue. Tried downloading the exe again and it turns out my Norton anitvirus has been deleting it because it's threatening somehow. Anti-virus can be picky so I'm not sure if there's an issue or not but that appears to be why my downloads are missing.

Checked the program history. It's listed the source site's reputation as "bad" so that's why it may be blocking my downloads. Pre-emptive strike by paranoid anti-virus.

Suzerain of Sheol 06-18-2011 10:15 PM

I can't imagine that's anything but a false alarm. I mean, I can't know with certainty and would feel horrible if you got a virus from it, but from my past experiences with Norton, it sounds like it just being hyper-vigilant.

Quiet Man Cometh 06-18-2011 10:32 PM

Anti-Virus for dummies you could say. I have the Helm of computer guardians. Must be Vigilant! I should be able to retrive the files though, seeing as they are in quarrantine, apparently.

Suzerain of Sheol 06-18-2011 10:43 PM

Yeah, the first thing I did when I got my new laptop was to eradicate every trace of Norton off of it. I use Avira, which is free and works fairly well, and doesn't give many false alarms, or annoy me beyond a pop-up once per day asking me to pay for the special version.

Quiet Man Cometh 06-18-2011 10:57 PM

I've liked Norton so far. It does the job and hasn't irritated me with anything this particular incident, and I've had it for 2 years so far.

Suzerain of Sheol 06-18-2011 11:33 PM

My biggest complaint with it is actually how much of the computer's resources it takes up, and how much junk it installs on your harddrive that you'll never use.

But, if it works for you, all the power to you. I just don't see the point of spending money on AV when there are free programs that do the same job (more or less.)

But, this is way off-topic. Back to praising my game design, damn it!

Quiet Man Cometh 06-18-2011 11:37 PM

Heh, I like the screen shots. :).

And yeah, apparently that was a big issue with the original Norton. Supposedly that's been fixed, not that I'd really know.

Suzerain of Sheol 06-18-2011 11:44 PM

Oh, well, I haven't used Norton in years, so maybe it's better now.

And, were you able to recover the file from the quarantine?

Quiet Man Cometh 06-19-2011 12:12 AM

Haven't tried yet. Mad with it today. Try tomorrow.

On the game note, the little square characrers amuse me. :). 'Tis like someone stuff them into blocks and they don't quite fit.
