my high school offered Spanish, French, German, and Italian. But they didn't want to go through the same thing that I went through I the 9th grade (in previous threads) so they just said that as long as I take art classes (since world langusge and arts are together, for whatever reason) I can replace the use of a world language class
That's odd. I take art classes too. LOVE EM'! <3
My school offered Japanese, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Latin and Arabic.
They were going to get Mandarin the year I started home school. O 3O |
Wow. That's...awesome. I would have a field day there! xD
I would too, but I would fail it cause my brain has already been developed that it's no point for me to learn another language at school. I'm not the type of person that staying in class with a textbook and the feeling to memorize it (I have horrible memory, I suck at those memory games) would help me learn a language
I don't think it matters how old you are. Anyone can learn a language!
It was a pretty fantastic high school. I remember when I got there I was overwhelmed by the many options that were available to the students. There were so many to choose from~
I first started learning Japanese in my elementary school during a week called Culture Week (it was something that particular elementary school did). Each teacher got to choose a culture and the students would learn a little of the language, traditional art and so forth and so on. My teacher favored Japan. ♥ I have been in love ever since. |
I would be super excited. lol.
My sister and I now have a best friend who is Japanese. She teaches me a lot and so we really get a lot of opportunities. For instance, if things go well, the summer after I graduate hopefully I'll go visit Japan with her. |
That sounds fantastic!
I'll visit Japan some day, but I've already decided that there's no way I'm going to fly to Japan unless I'm in first class. Five hours in economy was enough for me, thank you very much. XD My Japanese teacher loved my best friend and me so much that she offered to take us to Japan with her. XD She would always go, "Yumisan, Saisan. You come to Japan with me this summer?" |
Lol, yeah, so my friend wills bring bento boxes to school for lunch and share with me! It's delicious. Plus I get to eat dinner at her house. I love sushi, which is one of the reasons I made it my username!
XD I've tried so many different types of sushi and sashimi, but I just can't like it. It has such an odd taste and texture.
Lol, my friend, Chiharu (call her Chi for short), makes good ramen. Her mom makes excellent everything else, but my favorite of everything I've tried would be yakisoba.
I love sushi [food] and asian food. its funny that I know how to use chopsticks but my friend who is asian (half Chinese half Korean) doesn't know how to use them XD
Lol, I mean... if we're looking into stereotypes, then it is odd, but you can't always judge a book by it's cover. xD
Although I do find that amusing. |

Then you can totally work with that. There are a ton of podcasts to improve vocabulary, not to mention games you can play.
