How're you today? |
I'm pretty good, glad it's Friday. ^^
You? |
Friday! 8D
I'm gewd. I just started a book called Daughter of Prophecy by Miles Owens. I don't usually like male writers (with a couple exceptions XD), but this one isn't bad so far. |
Well if you really like it then you should recommend it. ^^
Haha I don't discriminate. I don't pay attention to if the author's male or female and some of my favorite books are by male authors and some are by female authors. :O |
I'm not totally sure if I like it yet or not XD I think I'm only about done with the first chapter. I haven't had much time to work on it. It's not so much that I make an effort to avoid male writers, it's just nine times out of ten I prefer female writers. There's only a couple really favorite male authors that I have, and lots of females. XD Then again, that probably has has something to do with the fact that it seems like there's more female fantasy writers than males, and fantasy is the bulk of what I read.

Alright. c:
Hmm, I never really noticed. :O I read a lot of fantasy stuff too but I guess I don't pay much attention. xD |
Read Me! Name of Book [ Assassin's Apprentice ] Author [ Robin Hobb ] Category [ Fantasy ] Brief Summary [ "Young Fitz is the bastard son of the noble Prince Chivalry, raised in the shadow of the royal court by his father’s gruff stableman. He is treated like an outcast by all the royalty except the devious King Shrewd, who has him sectetly tutored in the arts of the assassin. For in Fitz’s blood runs the magic Skill–and the darker knowledge of a child raised with the stable hounds and rejected by his family. As barbarous raiders ravage the coasts, Fitz is growing to manhood. Soon he will face his first dangerous, soul-shattering mission. And though some regard him as a threat to the throne, he may just be the key to the survival of the kingdom." -- quoted from Robin Hobb's site. ] Reason for Recommendation [ The history is rich, the storyline is superb, the characterization is amazing. The characters in the story will stay with you long after you read the books. This is one of those books you can reread and discover new things. The highs and lows the main character experiences will have you emotionally involved, sucked in. It's hard to put down. ] |
Thanks for recommending! ^^
And now I have another book to read, every Friday you can download a free book with the Nook. U: But it's just a novella so it's short whoo. xD |
The book looks interesting! I'll have to check it out sometime. Is anyone else reading something? :3
|
-floats in, quickly- sorry, I have been busy with stuffs so I have not been around much. ^^;
|
Sadrain! Hey! How have you been? :D
|
Sushi :: I'm reading tons of stuff. xDD
Rainy :: It's alright. :] How are you? |
@M E W; Yeah. Me too, but my reading is slowing down drastically for some reason. I'm reading "Ape House" by Sara Gruen. Sounds silly but so far it's good. I've read another one of her books, "Water for Elephants" and really liked it.
