I might look into Rift more when I get a job. Right now I'm unemployed and planning my wedding has taken up most of my time. I am looking for jobs but I'm also in a small town and I don't drive so getting a job in the next city is tough if it isn't on a bus route for me. When I can though I might look at it. Cale is trying to get me into WoW by making a character on his account, but I still don't like the whole set up of WoW as I said before I like to be able to play solo without doing mass raids/quests.

Ragnarok Online is great in that sense for me. You can do quests if you want, but I never do. I just go around and do my own thing to level up and what not, get my characters maxed out. The private server I play on does have a cash shop for those that would like to donate but the items in it won't OP you. I like the wings in their donation shop and all they do is add the elemental spec to your character (flame wings give you fire attribute). Enough people sell them for regular currency though in the user marketplace, and I know where to make money fast, so you can still get the donation items without donating if you know where to go.

i think you'd personally like rift better, I played WoW for quite a few years before i left, end game was raiding and nothing else ... Also if your hubby hasn't tried rift you can use the link in my siggy and get him 7 free day as well ^^ Theres a ton of ex wow players in the game because they started hating WoW and its 12 year old community feel, among other things.

I know how it is though with a job.. i can only play cause Kano works. In a few months I'm starting college I don't have my licence et.. i need to get it before my permit runs out. =/ I'm also in a semi small town, theres a mall but it's hardly work there this is more of a farming community Dx

I will try the 7 day trial when I have some more money to my name, cause if I like it, then I'll want to continue it. But yeah, I'm in sort of a farming community as well... Cale and I bought his parents house because they moved in with his grandmother last year to help her out. It's out in cottage country though, and I was raised in the city, so it's taking me some time to get used to it, but I love it here. The only thing is that it being such a small town (not even a mall for another half hour driving), it's become difficult to find any work. I need to find something because there are just too many games I want to get my hands on and try out... Rift being one of them lol.

theres tons of games i wish i could buy but for now i'll stick with rift ^.^;
and thats true.. i know how that is, after we saw the video we had to wait a few months for the beta to open xD

and yeah.. small towns are hard pressed for jobs.. i hate it because my friend and my hubby both have jobs i swear the area here is more towards men having jobs .__. no one ever even bothers to call me back

I know how you feel, it seems like I've dropped off so many resumes, I rode the bus into the city (an hour bus ride) to get to the mall so I could apply a few places there as well, and nobody calls me back from anywhere. I think I'm going to revamp my resume before the next time I head out to apply everywhere again.

Rosekitten 05-12-2011 02:02 PM

I wish i had a printer about now, i'd print off resumes instead of wasting my time on the application .__-;

really in truth id still have a job if i never moved out of state to live in OH with my now ex husband -.- oh well lessons learned and all that. It's a shame gamestop won't hire me back though i was a great worker D<

Seloria 05-12-2011 04:24 PM

I had to quit a great job to move up here with Cale... Then I got a job working in the same office as him, but when they did some lay offs, I was one of them. Now I can't find a job anywhere.

I worked really hard at my old job too before moving up here. I worked for a clothing store and was next in line for a manager opening... when I left my best friend was working as one of my employees, I made sure that I trained her in everything and then guaranteed her my position. Since then a new store opened up and she got the manager position. I'm really happy for her, and I'm happy to be living up here with Cale so I don't have any regret or resentment about it but I wish I could find another job! lol... you'd think with 7 yrs retail experience, 2 of those as assistant manager, and another 1 1/2 yrs in personal account and debt management, as well as all that time having to deal with customer service... that I would be able to find a job easily!

Yeah that sucks though, especially after investing time into a job that could be your career... I wouldn't have minded staying with that company. I think there's one of their stores in the mall in the next city, I should spice up my resume to highlight what I did for them and take one there. Maybe I can get back into the same company and work my way up again. Then I'd be able to afford more games!!

I would love to work at GameStop, but the one close to my house doesn't hire very often. The one at the mall seems to hire fairly regularly, but I've heard that it's because they lay people off fairly regularly as well.

Here in Canada Gamestop is called EB Games... I should try applying at the one in the mall an hour away... The bus stops right in front of the mall so I could get there... I wonder if you get a discount on games for working there?
