Actually, the only reason why flying cars don't exist is because
A) the good designs were not supported.
B) having them in everyday life would require an overhaul on current civil engineering systems.
C) it takes more energy to get something up in the air.

(Honestly, with all the things we are pushing to change/etc...the second one especially annoys me)

They do supposedly know the genetics needed to make a human bird...but they don't have the ability to do anything with that yet (and you would have to kiss thumbs goodbye.
