To quote an old or dead comedian (I don't recall exactly who it was, but I want to say W.C. Fields): "Candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker!" XD

Actually, I'm a candid fiend - but mostly chocolates.
I do like Jujubes and Dots (Ghost Dots -my fave ^_^).
However, because of the Sjögren's, I almost always have a sugarfree starlight mint in my mouth :/
Why, oh why can't chocolate do what starlight mints do (keep my mouth from drying out)?!

Heh. No, I'm not American. I'm Canadian, and I vaguely recall going to a Walgreens once across the border somewhere either in Washington or Oregon. Not totally sure which. Despite living all of two hours or so from the border, I haven't been to the states in a while (unlike my sister and aunt who spend practically every other weekend in Seattle). The last time I was there was for a connection in Chicago on the way home from Sweden. That was 2009.

And just to be that much more annoying, I'm female. ;)

I don't know a lot about what can be found her versus the US, but I do know that friends bring things up from time to time, like odd candies or cereal brands that are hard to find up here. I heard rumour that the USA does not have Ketchup chips, or Coffee Crisp. Is this true?

Asami 03-21-2012 10:45 AM

such lovely avatars here O3o

Serena Yuy 03-21-2012 10:53 AM

Ketchup Chips and Coffee Crisp? I like the sound of the second thing. I may have tried Ketchup chips before. But, that wouldn't be surprising since I live in Western NY and am only a couple hours away from the Canadian border to Ontario (I live in Rochester). When I go to school in the Fall, I'll be closer.

Morning Asami ^^

I like Swedish fish! More fond of Swedish Berries though.

I'd eat dots all the time if I could find them at anytime other than halloween in tiny boxes.

I can buy some at this local chocolatier store nearby where I live. >w<
Only thing is that this place sells their stuff a bit more expensive than necessary, imo. >w>

I did take some pictures on my phone to upload and post here, but my phone's giving me issues with allowing me to upload them. =w=

Sorry about the wrong gender thing - your name threw me off - I'll try to remember it though. *nod nod*

It's true! America doesn't have those crazy chippies.

When your friends pop over - tell them! DOTS! WALGREENS! They are like a dollar a box on sale. Which they usually are.

Reyoki 03-21-2012 07:30 PM

Whut? We do too have ketchup-flavored chips! You have to go out to the 'hood to find 'em, though. I've never heard of coffee crisp, though.

Fauxreal 03-21-2012 07:33 PM

I've been to this 'hood you speak of - and still never seen them!

Reyoki 03-21-2012 07:33 PM

Maybe it's a southern thing, then.

Fauxreal 03-21-2012 07:35 PM

I lived in Florida for a while - that state is backwards land.

Reyoki 03-21-2012 07:35 PM

*thumbs up* Yes. Yes we are.

Fauxreal 03-21-2012 07:39 PM

I lived their for ten years... but the weather was killing me. Literally killing me. I have lupus and the worst thing for it is the sun. Activate mine like the dickens.

Serena Yuy 03-21-2012 07:45 PM

My dad's family lives in Florida. My Aunt and her family are fine, the girls are good girls. My grandmother and my cousin she had custody over when my cousin was younger... ummm... My Aunt's girls are embarassed of my other cousin...

Quiet Man Cometh 03-21-2012 07:55 PM

I don't typicall eat ketchup chips, just surprised me it was around much down there. Coffee Crisp is a chocolate bar, very light and wafery with mild coffee flavour (usually I don't like coffee flavoured things). Get's crumbs everywhere but I love them. :). There was this whole "how do you like your coffee?" ad campaign around them. It's kinda like a Kit Kat but more crispy, less chocolate.

No worries about the gender things. People muck if up even when I'm not being contradictory. ;)

Serena Yuy 03-21-2012 07:56 PM

ooo I would love to have the coffee crisp. Those sound really good :D

THIS! *yummy*

Reyoki 03-21-2012 08:15 PM

Oh! We have those. My grandma gets the strawberry kind most often, though.

Serena Yuy 03-21-2012 08:18 PM

When I get a job, I would hope to be able to get sweets like those ^^

Reyoki 03-21-2012 08:21 PM

They're not that expensive. I get them at the dollar store. I have to go to Aldi to find the hazelnut ones, though.

Serena Yuy 03-21-2012 08:22 PM

ooo I love Aldi candy. Though I can't even get that. ^^"
I want to go there and raid the candy that looks good.

Arikana 03-21-2012 08:26 PM

Omg, coffee crisp is AMAZING!!!! How has the USA never heard of it before? D:

Serena Yuy 03-21-2012 08:27 PM

Because USA sucks with food? :p

Fauxreal 03-21-2012 08:36 PM

No ~ we have good food - just not that one. I'm sure we have stuff here that is not in Canadaland.

Serena Yuy 03-21-2012 08:37 PM

Yeah, I'm sure we do. Just don't know off the top of my head atm ^^"

Arikana 03-21-2012 08:44 PM

So what sort of foods does USAland have, guys? :0

Serena Yuy 03-21-2012 08:54 PM

We have food :p

Reyoki 03-21-2012 08:59 PM

Ari, we do have coffee crisp. We call them wafer bars, though, and they come in all sorts of flavors, not just coffee.

Serena Yuy 03-21-2012 09:01 PM

mmm I love me some wafer bars :D

Fauxreal 03-21-2012 09:49 PM

It's almost time for Psych!

Serena Yuy 03-21-2012 09:51 PM

Watching the food network. I missed Suburgatory tonight, but I'll watch it online, or on Demand if I EVER get the chance to watch tv in the living room while my mom is at work... stupid a-hole who Doesn't even live here or date my mom anymore -.-

Anyway ^^"
I'm enjoying watching the food network though :D

Fauxreal 03-21-2012 09:57 PM

Can't you tell him to bugger off?

Serena Yuy 03-21-2012 09:59 PM

Nope. He'll just make stupid a-hole comments and get all street-like. I also can't tell mom to tell him to not come over a lot because she'll guilt trip me because she's "gets so lonely when" my dad and I go and leave to hang out with our loved ones and her's is in prison (3rd dwi in 10 yrs). -.- Ugh.

he also eats us out of house because he's a pig.

Fauxreal 03-21-2012 10:10 PM

I wouldn't stand for that crap. I don't understand how your mom doesn't think she's worthy of someone who is going to take care of her. Not her taking care of him.

Serena Yuy 03-21-2012 10:12 PM

I dunno. I'm going for, my mom is selfish and all that matters is she has a friend over to keep her company since her boyfriend is gone for making a stupid mistake.

Fauxreal 03-21-2012 10:18 PM

Your mom should really keep better company. When do you get to move out?

Serena Yuy 03-21-2012 10:21 PM

I don't know. It all depends on when my dad's girlfriend's daughter moves out. Who knows. I know she's slowly moving her stuff out little by little.

If I'm still here in the summer, then it would be when I start school in the Fall.

Fauxreal 03-21-2012 10:25 PM

Well - I'm sending you great safe move out vibes. *twiddles finger to her forehead*

Serena Yuy 03-21-2012 10:31 PM

Thanks :)
He better not have eaten the rest of the pierogies... If there are none left when I go cook dinner in a little bit. He will hear it from me. -.-

Fauxreal 03-21-2012 10:33 PM

Pierogies! I will give him the what for if he ate those - so freaking tasty.

Serena Yuy 03-21-2012 10:35 PM

Oh I know. The reason I'll flip is he eats soo much freaking food when he's here. He's always eating and he eats big portions. I don't eat a lot and it's rude of him to eat us out of house. Especially since we do not have the money to always get food.
