Welp...I'm sorry to say I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels like a complete failure of an adult, and a disappointment to myself... ;u;
Can't even measure up to my own brother who is 6 years younger. ;_;

i need. to stop. procrastinating. it's a disease at this point. SOMEONE STOP ME PROCRASTINATING!

You seem to be doing pretty darn well for a squid though, Merskelly.

I'm very sorry to hear about your father. :(

yeah, my brother is a YTer. he makes quite a bit of money, but due to the new rules and regulations coming out on YT because they got into big trouble with the government, and the government doesn't know what they're fucking doing, his most recent video keeps getting demonetized.

my father's fine. he has plans to retire, but given how things are going, that's gonna do a fat lot of good. /s

gotta love how my YTer brother also says the r slur isn't a slur and he can use it because he supposedly has bipolar. i don't think he does, else he would be on medication to control a few things, and yet he's *supposedly* allergic to lithium. if not for medication, then he'd be in therapy.

hey, have you perhaps TRIED ASKING THE THOUSANDS OF MENTALLY / PHYSICALLY DISABLED PEOPLE ON THEIR OPINION ON THE SLUR?

(also, no, you can't exactly reclaim that one.)

;U; Thank you. Though I'm not a very smart squid, as most math just depresses me so much. Just had a math-y problem discussion with my bro, trying so hard to get me to understand. Kinda went something like, but not exactly like this.

"Okay, first, what's half of 10%?"
e-e "ffffiiiive percent??"
"Good and then what's 5% times 37?"
e~e;;; "...15..35..183?? I don't know!" <x'{
"Just plug it into the calculator."
>8'{ "There's no % button!"
"Point 5..times 37."
8'c "..it says 18.5"
"Good. That's your answer. See?"
;_; "Math is dumb. And needs to be replaced."
"You can't replace it, it binds the universe together and is universal."
;u; "Not if everything is magic. Then all you would need is mana!"
"Mmno. 'S not how it works."
;n; "I wanna give up living in this dimension then."
"Well, too bad, we haven't figured out a way to safely cross into another one yet. You know why? We gotta use math to destroy math!"
x} "hehe, I used the stones to destroy the stones!"

(Yeh, this was sorta a typical discussion we sometimes have.)

MonBon 11-13-2019 07:05 PM

5% isn't 0.5, it's 0.05, but I digress

Coda 11-13-2019 08:03 PM

Iiiii mean I wasn't gonna say anything >.>;

Espy 11-14-2019 02:32 AM

We have a tutoring thread... somewhere. If you ever need math help.

Gallagher 11-14-2019 02:36 AM

mers: i'm not good at math and i know i'm not good at math so i'm gonna preface this with i'm not good at math

everyone else: YO UR BAD @ MATH

lmao please, looking at this thread has killed me

littl3chocobo 11-14-2019 02:42 AM

i'm so bad at maths i just accepted that it was .5%

Espy 11-14-2019 02:45 AM

... .5% would be 0.5/100 = 0.005...

what part of the forum do tutoring threads exist omg :s-shock:

Espy 11-14-2019 02:59 AM

I... could have sworn there was a centralized tutoring thread. Hrm. Anyways, they generally go in Central Square.

Biomecha 11-14-2019 03:16 AM

I need to sleep, but have to leave at 4:45 AM and to sit in a waiting room the entire day. But somehow drive home without sleep.

littl3chocobo 11-14-2019 03:40 AM

nap in the waiting room?

KittyBeary 11-14-2019 07:37 AM

I drink coffee and tea hooray

And I hear cherry tea is supposed to help with anxiety so I'm gonna see about getting some ;u;

Biomecha 11-14-2019 08:07 AM

The waiting room isn't really presenting any possibility of napping opportunities.

Stabbsworth 11-14-2019 11:07 AM

did get confirmation from my brother that any crackling from the, uh. adapter to my laptop is due to it not being connected properly, so the solution to that is to double check.

and confirmation that any screen glitches are due to the graphics drivers, so i have to keep those updated and restart if any glitches happen.

Coda 11-14-2019 03:12 PM

Ehhh... depending on what you mean by screen glitches, blaming the driver may be a placebo.

My bro is smarter than me when it comes to math,
but apparently he can't math either. <x'D

AAAAAA! I'm wrong 100% of the time!!!

In my defense i was correcting the brother :P

Merskelly Metalien 11-14-2019 07:58 PM

He gets stuff wrong too I guess. ^~^;
This is why neither of us should be trusted with maths. x'D
Or cooking!

legit i can't get proof because i never have my phone with me while i'm pissing about on my laptop downstairs, and no, i'm not going to go grab some arbitrary posts that are essentially me venting about it.

it gets fixed with a restart.

Coda 11-14-2019 09:10 PM

If it gets fixed with a restart that does push the balance towards it being a driver issue, or at least if it is a hardware issue it's something that the driver can work around. That's why I said "depending".

Stabbsworth 11-14-2019 09:14 PM

sorry that i came off as aggressive there.

also, yeah, i'm chalking it up to a driver issue because i can't exactly afford to replace any hardware in this laptop. it hasn't happened for some time -- i'd imagine if it was a hardware issue, it'd happen somewhat consistently.

MonBon 11-14-2019 09:17 PM

Ah my old laptop. The hard drive went out, so I got another hard drive, but then the battery went out, but like, I'd already paid for a hard drive so I was like, okay, new battery, and then the charger went out, but I'd already paid for a hard drive and battery, so I was like, okay fine, new charger. And then... the new hard drive went out :')

Stabbsworth 11-14-2019 09:20 PM

it's possible to keep a laptop on, uh. on the charger, and remove the battery completely -- it pretty much turns it into a standard computer that can be moved, provided you switch it off first.

though, if you're like me and using a specific brand of universal charger that sometimes has the damn charger come out of the, uh. the connector to the port, then you're a bit screwed unless you figure out a way to have that not happen.

MonBon 11-14-2019 09:22 PM

I needed it to be portable for school and things, as in like, off the charger

Stabbsworth 11-14-2019 09:26 PM

yeah, i get you. i didn't/don't really use my laptop off the charger, mostly because of concerns about battery life.

on my old laptop (windows 7, i3 processor), the battery is starting to go. (i.e: windows 7 actually warning me about it and that there might be random shutoffs which can result in lost data. that's practically the only issue, other than it being a bit slow because of, y'know, a lot of junk stuff i kept on it.) i'm sort of planning to keep that for spare parts, y'know?

MonBon 11-14-2019 09:32 PM

Yeah I get you

Stabbsworth 11-14-2019 09:36 PM

also because i'm a bit of a hoarder and it's nice to have something that can be used as a spare.

Coda 11-14-2019 09:38 PM

"Spare parts" is generally not a thing for laptops, unfortunately. Basically everything is built onto the motherboard nowadays and even when it isn't it's not necessarily going to be compatible across different models. You can't necessarily even count on RAM being removable anymore. Mechanical hard drives are about the only part you can trust will be portable. SSDs aren't removable on most laptops.

About the only meaningful exception when it comes to parts is the display panel. Display panels of the same physical size and resolution can sometimes be interchanged.

Stabbsworth 11-14-2019 09:40 PM

jeez. that fuckin sucks, considering people like doing modifications to their laptops and shit.

iirc, i think the laptop i had has around 600-700 GB of storage, so i could theoretically store a bunch of artwork on there if need be. the hard drive definitely isn't going yet, afaik.

also, another problem, the amount of crumbs in the keyboard. eurhghghghg.

Merskelly Metalien 11-14-2019 09:49 PM

If everything you listed there is all related to the same root cause then it's probably a bacterial infection. The good news is that bacterial infections are usually pretty treatable.

It could also be diet and stress levels. Irregular periods can be triggered by stress. Rashes can be caused by diet or by stress. And some food colorings can stay lingering in your urine. But if you've been eating the same stuff you always eat and your life has been fairly normal, this isn't especially likely. And even if it were... you should still see a doctor.

Stabbsworth 11-15-2019 12:29 PM

yeah you should probably see a doctor / gynecologist about that.

Merskelly Metalien 11-15-2019 03:07 PM
