he stopped his cleaning when one of his checks found galvin awake though bleary looking. "i reprimanded ambrosia and when you wake up properly you will get an earful as well so sleep a bit more if you can"
He did just as he was commanded after sauntering to relieve himself. He did not awaken again until the moonlight was cascading through the glass. Galvin had forgotten about the doctors visit and wasn't even sure the man was still around.
he woke with a start when the dog bounced over to the door and standing moved to keep the man from leaving. "the dog was walked at sunset, and you are in no position to leave. go lay back down and i will get the iv back in you"
The man shocked him, and it earned a growl from Galvins lips that was only heard by his dog. He looked at the doctor and nodded. Before returning to the bed he stopped by the kitchen, supplying himself with a reheated curry. "When did you get here?"
he followed the other through the kitchen and back towards the bedroom "since two days ago, and barring cirro's checkup and an hour stolen for my own wife all of it has been spent here catching up on some books i have been wanting to read"
His face dropped, and immediately Galvin felt horrible. "I'm sorry." His hand naturally found its way to his dog again. "I can call my families doctor if you want to go home to your wife."
"no, no, believe me my family is well taken care of to compensate, besides i am your doctor now. it is my job to keep you healthy" lightly he reached out and though it was hard he managed to touch the man's shoulder if only for a moment. "believe me it is fine"
Gently he reached up and touched the hand on his shoulder. His face relaxed but it still held the remains of a remorseful grin. "Are you sure? Its no problem and he is probably going crazy since he has not seen me in a while." He denied his gesture of kindness again, in favor of being led back to his room. Galvin sat down and let the exams take place. "I have decided to see how our vacation goes to see if I want to move in with Ambrosia. I know all the logic in the world tells me I should already move in, but I do not trust being kept by him. Not fully. "
that galvin was going on vacation and taking ambrosia with him was new news and he did not know what to say. keeping his mouth closed he moved to grab he man's iv and stick it back in though he had to be careful of the dog and put it in the other side. when it was in he did a quick look-over at the man's wounds and finding then to be alright quickly left the room
He woke, this time not to an empty room but to the weight of his dog breathing heavily on his chest and the IV being resupplied into his arm. His head felt heavy and he could not shake the feeling he could hear a radio show.
he flinched as the other woke while he was fixing the needle once more. "the dog really needs to sleep on the floor until you are better. the iv keeps coming loose, this is the second time today i have had to reattach it." pulling the tape free he pulled it back out and set it up on the rack. "though for now i recommend real food, you have slept for nearly three days now"
He sprang up too quickly but kept it from showing. "Am I allowed to walk?" Three days in bed did not sit well with him. Not for what he deemed a minor injury.
shocked he fell backwards and the dog barked once. "uh, uh... galvin pyce sit back down!"
He looked at the man trying to tame his dog and pushed aside his blankets. With a sharp whistle he called his bouncing dog to his side and they both joviality moved to the living room.
when he was soundly ignored by the now-dancing man he lost his tongue and meekly followed them both into the livingroom to at least make sure is something did go wrong he could fix it right away
Against the doctors advice, Galvin spent the last three days getting himself back into shape. By Friday, all of his affairs were in order. His parents were aware of him leaving for business. His dog was with his brother, and his manager could do nothing about his absence. He felt in high spirits standing in the night, periodically checking his watch as the countdown to the vacation was nearing Zero.
