I find the Food Network here in America to be extremely boring, the cooks/chefs all fake-happy and irritating, and just... the whole thing, really dull. The only show I like is one called "Good Eats" because it's less.. I suppose "passive" would be the right word. It actually tries to entertain the viewer, instead of the usual method of cooking-and-explaining.

Yuki 07-29-2010 03:34 PM

The potatoes I know but I have never heard about the other things...

And Tina doesn't speak Swedish she speaks fucking "Skånska" which is like Swedish and Danish MIXED.

Aiko 07-29-2010 03:39 PM

Senyoru: Well rye bread is a kind of bread that mostly on people from Scandinavia eat... and people from Germany... German bread is rather good..
And well it's made of sour dough and rye mostly, it tastes a lot better than it sounds, and then those Swedish people go and put honey in it T-T
But most people from Denmark doesn't make better food than Swedish people..
So all the hate is really just brother fighting... since the dawn of time (at least since we divided into countries) we have always been fighting back and forth... Europe have the longest history of having grudges against each other in history, even the people down in the middle east can't beat us... that's why EU was made, so we would stop fighting each other for the sake of our now shared economy....
We kinda got tired of wars after Hitler...

Yuki 07-29-2010 03:41 PM

I have never met anyone who puts honey on anything. Besides maybe tea or some meat...

Aiko 07-29-2010 03:42 PM

Senyoru: try going to Scandinavia ^^;
But I warn you, we are weird, and we have a very odd and sometimes evil sense of humor...

Senyoru: As I said, most of them should have thought it over more than once before they opened a restaurant :/
My all time favorite TV cooks are only known in Denmark, but they are freakin' awesome, and have lot of irony and humor and stuff, and their food is really good too (I've tried more than one of their recipes)

And no matter what you others think, I still say yelling is never the right solution, it shows that you're in lack of control, just the same as smacking your children, it's only something you do when you're not fit to be a parent and can't handle the situation...
And this comes from a girl who has a temper worth of an Italian "mama"...

Yes, I have to agree about yelling part because, my boyfriend's Grandmother is one of the terrible yellers. Because she thinks she is better than everyone with her cooking and shit. She have no patience nor having any common sense toward people's skills or not understanding why she is yelling for no apparent reason.

@Johnny: I never find any of the cooking shows boring on my part. xD Because, I always enjoyed watching them cooking the food, desserts etc.

Demonskid 07-29-2010 03:46 PM

I hate cooking shows D= they make me hungry

Flaria 07-29-2010 03:48 PM

Not for me, they are educating for me when I watch them cooked the food or baking the pastry.

Aiko 07-29-2010 03:48 PM

Flaria: Ah I see, I had a "friend" who would start yelling at me every time I didn't obey every single thing she wanted me to do...
I myself have a very bad temper, but I almost never yell, only when people drive me up in a corner because they yell themself... else I prefer not to... I yell quite a lot at my dad, but have a horrible temper... it's even worse than mine...

Yuki 07-29-2010 03:49 PM

UUMMM...I dunno if I wasn't clear...I AM IN SWEDEN...DUH

Aiko 07-29-2010 03:51 PM

Senyoru: No you actually didn't mention that ^^; Not to me anyway

Flaria 07-29-2010 03:51 PM

Yes, Aiko. That's what my boyfriend's Grandmother is like that. Also, she is a Virgo that's normal. @_@; She is only 77 years old and acted like she is still forever young trying to get young men to herself. She is easily jealous, aimed to be perfection, very self-centered, can be nice, huge money spender, etc. It's crazy I tell you. >_>;

Yuki 07-29-2010 03:54 PM

Why the heck would I be talking about Sweden if I lived somewhere else? Sweden isn't exactly Japan or Italy. rofl

johnny 07-29-2010 03:55 PM

I'd rather eat food than watch people on the TV make it. :<

Aiko 07-29-2010 03:55 PM

Flaria: It sounds really crazy too, I think the problem with my friend wasn't that she was not right in the head... I mean she was convinced Bill Kaulitz was her soul mate, she had this insane obsession with cleaning (as long as other people did it for her) and she had this idea that everyone had to be perfect in her little perfect world... also she lied all the freakin' time and I am pretty sure she was bipolar...

Senyoru: Well you kinda threw me off when you started talking about Swedish cooks, after I mentioned a Danish cooking show... I am not sure if you're aware of this, but as a Danish person, you meet a whole lot of people who think Denmark is a city in Sweden, Norway, Germany or Holland...
So yeah... might as well have been that explanation...

Yuki 07-29-2010 03:56 PM

Personally I wont eat something I have no idea about what it is or how it was made...

Flaria 07-29-2010 03:58 PM

xD I understand, Johnny. My boyfriend is the same way but watching cooking shows while eating food. He gets hungry when he watch those delicious commercials. LOL!

@Aiko: Oh my lordy pants! That's the similar way of what his grandmother is. It's very annoying. She is really blind to her own faults and lied all the time and blamed it on others for her own mistakes. I know who is just like that, Aiko. I do. xD

johnny 07-29-2010 03:59 PM

I'm actually quite hungry now. :C

And it's at least an hour 'till dinner. D:

Aiko 07-29-2010 04:00 PM

Flaria: Wow it's not often I meet someone like you, mostly people just say: "Yeah I know how you feel" because they didn't listen....

Johnny: I am waaaaay beyond dinner, but I might go warm meself a pop tart :O

Yuki 07-29-2010 04:01 PM

Haha, I make my own dinner so I can decide when I wanna eat. ;0

Aiko 07-29-2010 04:03 PM

That is the good thing about being in charge of dinner, but I don't complain, 'cause most of my family cooks pretty well ^-^
Also I am moving out this Sunday so yeah...

johnny 07-29-2010 04:05 PM

My mother cooks dinner. And she's an extremely good cook, so I wouldn't dare skip one of her meals for my own microwaved whatever.

Though I do wish there were snack foods in the house. End of the month = no munchies for the most part.

Flaria 07-29-2010 04:05 PM

@Aiko: Yes, because I met few people who shares those similar problems and I was like, "WTF man.. This is getting pointless. I can see why he is always stressed from her. @_@". I tell you, it is not the easiest way to get out of that. Each time I tried to tell her she starts to yell louder until I told I understood what she meant but we don't have to go her way all the time. It's not old fashion anymore it's MODERN. Leave all the past in the past. It's shows that she doesn't have a lot of friends, because of her attitude and lack of common sense toward people.

Aiko 07-29-2010 04:08 PM

johnny: In my family it's my father who's the best, even if he put, in some people's opinion, a bit too much spice in (not mine, I love spice) he just makes really delicious food ^.^

Flaria: I know EXACTLY what you mean, 'cept my "friend" had a violent touch to her as well, it was really scary, at times I thought she'd just kick me down the stairs...
luckily I got away, and now she lives in the other side of the country (and after we called the police, I think she got that I didn't want her as friend any more)

Yuki 07-29-2010 04:09 PM

I am not really in charge I just don't care...my mom works late usually so...I have cooked myself since I was 12 cause I didn't wanna wait for my mom to come home cause I'd get really hungry and kill someone. I am a better cook than her too...usually...

Aiko 07-29-2010 04:11 PM

at our home, we shift every week, so everyone get equal amount of chores. But my dad's food is still the best, and I hope I can one day beat him ^_^

Yuki 07-29-2010 04:13 PM

I have no chores more than I choose myself...I do clean my room, well. That includes vacuum cleaning and washing floors.

Aiko 07-29-2010 04:15 PM

I see
Since we until very recent was 6 family members, and two of them was boys in the teenage age, who was very mindful of everything that they felt was unfair, we had to make all the chores equal, so my mom decided that we each took turns because she didn't want to be the one ending up with always having to do it herself... and I kinda understand that, we can be rather messy all of us...

Yuki 07-29-2010 04:21 PM

We're only two and a cat so my mom does all laundry... ,__, I don't have a lot of clothes either...so...

Sadrain 07-29-2010 04:22 PM

-puts on sunglasses, in case she will have to look at Aiko-

Aiko 07-29-2010 04:24 PM

Saddie: Bwahahaha
I got a darker color on too though ;)

Senyoru: Ah I see, that will make things a bit easier.. at least with chores?

Totally off topic... Tsuki ni kawatte, oshioki yo!

Sadrain 07-29-2010 04:26 PM

The pink's jsut as eye destroying as before, though. XD

Aiko 07-29-2010 04:27 PM

Saddie: Yes that's my evil plan! I am gonna melt everyone by my sparkliness... that or attract Twilight vampires..... I hope it's the first.... *giggles*

Flaria 07-29-2010 04:28 PM

@Aiko: That's good that you got away from her. xD That's another reason why my boyfriend is trying to find a place for both of us to live in out of her mobile home. >_>; It's her fault that she doesn't pay attention to a lot of things as she should be and he and I always helped her tons of times.

Aiko 07-29-2010 04:32 PM

Flaria: Well I wish you good luck then, it's definitely not a good situation to be in...

Zypher 07-29-2010 04:34 PM

I hope I didn't just see the word Twilight.. -gets a bat- >c

Aiko 07-29-2010 04:36 PM

Zypher: Sowwies D'x
It was not because I wanted any Twilighters to come, I am all for Damon Salvatore from Vampire Diaries, because he's EVIL and not an emo kid who needs to drink some human blood D<

Yuki 07-29-2010 04:38 PM

Emos are actually vampires? lol

Aiko 07-29-2010 04:40 PM

Senyoru: Well their sure are some similarities to non human blood drinking vampires and emos :/
They both whine about how wrong their lifes is and all that annoying stuff, and they're both too pale... and they both need to get off their butts and go do something about it themself, because life will never be handed to you on a silver platter.. D<

Yuki 07-29-2010 04:42 PM

"Never" is a strong word but for most people, no. ;( lul
