Duchess noticed the lady making a mockery of herself, and her smile dampened slightly. She sighed to herself and shook her head from side to side.
"Is this my competition? Looks like an easy win this time as well" She told her lady-in-waiting to leave for for a moment while she walked up a bit closer to the judges. |
That was taken as sarcasm on her part as she looked towards Lucid. She scrunched her face and turned her attention back to Airu and Mew. "Just... Everyone needs to get here and then I can finally calm down," she said and shook her head. She was just rather stressed since at one point it didn't look like everyone was even going to show up. |
His belonging were in his room, which seemed to be only that was a great thing. He never had a bedroom all to himself before. While Jurinjo treasured his private time he stayed around people all the time. That brought back a sad memory of... *ding*
While in his room Jurinjo tore out of his sweaty clothes and quickly wiped himself with a wet towel to look, and smell, more presentable. One didn't want to try too hard to look good. As he stood in the elevator he inspected his shredded surfer style Khaki shorts, green shirt and spiked his hair properly using the thin gold plating around the door. [[I'm staggering my posts to match time passing more properly]] |
Lucid was slightly offended that White had ignored her compliment. She thought that White had seemed more under control and put together than she had the past few days. Judging by White's comment to the other judges, however, Lucid thought that maybe she had sensed wrong. "Are...there still contestants who haven't arrived?" she asked timidly, not wanting to frustrate her host.
|
"There are some contestants that haven't arrived here," she said and pointed to the pool area. "But everyone has checked in." |
"Oh, that's good news at least." Lucid said, relieved. "I'm sure they'll make their way here soon."
|
"For their sake... Let's hope so..." White said and then pushed her bangs out of her eyes. She knew she must look a mess today because of all of the stress... She would fix herself up from now on though. This was slightly embarrassing, but she was too angry to much care. |
"Well, given the circumstances, I think you've done a great job," Lucid said with a smile. "I hope they show up soon...I'm so anxious to get started!"
|
[[I realized my last post hardly made any sense at all, good thing it only said one important thing. Am I the last to arrive?]] The elevator bell dinged as it reached the bottom floor. Jurinjo walked out taking rather quick and large paces with his long legs. Mechanically never missing a beat yet keeping the stride elegant. He smiled and nodded his head semi-nervously to anyone who looked his direction as he chose a nice spot where the sun hit the tree just right to cast a shadow for him to stand under. |
Padfoot had enough of wandering and he went back to the receptionist. "Hey, has White come out her room yet?" He'd been wandering too long, feeling a little awestruck by the extravagant place he had lost track of time.
|
[[Yes you were.]] Trying to regain her composure from her run in with White from earlier, Shannelle sighed softly at the question presented to her. "Honey... If you know what is good for you... then you will get your nervous butt out there to that pool. White has request all of the contestants be out there and she didn't seem too pleased when she asked." She then pushed her bangs out of her face and nodded her head. She knew it was in his best interest to do just that. |
Padfoot jumped and nodded. "Thanks for the Info." He said before leaving the lobby and heading for the pool. Or where he saw a glimpse of it earlier when he was wondering. He decided to run there since he was already late once and this would be his second time. So when he got there he was panting and trying to catch his breath. He looked around at all the others there. "Ahah sorry I'm late." he said to nobody in particular.
|
[[actually it was technically padfoot no? =D]] |
[[No. You were totally last to arrive at the hotel.]] Looking up to see another contestant arriving at the pool, White began to count how many were here... There were still some missing and she was getting slightly impatient already. She was about fed up and was debating on making the announcement without everyone even here. |
Duchess noticed one of the judges looking more irate by the second and took this opportunity to approach her.
"Miss White," She smiled sweetly, "I can't help but notice that the lack of contestants present has had you a bit... on edge. If you would like, I can offer the services of my world class masseuse and aromatherapy specialist to attend to you later." |
'Is she that brazen or that full of herself?' Jurinjo thought to himself as he watched the exchange unfold before him. He was personally late for the meeting and one of the latest if not the last to arrive to the hotel so wouldn't try to interact with the judge while she was bomb about to go off. Raising herself to the judge may work depending on the judge. But she'd better get to watching her back when turned to the other 9 fashion contestants. At least of them had her name on their list. Check.
|
Airu smiled at the other who had gathered out by the pool. 'Well they are showing up at a good rate' She thought to her self as she gave a slight wave to the few who just arrived. Hearing Duchess gesture, Airu looked over to White and smiled. "Well that sound rather relaxing and amazing."
|
"As lovely as that sounds..." White said with a small spark of amusement on her face. "It won't be necessary. The amusement was done with that last half of the sentence though, sadly. The only thing she needed right now was for the rest of the people to get here and let her make the announcement... Or she could just tell all of these people and hope they let the others know. |
But then she thought about it a little more and she stood from the chair. She smiled at Duchess as she adjusted her clothing a little bit. "On second thought... I think I just may take you up on that offer. I do need an easier time relaxing..." she said after she'd thought about it for a few more seconds. "Alright, listen up everyone. There will be a formal and mandatory dinner tomorrow night. You must dress your best and all must be in attendance. That is the first task." |
That sounded easy enough but the catch? Honestly he was hoping the catch was a food fight. He never been in one, like they really happened in high schools? Staying silent seemed to be the smartest thing to do. His arms remained cross as he paid close attention to the judge speaking at the moment.
|
Duchess eyes sparked with delight. "Ah! Shall I request it for you all then?" She smiled and motioned to Mew and Airu while picking up her cell phone.
Things were turning out lovely so far. She met a contestant, made progress with the judges AND would be able to attend a formal dinner. She was especially good at dinners and formal affairs. "Oh this would be absolutely wonderful~" She squealed while chatting on the phone with her staff. |
Airu laughed when Duchess had asked if her and Mew would like to join as well. "Um.. I guess I don't see anything wrong with that, if you don't mind." She smiled but still taken off by the request. Normally those weren't on her to-do list but it would be nice to do something out of the ordinary.
|
Damn the little rich girl got em! Nothing was a completely loss. If he deemed it he could maybe side with her. There was no way he was going to allow himself to be beat. His eyes casually surveyed everyone else during this pause. Scanning for anyone else with possible hostility for Duchess. If there were any good as him at blending in and staying cool then he would never even know. Drama could be following fast and the first round was barely beginning. That or perhaps his competitive edge was causing him to blow things out of proportion.
|
Padfoot listen to the announcement and paled a little. He wasn’t sure what to wear to that. He hadn’t been to anything overly fancy in his entire life. Also he wondered if he had the right clothes for it. He shook his head and decided to worry about that in a little bit. He needed to meet the judges and apologize for being so late.
He walked forward and headed for the one nearest the one he guessed as White. He held out his hand to her. “Hello, I’m Padfoot. Are you one of the judges?” |
Duchess got off the phone with her staff and addressed the judges yet again. "The masseuse and therapist should be here in a few! They are very prompt and you may do with they whatever you please."
She giggled some more, honestly filled with supreme cheerfulness. "I must go plan my attire!" She suddenly remembered that her appearance mattered most in this place. She excused herself and walked back into the hotel, brushing past the masseuse and therapist. She whispered into their ears while pointing to the judges and winking before taking the elevator back up. ((Any of Duchess' staff members are free to control by anyone... except Jess. She's speshul)) |
Airu noticed one of the contestants walk up to them so she smiled standing up to greet them. "Hello. I take it your a participant? You must have been one of the later ones who arrived." She held out her hand to shake his. "I'm Airu. White is right here." She nodded her head to the side towards White. "Well glad you came to introduce yourself."
Airu nodded to Duchess' leave and got her attention pulled over to the masseuse who were now walking up. "Oh.. Well I didn't expect it so soon. I'm not quite in the mood for it right now." She smiled and brushed her bangs out of her eyes. "If you don't mind waiting for me after I'm done chatting here. You can go ahead and sit down out here to wait." She waved to a chair near them and watched as they did so. |
Padfoot looked over to White, feel better that his assumption was right. He then nodded at Airu and shrugged his shoulders. “Ahh Turns out buses don’t come down here often at the time I left, so I got lost for a little bit…But I’m here and ready to work.” He smiled. “But I have a few questions…”
|
"Well..." Airu sat back down in her chair and nodded to him to grab one to bring it next to her. "Hit me, what are you question?" She smiled and reached up to take her ponytail out.
|
Ginger overheard the conversation between Padfoot and Airu, and sat up with interest to hear his questions and her answers. Ginger doesn't talk much, but she figures she is better off listening to others. Besides, she finds other people interesting.
|
“I was wondering we're supposed to wear our best for tomorrow, but I don't think I really brought...my best clothes...eheh... uhm is there any way I could borrow some things?” He said looking a little nervous for asking.
|
Airu blinked a couple times, taken off by Padfoot's question. She then let out a laugh and leaned back in her chair wiping a small tear from the corner of her eye. "I'm sorry." She took a big breath and sat up straight once again. "Well.. That's a new question if I don't say so myself." Airu smiled to Padfoot. "I guess I don't see harm in borrowing a few items if it's what you need. I mean.. it's about if you can put a great outfit together. Not about being rich." She shrugged and looked over to Ginger, noticing she was listening in. "Being male thought it'll be a little difficult to borrow items from the females."
|
Espy, sitting in the shade, overheard Padfoot's question. "I accidentally packed some of my brother's stuff...You can borrow that if you want, but I'm not sure you'd want to," she laughed softly.
(Do you really need something?) |
Ginger thought silently to herself for a moment. She thought of a time when she could not afford nice things and she suddenly felt a connection with Padfoot, as if they've lived a similar life. She suddenly became thankful of everything she has accomplished.
|
She giggled at what Airu had said. "Yes, this is quite odd of a man asking a woman to borrow clothing. It isn't something you see every day. I think I've just witnessed a revolution. He is a brave man indeed. I've got a feeling he and I will become good friends, no matter who wins this competition."
Ginger wasn't a very competitive person at all in fact. There have been times where she has wondered why she even joined in on this competition, but she thought about it hard and ended up feeling the best she has felt in a long time. |
(Oh no, Airu got me Covered. Thank you Espy~)
Padfoot nodded and then looked over to Espy. He shrugged and then said. "I don't know, I'll have to look at what I packed, I just wanted to make sure I was covered before I start...start to stress..." he laughed nervously and shuffled his feet, feeling uncomfortable. "But thank you for offering...If I do need help in the future I may ask you." He added quickly giving her a grateful smile. |
Airu smiled to Espy. "Well looks like things are tending to work out for the better. Now if you excuse me. I think I'll take up that offer on the masseuse Duchess had offered earlier." Airu gave a nod as she stood up and walked over to one of Duchess masseuses.
|
Ginger yawned and figured it was time for her to settle into her room and get some rest. She could't wait for the formal dinner the next evening and to be introduced to the other contestants. Waving goodbye to Padfoot, Airu, and Espy, she felt like she had a few things to think about.
|
Lucid was excited for the dinner. She loved formal dress, and she loved food. She immediately went to her room and began pouring over her many formal outfits, trying to decide exactly which colors, accessories, and dress length to wear. With such a selection, Lucid could hardly choose just one outfit.
|
Nikko had gotten off the elevator walked down the hall to his room thinking to him self some trying to think what he would be able to wear to the dinner that was going to be happening later on that coming evening getting to his room he pulled out key card opened the door walked in sighing some. He was never really the kind to mingle with people and had a hard time doing so, maybe this dinner would work out for him and he could see what he was against in many ways he needed to try and not be so kept to him self about everything. Heading over to the closet he looked in trying to see what he would be able to wear to the formal dinner.
|
She opened her eyes and freaked out. Ginger had overslept! It was nearly noon and she still needed to go shopping. The formal dinner is tonight and she has so much to do before it starts! Hurriedly, she ran into the bathroom and showered. Without makeup and in a pair of sweats, she rushed out the door and headed to the nearest shopping mall in search of the perfect dress.
