I prefer dogs under normal circumstances, but enjoy cats as well.

Cats concern me. They always look like the *might* be up to something. I'm much more of a dog person.

XD I think dogs are just as much up to something as cats, just disguise it differently, but I am no expert.

My dog is always getting in trouble, and well she hides under the couch when he knows it. I am sure if I had a cat they would not eat my undergarments.

xD Eat, maybe not, but possibly lick and sleep on. Depends on the cat, though.

xD I can take a cat sleeping on my garments since that can be washed. But she chews hole into my undergarments. And its only mine not my dad, nor mom just mine.

Heh. It's more those hidden claws and pointy teeth that get me I guess. I'm used to be mouthed and gnawed on and walked over by dogs so not much about them gets to me anymore.
And no kidding there are shifty dogs! Mine was the most sneaky, devious, unrepentant little thing you've ever met. I guess it boils down to knowing the species and knowing the animal. I could always tell from my dog's demeanor when he was up to something at that moment, but he never looked guilty after the fact, unlike some other dogs I've met. My sister's dog would hang her head and run for underneath the bed if she had done something. |
Mm, well, it's the same with cats, you get used to it, if you have a cat who likes to chew or claw you, and you also know when s/he is usually going to do that and avoid the situations, if you don't like it.

I got *mostly* used to my aunt's cats. One was an ancient girl called Princess Anastasia that lived to some ridiculous age. She generally just walked around and didn't do much. My Uncle's cat, Shadow, was a little trickier. She would stare at me all the time. I was staying with them for part of the week for a while and I'd sit in this one spot on the couch and she'd sit across the room and stare at me. I tended to not interact with her much, except for giving her the odd scratch under her chin or hand on her back once and a while. Apparently, when I was back to being at home, she took to staring at the space on the couch where I should have been sitting.
I'm sure it didn't help that as I kid I knew two cats who were of the "hide under the couch and fling claws at people" variety. Those are the cats I remember more than others. |

My friend has a variety of cats including one that had three legs. They have one called small cat that they say does all the mischief around the house.
