my county library system has it. hmm....

Kaderin Triste 01-28-2019 10:01 PM

...am so close to finishing a book, but suddenly have lost interest in the book.
Fuck.
XD
Have only until Thursday to finish it if I want to not fall behind on my challenge though. Should probably read a chapter or 2 tonight...

trystan830 01-28-2019 10:45 PM

what book is that, Kaderin?

Kaderin Triste 01-28-2019 11:18 PM

The Great Hunt by Robert Jordan. Despite owning it, I listened to The Eye of the World on audio book and it got me back into the Wheel of Time series, which I love, but never have finished.

trystan830 01-28-2019 11:59 PM

ah... i haven't read any Robert Jordan

Kaderin Triste 01-29-2019 12:19 AM

*packs full series to mail to you*

I have only read (about 3/4 of) the WoT series, but they are awesome! Highly recommend.

trystan830 01-29-2019 12:35 AM

I haven't seen that movie either. Although, I've always wanted to.

If you like dark stuff, magic, and puppets, it's totally for you. xD
I think there was even a graphic novel series spawned from the movie and had a ton of lore or something. :]

Kaderin Triste 01-29-2019 04:31 AM

Puppets are hit or miss with me. (Ex: I love Muppets, but hate sesame street.) But I have seen the dvd case of it and it looks like something I'd enjoy. The opportunity to watch it has just never come around.

Merskelly Metalien 01-29-2019 04:37 AM

:D Oh totally enjoyable. Jim Henson created the muppets and I think the Dark Crystal was one of his final collaborative projects before he died. :c
It's a good watch, I'd recommend it ^-^ because it's really a fantasy world of it's own with all sorts of cool, scary and adorable creatures and people.
I absolutely love Fizgig, whatever he is! x'D Haha!

Kaderin Triste 01-29-2019 04:47 AM

Awww...what a cute little ball of fluff and rage!

Merskelly Metalien 01-29-2019 05:09 AM

He really is haha! X'D

trystan830 01-29-2019 11:32 AM

like Kaderin, i just haven't really gotten round to watching it. i'll get there one day.

as for Henson muppets - i really loved the show Farscape - a scifi show with muppets!

Never have seen Farscape either. O.o
But I have very vague memories of Fraggle Rock.

Oh yeah! I always forget that Labyrinth was a Jim Henson movie too. XD
Love that little wormy/caterpillar guy.

Brian Froud was the creative director for Dark Crystal. You can see it in the look of some of the characters.

Well I was reading through my new Witcher book but I am further inundated with kids' books. I picked up 18 holds the other day, and still have about 6-7 on hand. I think I'm done with picture books though. Time to move on to novels, of which I have about a dozen to weed through. Joy.

I have also decided that if Roald Dahl were to publish his books now, they would not be okay. Just finished James and the Giant Peach and relatives crushed to dead by fruit and a bomb scare in New York probably wouldn't go over well, as silly as it might otherwise be.

Also, Puddle Pug is the cutest book ever. Except for the picture where he's sad. Poor Percy.
