mdom 09-19-2018 12:38 AM

what's really wrong is that they didn't call me to be jubilee in the movies

Espy 09-19-2018 01:09 AM

Isn’t Jube Asian?

mdom 09-19-2018 11:43 AM

and what am I??
wait, you've never seen me
sure, I'm Japanese and not CHinese, but at least I'm not ScarJo

Espy 09-19-2018 01:36 PM

/oh/ I did not know that. Sorry :x

mdom 09-19-2018 02:59 PM

hehe it's ok
I'm from Brazil sure, but Brazil had heavy Japanese migration like, a century ago

Biomecha 09-19-2018 03:17 PM

Are there a lot of things that blend the 2 cultures? Like here, there's Viet-Cajun food.

mdom 09-19-2018 03:23 PM

please don't get me started in the abomination of sweet sushi
http://www.gourmetvirtual.com.br/wp-...-Namorados.jpg

Espy 09-19-2018 03:24 PM

Viet-Cajun food as hella good.

...Sweet sushi sounds terrifying.

Biomecha 09-19-2018 03:31 PM

That does look, not so appetizing. But I always like the idea of things when they are a hybrid between styles/cultures/etc.

mdom 09-19-2018 03:33 PM

Brazil likes to ruin things. Why did they have to do that to poor sushi D: there's also sushi-pizza
WHY

Biomecha 09-19-2018 03:48 PM

Maybe it can be done right, with the right ingredients? Although it would probably have to deviate pretty far from the sushi aspect.

mdom 09-19-2018 08:42 PM

pizza crust
cheese
sushi on top
that's it
disgusting

Biomecha 09-19-2018 09:16 PM

Hmm, they should have changed up the other parts to be more complimentary.

Espy 09-19-2018 09:35 PM

Hmm...but imagine: rice pizza crust, spicy mayo, diced tuna/salmon sashimi, some salmon roe or tobiko, a bit of seaweed salad, some thin cucumber slices, and some egg, topped off with shredded nori and furikake.

mdom 09-19-2018 09:46 PM

That sounds way too gourmet to come from Brazil

Biomecha 09-19-2018 11:07 PM

I'd like to try it. Although I'm not familiar with a couple of the ingredients.

Espy 09-19-2018 11:09 PM

Which ones?

Biomecha 09-19-2018 11:15 PM

Oh wait, tobiko but I realize that's just another type of roe. And furikake, I never really paid attention to the name but I used to use that all the time.

mdom 09-19-2018 11:45 PM

Some things I legit didn't know the name in Portuguese as a kid because my mom kept using the Japanese name.

Biomecha 09-20-2018 12:11 AM

Maybe she can help me figure out what most of the shops are in the Asian district near here.

mdom 09-20-2018 05:19 PM

They're fronts for the mob xD

Biomecha 09-20-2018 05:37 PM

There seem to be some interesting shops, but I can't read what they are.

Espy 09-20-2018 05:42 PM

I could maybe help you decode stuff, too.

mdom 09-20-2018 05:44 PM

My mom can't read kanji. They used to speak only Japanese when she was a kid, but it was like... rural workers who haven't been to school so it's not the same of today.

Espy 09-20-2018 05:46 PM

I've failed to retain most of my knowledge of Chinese characters from the twelve years of Chinese school I was put through :| Still speak it fluently, though. Would be embarrassing if I forgot that.

mdom 09-20-2018 05:52 PM

If you don't practice continually, you end up losing it
also too many characters to keep it all in your heat xD

Biomecha 09-20-2018 05:54 PM

I'd have to send a bunch of street views because I usually just see them riding by. It's a huge area though, and there's a wide variety of Asian areas.

Yeah, it's hella awkward when I go to Taiwan w my parents, and we're like... buying dessert or something and I need them to tell me what the menu board says. (The shopkeepers stare at me.)

mdom 09-20-2018 06:54 PM

poor illiterate chinese child ;_;

Espy 09-20-2018 07:13 PM

IKR :|Like I can take stabs at meanings, especially when given context, but.

Biomecha 09-20-2018 07:28 PM

I might be finally getting a grasp on English. Even though it's my native language.

Espy 09-20-2018 07:30 PM

Haha, yeah, English is... fucking weird.

mdom 09-20-2018 08:10 PM

Hey, your English is great. Better than mine, and I have a certificate

Biomecha 09-20-2018 09:29 PM

You probably have to know more in order to earn a certificate.

mdom 09-20-2018 09:37 PM

You know, you just... don't know you know, if that makes sense

Biomecha 09-20-2018 09:45 PM

It makes complete sense. To someone, I'm sure.

mdom 09-20-2018 10:13 PM

I swear I'm not high

Biomecha 09-20-2018 10:20 PM

If you are, can you share?

mdom 09-20-2018 10:35 PM

Sure, it's grape juice mixed with iced tea

Biomecha 09-20-2018 10:45 PM

Oh. Is that your version of "purple drank"?
