Oh yeah, I forgot that reset just now! Good idea.
|
It resets at 9pm my time, for which I am thankful xD
Usually I'm in bed around 10 for work the next day. Buuuut since I quit my job I have a ton of spare time and I plan to dedicate a lot of it to Trisphee. |
Yeah... I already played today's tokens so I'll actually have to wait until it resets again. We're in the same time zone btw. Why'd you quit your job?
|
I quit because it sucked. I literally made under $3,000 since starting there in February. Definitely put me into the shitter in terms of finances. I made enough to barely scrape by. North Dakota should be booming with jobs. Ones that pay a lot better than the one I had. Not to mention the hours I'll get over there. I was lucky if I got 10 hours a week at my last job.
|
I made a post about my previous job in the Life Styles and Issues section if you'd like to read it. That gives more of an explanation as to why I quit. I just didn't feel respected by my employer after that, like my say in anything was automatically void.
God it's late. I find it hard to type and spell correctly right now. I'm staying up to post though xD |
That's definitely a good reason to quit! Low pay and no hours is a terrible excuse for a job. Maybe I should move to North Dakota, too. lol I'm having a horrendous time trying to get a job around here.
|
Ohh you'd have supreme luck getting a job in ND. My boyfriend got hired as a lube tech. The pay is more than I can say on here. But it's an amazing, amazing pay rate for it being an entry-level position. He'll be working over there for the next 2 years alongside his brother, who is a mechanic, so he can become ASC certified.
|
Ah, that's pretty awesome for him. Getting a certification is a huge step in any job, it'll make him a lot more valuable.
|
Definitely :) It'll get him some great experience. Then he can come home and work as a mechanic in an automotive shop, or for Toyota.
I'm currently a CNA, but I'm looking into getting certifications for data entry and accounting. Maybe I can score a job that pays at least $14/hr here back home after working over there, making $18/hourly or something. |
That'll be cool :3
You're a nurse? Have you tried getting a job at a school? Accounting is a good thing to get into, though, if nothing else than to make sure your own money is well taken care of. |
Certified Nursing Assistant. It'll take a couple more years of schooling for a Nursing degree haha. Though I've found it to be a difficult career.
Yeah I see it that way too. And the more certifications I have the better off I'll feel, having knowledge on the subjects. |
Yeah, it can be a bit challenging. My grandma was a nurse, and some of the stories she would tell. xD
I wouldn't mind getting into accounting myself, now that I think about it. I've always been pretty good with numbers. Knowing things always makes me feel better, too. :3 |
My grandmother is a nurse also xD
Knowledge is the key to success. The way I see it, people are always needing caretakers. They're always needing to pay taxes. Always needing to manage their finances. I'm looking into careers that are expected to boom, ya know? Journalism would be such a fun job, but it's a failing career. As a side hobby though it would be great. Maybe write short stories and publish them as ebooks. I've thought about that but I just don't have the knowledge to do it. |
Yeah. That's actually a really good point, those jobs are never going to go out of style. Writing actually sounds like a lot of fun, I wish I could do it but all I ever have is general ideas. Like, I can come up with characters and a general plot outline, but I don't know how to put it all together.
|
I sort of have the same problem. It was just an idea for a side job haha xD For me a good side job would be visual art related. Maybe sell everyday house items that are custom-painted by me. Maybe even painted license plate covers or something.
When looking for a career it's very important to look at demand. That was something grade school never taught me. |
Well, if you're good at art, you could do buttons or pins yourself and sell those. There are a lot of things school doesn't teach kids that they really need to know. Personally, I think a lot of our systems need a complete overhaul and modernization to be brought up to the current standard of living.
