Living at college sucked for me too. The way my bed was set up I was up pretty high. It was helpful for putting my dresser under the bed but I got afraid I'd fall down. xD; And the beds are so uncomfortable! |
yeah, my bed is sorta high this semester, but it was even higher last semester! the bedframe was 3 feet off the ground last semester. it's probably two and a half now, because my plastic drawers just barely don't fit.
I bought a mattress pad for my bed, but it still doesn't help much. my worst problem is that I toss around a bunch at night, so all my sheets pull. but my bed is in the corner against two walls, and on the other long side is my desk, and on the short side is my roommate's bed. I'm boxed in and can't re-make my bed without a ton of moving stuff and some bumping my head on shelves. >.< |
Aww, you poor dear. Dx My bed was in a corner too but I was still afraid of falling over. Uh, my bed was higher than that... It was at my shoulders, I'm pretty sure. And I'm 5'9". xD; I had to use my desk chair to get up when I was really tired. |
wow, that's super high! I would be so scared! I can at least get up on it from the floor, but sometimes I use my chair just so I don't claw all my sheets off trying to get on the bed.
|
It was pretty high but I could jump it, getting down and being quiet about it was the hard part. My room was on the highest floor of my living building. It was fun on some days. Oh, and community washers/dryers suck in my opinion. So many kids just leave their clothes in there for like a week, by then you have to wash them again. Not to mention everyone pretty much used our laundry room even though is specifically assigned to our building of living. |
we only have 3 washers and 3 driers in my building. the girls are really quick to take your stuff out of the washer immediately after it's done if you're not there to do it and they need the washer. XD seriously, it takes me a minute or two to run downstairs! you don't need to handle my wet underwear! D:> plus I like leaving my clothes sitting in the warm drier for a few minutes because it helps that last bit of moisture dry out. last time, my whites sat for a few minutes and were perfectly dry, but I took my colors out immediately after the drier finished and I had to blow dry them the rest of the way. D:
|
Wow. xD; I remember one time someone got so pissed about wet clothes sitting in the washer for so long, the person actually threw them on the floor of the laundry room. It was funny but kind of weird to see wet clothes on the floor. And most likely he/she didn't get away with it because we had cameras in our laundry room. Lol. And if you have to blow dry your clothes dry, they need new dryers. xD; |
we have little rolley baskets to put clothes in, so they usually don't end up on the floor. but people do take them out and shove them in the rolley baskets all the time. they were all full today so I had to transport my wet laundry from washer to drier by hand. ;o;
I think part of the reason that my colors load didn't dry all the way was because it was 3 weeks worth of clothes in one load. XD |
I always had to carry my clothes from washer to dryer by hand. One time I had to load my wet clothes into my basket and take them to another laundry room, that was obnoxious. That might have been it, Lucid. xD; |
D: that sucks! we only have one laundry room, unless you count the ones at other dorm buildings, but we're only supposed to use the one in our own basement. the rolley baskets are pretty convenient, and it helps me remember to shake out my clothes before I shove them in the drier, so they don't get so balled up and wrinkly.

Well like I said, other people kept using our room. This was a big room assigned to three buildings but instead we were sharing it with six buildings because people were too lazy to use their own laundry room and the code for all the laundry rooms were the same... |
that's lame. why would people be too lazy to use their own? wouldn't it be closer to their building if it was meant for their building?
|
You would think that but no. |
how ridiculous. :C I'm glad the apartment I'm moving into in the spring has decent laundry facilities, or so I hear.
|
The thing I just thought was stupid was that school kept the code the same on every building. So any person who learned it could just wash their clothes in our room. :/ The thing was, this room was in the parking lot so it was easy for someone to just drive over and use it. Oh and it cost 4 quarters to use one dryer or washer. So each load cost 2 dollars. .-.; |
;o; ours costs 3 quarters to wash and 1 to dry, so only $1 a load. but there's no change machine...so even though I have lots of cash I only have enough money for one load. I need to find a change machine.
