@Grimalkin not at all! Just post your list of books read and I will then add you to the master list. Welcome.

I am going to update my list now.

Kaderin Triste 11-09-2017 02:44 AM

Ah, I finally finished another book. Now to decide which one to work on next...

Grimalkin 11-10-2017 05:48 PM

Grimalkin's Challenge 2017
Read a total of 50 books.

(Currently working on Death in the Clouds - Agatha Christie. I adore Poirot.)

trystan830 11-10-2017 06:07 PM

i read a number of books by Karen Marie Moning- i just don't remember which ones. it was many many years ago. =)

Grimalkin 11-10-2017 08:34 PM

I adore her works, everything I have read so far has been so well written and I cannot help but read and read, sometimes very late into the wee hours of the morning.

trystan830 11-10-2017 08:52 PM

that sounds like me with Sherrilyn Kenyon. she writes paranormal romance. =)

Grimalkin 11-13-2017 07:37 PM

I love her as well! I have a few of her novels. They are packed away at the moment (due to living with 13 people) but I adore her work too! Which books are your favourite?

trystan830 11-13-2017 07:55 PM

which Kenyon books are my favorite? gah, you're making me pick one?!?! LOL

Quiet Man Cometh 11-14-2017 02:59 AM

Last few weeks for class so I haven't been reading at all! The 2018 Challenge will be out and I'll still be working on 2016. Three challenges at a time then!

I am reading for my uni paper though, but more skimming so probably only getting 60% of the book or so. Currently flipping through Extra Lives: Why Video Games Matter by Tom Bissell.

Kaderin Triste 11-14-2017 05:46 PM

I think the only way I could actually achieve this years goal is if I counted the manga I've read...but I don't count those...

Quiet Man Cometh 11-14-2017 10:37 PM

If the goal was fanfiction, I'd already be done!

You could always fashion a challenge for yourself, perhaps pick some topics and try to find a manga to match. Or, make a list of what other people suggest, and try that!

Ooh! A thought! A Trisphee Reading Challenge for 2018: each participant adds 1 book (preferably not too long and not too hard to get a hold of) of their choice and everyone reads that list. It might be less of a 'get through the list' challenge, as the list would expand each time a new person joined a figure, but more of a book club thing, perhaps. A thought. ;)

Kaderin Triste 11-15-2017 01:12 AM

I don't really read that much manga, tbh, but I think I've read 5 or 6 this year. Not enough to justify making a challenge really.

I do like the book list idea though. Except I'd probably have to buy them to read them...

Grimalkin 11-15-2017 10:55 PM

Trystan you do not have to pick ONE. Maybe a series that you are incredibly fond of at the moment?

trystan830 11-15-2017 11:06 PM

well, i've always liked the Dark Hunter series. all of 'em. XD

I'm making more effort into getting my books from libraries now, to save on money and space. There are also online options now, especially for older material that is out of copyright or has become public domain. A friend of mine that reads a lot uses Project Gutenberg for old, free stuff to read online.

trystan830 11-16-2017 01:34 AM

>>Project Gutenberg

Pretty sure that's where my War and Peace is bookmarked from....
