That just means that it's "Sitting around a table, staring at each other while drinking beer." :P

And yes, D&D does lose something when it's not in person, but it's hard to find a group for that. (Especially when not very sociable.)

I am the operation's manager of a family run restaurant -- and though I only work 40 hours a week, Friday and Saturday are both 12 hour days and dang will that feel like a long time.

I haven't played D&D in forever.

Tohopekaliga 08-20-2012 03:30 PM

12 hour days are killer. D:

Sei 08-20-2012 03:35 PM

I can seriously relate. Some of my days are in the range of 14-16 hours. @w@;

Tohopekaliga 08-20-2012 03:37 PM

D: Geh. That's...terrible. Impressive to survive a work day that long, though.

I used to work upwards of 60 - 65 hours a week between two locations, but then they decided that I wasn't allowed both- and now I'm back to the one. And on occassion, the boss lady gets a tick up her butt and decides I'm only getting 30 hours that week. -.- for perhaps three months in a row...and pretends we're alright. So that's fun.

BUT RIGHT NOW WE'RE COOL SO YAY. *Runs away to such.*

Well, I work at a catering facility so our hours are by nature flexible and depend on the length of the party. Sometimes we're there early in the morning to finalize the event, work the eight hours of the event, and then have to flip it into another event when that one ends around midnight. Lots of changing details and heavy lifting. xP

Tohopekaliga 08-20-2012 04:05 PM

o.o Well...that just makes me glad I have a desk job. XD

...Though, I kinda wish I could just work at the summer camp I used to work for. That was a lot more fun.

Sei 08-20-2012 04:06 PM

I do wish I could find a desk job with more regular hours, but right now this job is paying the bills and until I can find another one, that's all that matters. *nodsnods*

Tohopekaliga 08-20-2012 04:10 PM

Yeah, having bills paid is definitely important!

Mal Kapwn 08-20-2012 04:13 PM

I was working 60+ before we switched locations and cut down on hours. In some ways I miss it because there was almost never any down time and I made a bit more money; having free time is important though I guess. I need to start college and I'll need time for classes.

Sei 08-20-2012 04:28 PM

Yeah, I was thinking about getting a second job, but my primary hours are too varied and I cannot do it without compromising my primary job. *nods*

Mal Kapwn 08-20-2012 04:30 PM

I live way out in the middle of nowhere and there aren't any other jobs available. In fact, if I start college, it will have to be online.

Tohopekaliga 08-20-2012 04:31 PM

Well, perhaps you could move to a college, and get a job around there?

Sei 08-20-2012 04:33 PM

I hope to go back to get my masters degree in something useful. Eventually. xP

Tohopekaliga 08-20-2012 04:36 PM

Usefulness is good. :P What's your bachelor's degree?
