We've officially turned the furnace on for the first time this season. it got down below freezing last night, so it was very needed.

I'm looking into finding some of those carve-able foam pumpkins because while I love carving pumpkins with peer group every year, we tend to do it the second week of October, and by the time Halloween rolls around, the pumpkin is looking very sad and I'm kinda getting tired of knowing I may have to chuck my jack early every year.

Yeah, I've been telling God thank You for the duvet, because this place gets chilly. The heater's clicking, but I can't feel heat when I put my foot on it. Still, it hasn't frozen in here, so it must be working.

I'm going to be out of town for a few days starting tomorrow. Don't know if I'll have time to look at email and stuff, since I'll be sharing a hotel room.

I'm working on some side projects for various games/streams I'm part of. character art, costume pieces, character playlists... stuff like that.

I'm here for two days, and then I'll be gone again for four. And I just found out for certain that I snore... apparently even when not sleeping on my back.

sad to say, three of the five trees on the property are in the process of being removed. The two ash trees have ash borer issues, and the sweet gum out front has been rotting away for years. The trees were all at *least* ten years old when my family moved to this house in 1996. Strange to think that at least one of us has lived at this location for 28 years.

awwww. I'm sorry. It's weird when familiar trees wind up gone. I know the feeling. Thinking I lived at that subsidized place for around twenty years still makes me boggle. And wonder how long I'll live here.

It's going to take some getting used to, not having the trees there. but at least it means the risk of a limb falling on the house has been reduced severely. We still have two trees in the back yard, one of which has dropped two big limbs on the house in the past five years (one went through our kitchen window a few years back, the other bounced off the roof earlier this year). That one is going to be trickier to deal with since the boom truck won't be able to get all the way up to it the way they could the other trees.
