*tapes espy to the thread* I'm sure I have no idea what you mean.

daikokunyo 12-01-2019 10:19 AM

i do need enough to work with to make the next post in an rp, but sometimes that can be resolved through ooc. like, we decide to timeskip. or agree for me to write something in the next post that isn't already entirely set up in the rp itself, but we agree that we need to go in that direction in the ooc.

i find even the rps i do with longer posts don't necessarily give me enough to work with to make a post that'll make the rp actually move forward. if you can only write what's already been written, it takes ages to get anywhere. and it's boring, too. like, it's important not to break rp etiquette, but that doesn't have to be constraining when all you need to do is discuss where you're heading.

Natsunaine 12-01-2019 12:53 PM

I agree, but on the same page I feel like there have been times I have given other so much to go on, To only get a few lines that felt like they just rushed something together ;_; I am very patient when it comes to waiting for posts, Like I rather wait three days for a good post than 30 mins for something rushed. I tell that to everyone I rp with and yet sometimes I feel they dont get that. Lol

daikokunyo 12-02-2019 12:20 PM

hmm yeah i've faced that too. sometimes talking about how you don't want rushed responses doesn't help. because sometimes it's not rushed, it's just how they rp. it happens pretty often that your styles of rping just don't mesh and in such cases it's better to amicably part ways... but dropping rps is always hard to do TT

Natsunaine 12-07-2019 06:10 PM

Oh no, I understand that, but this particular situation is after we have been in a rp for a while, I can understand towards the beginning not everyone works together and some work out well, in fact there used to be a user here named rosekitten her and I had a long rp going. In said to we posted constant 10+ paragraph walls and at times it would be weeks before one of us posted but we loved that rp. We could do that because we meshed.

daikokunyo 12-08-2019 07:12 AM

i love it when my style meshes with someone else's too :f-veryhappy: and i love it when an RP develops so richly. and when both writers are committed to the RP so that even if it takes a while they always come back to it.

ohh so if that situation was after you had been RPing for a while, and you knew that they COULD respond in the RP the way you expected them to? or that by then they should've known what you expected? it was not just a clash of your styles? (did they respond better in the beginning/ show that they could respond in kind to your more thought-out posts?)

Natsunaine 12-08-2019 08:10 AM

Most of the time it's in roleplay that have been long going, like months etc. Like I have seen the kind of posts they can make from the things I have given them. I mean i know at times an rp gets dry or needs a rework story wise, but the one lines are not needed x.x

daikokunyo 12-08-2019 12:12 PM

exactly. when an RP gets dry or my partner is finding it difficult to make substantial posts that move it forward, i expect them to discuss it with me!! so that we can figure out how to smoothen it out again together! not just post one-liners :s-ugh:

i feel like the higher amount of aurum earned for longer posts in the RP forum here should be an encouragement to write more detailed thought-out posts (or does any post in the RP forum earn the higher amount of aurum regardless of length? i'm sure longer posts earn more even outside of the RP forum here, right?) at any rate, i've made an RP search thread here on Trisphee, so fingers crossed my search goes well :f-prettybow:

Natsunaine 12-13-2019 03:50 PM

It's not as big as you think after a certain amount of lines I believe the growth rate slows down or caps. I cannot remember but I do know I believe the most I've gotten is like 60 au.

daikokunyo 12-14-2019 05:42 AM

Yeah, true, I've experienced that. And I can make that much au by simply doing two small posts anywhere on the site instead of one longer, effortful RP post. I know, but somehow getting that boosted au after doing my best to write an RP post well and hitting submit once I'm satisfied... it feels really good xD

Natsunaine 12-16-2019 09:50 PM

I know what you mean, I feel good about it for a second but then reality sets in and I feel sad lol

daikokunyo 12-22-2019 09:24 AM

oh no don't feel sad :f-please: regardless of aurum, a nice juicy RP post is an achievement in itself!

Stabbsworth 12-22-2019 02:53 PM

yee.

it's pretty hard for me to make longer posts tbh, mostly because my, uh. i tend to rely on the quicker posting in IRC-style chats tbh.

Natsunaine 12-24-2019 06:37 AM

I need to find motivation to post here more. .n.

Lawtan 12-24-2019 10:10 AM

Oh! Hey, Natsu!

Natsunaine 12-24-2019 04:02 PM

*stuffs Lawtan in a magic box* ouo oh hi dar
