oh yuck^^:

SinX_franz 10-07-2011 07:41 AM

Rotten Apples? YUCK!!! Shame on Wal-Mart.

Yokuutsu 10-07-2011 10:36 AM

I shouldn't have to check the expiration date on shit I'm buying. They should be keeping up with that one.

littl3chocobo 10-07-2011 01:00 PM

you should /always/ check, in the end /you/ are the only one responcible for your mouth and what goes past it

Fey 10-07-2011 03:19 PM

And even stuff that's not past it's expiration can go bad...which we tend to forget with all the preservatives we cram into everything now a days.

DarkForbidden-Love 10-07-2011 03:37 PM

A tip for Wal-Mart shoppers: Always check the stuff in the back first, Wal-Mart employees are supposed to put the new things behind the old stuff, so the old stuff will be sold. Also, Wal-Mart stockers are usually pulled from other places so the old and new gets mized together and the old stuff never gets thrown out.

littl3chocobo 10-07-2011 03:38 PM

actually ours tosses stuff often but the rest is acuurate

DarkForbidden-Love 10-07-2011 03:41 PM

The two near me try to throw stuff out, but it gets mixed with the new stuff. We have Christmas stuff from two years ago in the storage area in the back. *Shudders* Glad I'm not an unloader.

littl3chocobo 10-07-2011 03:45 PM

oh yuck^^: only our fron't-end candy ever has a problem with expiration dates

DarkForbidden-Love 10-07-2011 03:48 PM

Front end candy has never been a problem here. And our backery is very good about experation dates, thank goodness. But the unloaders and the people who are supposed to check our stock are untrained and have no idea what they are doing.

Yokuutsu 10-07-2011 11:54 PM

@littl3chocobo

Well, with that stance....they shouldn't throw out any food then. Since it's up to us to beware. And them to just be greedy bastards. When we buy things at a store, we're not just paying for the item, we're also paying for a service which in a grocery store means checking your inventory that's out for sale more than once every two weeks or more. Especially when it is an item that spoils quickly like dairy or fruit (compared to other things-such as canned items and pasta)

Damn those greedy ruthless hearthless bastards who just think of money not the welfare of the costumers.

It is ultimately up to you, but because of safe and standard laws they have to do their best, but sometimes it happens. Plus, some food often goes bad before the dates, and some is safe afterwards.
my Wal-Mart is usually pretty good with stock going in and out so unless it falls hidden under a shelf, most everything is good.

Yokuutsu 10-08-2011 07:11 PM

Well, it was expired by a couple of weeks and was up front. Which makes me think they don't check for expiration dates...let alone actually looking at the dates.

No, it's up to them if the food isn't free....or the exact same price they paid for it. Which it isn't. They got it cheaper so I am paying a premium for their service. For that premium, I at least expect them to throw out expired shit. Unless they want to get sued when I get sick from it someday.

There is always plenty for employees to do in a store.

Rumiel 10-10-2011 04:06 AM
