@ Odin: Thats idiotic; but thanks to the English, and an international best seller, Lolita is now a international term for a Scarlet woman, rather than a womans name.

Le sigh it is a never ending quest. Upon which like all ridiculous heroines -does an exasperated romance cover stare- I shall give myself to the heathen that stole my pride from me.

XD Oh I love how things are never what you expect them to be, like how Anime is actually a french yet every one thinks of Japan.

Cronislee 12-06-2010 05:30 AM

Anime isnt really regulated to a single territory, and is another name for animation, so on and so forth. But anyway, I'm heading out everyone.

Poggio 12-06-2010 05:42 AM

Daw, I liked your avatar before you changed it. It was nice being able to see your pants XD.

Sir_Odin 12-06-2010 06:08 AM

sorry zoned out

Poggio 12-06-2010 06:12 AM

Its okay, I am doing hw. I am debating if I should do the colors for this image now or later.
Are you waiting up for your special lady again?

Anime is regulated to its origins in Sushiland, but the word itself derives from the french l'animé, the accent specifying that the E at the end is not silent. And since its japanese, they have a habit of adopting words from other languages and creating their own version of it.

Corovignh 12-06-2010 08:37 AM

Poggio 12-06-2010 08:47 AM

@Coro- .... Actually, it's derived from the word 'animation' or アニメーション (a-ni-me-e-sh-o-n) in Japanese, but they shortened it to 'anime' or アニメ (a-ni-me) sometime in the 70's. And yes, while the term 'anime' in English usually refers to Japanese animation, in Japanese it refers to any animation (it's just an abbreviated form of the word).

Poggio 12-06-2010 04:58 PM

Ultima, Coros definition was from Etymology.com
I trust it more then the Anime News network.
