why would you be in trouble?

Because my mom is an old foggy and is almost completely of the mindset of 'children should be seen, not heard' when in public. If I take out my cellphone or handheld system at a restaurant while waiting to be served she yells at us, telling us to put it away so that we can have dinner as a 'family'. Reason why I state it that way is because whenever we do try talking to spend time as a 'family' she angrily tells us to be quote because we talk about 'stupid' shit to her, which is usually about video games. Reason being is because she finds them stupid and us stupid for playing them. Or at least for as much as we play them, but then we don't really have anything else to talk about because we've already told her anything there was interesting that's happened by that point. And when my brother asks what drinks the place has if its not on the menu she gets mad at him, saying he's stupid and that he knows what drinks are served there because he's been there numerous times. That is usually incorrect because these places we go to with her we maybe visit once or twice in an entire year. =.=;

My mother would have smiled and hugged back unless she was feeling ill - then she'd ask to be left alone with a sad smile. Dad would complain as he was raised on the strict "seen, not heard" policy. *Hugs ML* |
So Lawton knows exactly what I mean. ^^; And she's the same way basically when company is over too! When friends of the family come over and they go to play a game, the guests will say yes while my mom has a fit and tells me no, to go hole up in my room like I normally do. Needless to say we haven't had a game night in YEARS for our family. Mostly because my mom got fend up of losing to us most of the time. >>; Then again this is a person who has trouble doing basic math as well. =.=; Not to mention we have to explain things five times to her and show her proof that we're right for her to understand what we're saying. Like when I was telling her how to get some place. She argued with me for fifteen minutes on the route even though I explained it five times. She didn't understand it until I got home and drew her a map. =.=; Worst part is most of the directions were for roads she's taken before! And it was really simple, she jus had to go out onto the one road that she knows, make a right turn onto another road she's been on, and then drive straight for a LONG time. After that there's this crosswalk bridge thing she drives under and at the light after that she makes a left into the plaza before that next light. Literally 2-3 turns, all but the last she's done before. And then when she was repeating the directions back to me she kept saying it backwards no mater how many times I corrected her. T-T And she wonders why I don't like driving with her in the car nor why I quit asking to play games with her.

I told her 'It's special ok? Lots of people do sports and I don't and I have to have SOMETHING to show I've done and moderating is something people are usually PAID for!' She was like 'So?' and that's one of those stupid phrases you can't say ANYTHING to. I go to my Dad practically crying and tell him I've been made a Mod and what she thinks and he was like 'She doesn't understand about these things.' I was super pumped and went and told my Mom and she was like 'Yeah, see?' because she thought he was talking about ME xD I was like 'He means YOU. Do you even know what moderating is?' After going on at me about my 'tone' it turns out she thinks it's posting in the middle while people post on forums. I can't imagine how she thought that different from what regular users do, or how she thought people got paid for that xD Really pisses me off that she could dismiss me like that without knowing anything about it though! |
Yep, sounds exactly like my mom. There was a guy into lolis that was hitting on me and trying to make me date him. I told my mom and she's like 'You should have said yes!' Then I told her he was into that and she had no clue, so I explained it to her. Needless to say she changed her tune real quick. >>;

Well, everyone was talking about the new items and I was just trying to add to the conversation. ^^; I actually didn't realize posting items were added, thought everyone was talking about the crane items actually. o///o
