*Shakes AutobotDen* Don't worry about that bit. I am trying to get things together to open up opportunities...

I just wish I knew what to do.

Den 07-08-2014 01:58 PM

*is shaken* Awk!!!! *Shaken Den Syndrome*

Fauxreal 07-08-2014 02:01 PM

Is steampunk mecha animated movie, where they heard about the arch duke being assassinated and went to shoot martians instead of each other.

And... *big hug* *and a lot of sympathy* No way of moving out?

@Tam: I really hope it's not that. Though I haven't seen any more bites since the other day, which leads me to think it was either a mosquito, or a chigger from when I went to watch crap get blown up last Friday. (some friends and I went to a lake near where one of them lives, and we walked across grass to get to where stuff was being set up to be blown up). Also, that show/movie(?) sounds interesting, just for what you posted about it.

Sounds like just a skeeter. *relieved*

XD It's not too bad. They avoided some of the common idiocies of animation aimed at adults. Thought apparently the director's cut version has Adam Baldwen's character flip the bird at a tripod just before it heat rays him.

*sympathy!* *but can't help laughing as I think of the progress of your posts over the span of the kids' visit*

Lawtan 07-08-2014 06:14 PM

O.o Shaken Den Syndrome? *stops shaking Den*

Not really...at least not until I can get enough to find something where I can continue what I am working on. Even then, I'd have to worry about my mother, and him. (he has proven unstable before...and he is military/gun obsessed)

*Tries to gather fauxreal's kids up for storytelling. Chance of failure 98.5%*

Den 07-08-2014 07:08 PM

Oh, dear. *worries about Lawtan and Lawtan's Ma*

Tam I am 07-09-2014 01:51 PM

*hugs Law again* :/

Lawtan 07-09-2014 07:09 PM

*Is hugged to death by Tam*

Thanks...I don't mean to be such a downer...

Tam I am 07-10-2014 01:44 PM

Eeep! *pokes zombie Lawtan* Watch out. Now Den's going to hug you to LIFE!

And don't worry. You're not.

Den 07-10-2014 01:50 PM

Zombie Law! *uses a Phoenix Down, then Life, then Curaga to restore Lawtan to the land of the living with full HP*

Lawtan 07-10-2014 03:28 PM

Thank you, you two. That made me smile. :D

I needed that *hugs AutobotDen and Tam I am*

Tam I am 07-10-2014 04:19 PM

Lawtan 07-11-2014 11:28 AM

*Hauls in a board game*
Java Settlers of Catan, anyone?

(Under Misc. Purring Shelf)

Tam I am 07-11-2014 02:33 PM

*wistful sigh* I really miss playing board games.

Den 07-11-2014 06:39 PM

*makes a note to bring board games with her when she comes up next year to visit Tam* Any preferences for games?

Lawtan 07-11-2014 08:32 PM

As a note, Tam, the link is to an online version of a popular boardgame.

Kilala Mikal 07-12-2014 01:27 AM

*pokes in momentarily*

Sorry I haven't been around the last few days. Been planning and prepping for a party tomorrow, and it's been really hectic around here. Hopefully things will calm down after tomorrow (at least until Wednesday), and I'll be a more regular face again.

Also, hi all! *passes around treats and tasty drinks that I snagged from the Cafe when Faux wasn't looking* XD

Tam I am 07-12-2014 05:20 PM

Ooo. Wish I had more time for online games. LOL

*noms the noms Kiki gave me* Danke

I like 'Battleship', but I've never played anything more modern than that and a version of 'Trouble' (which was also fun). So surprise me. You know the themes I avoid and all that.

Lawtan 07-12-2014 05:56 PM

Speaking of...

Vassal - the Opensource Free Board Game Engine

Tam I am 07-13-2014 02:15 PM

XD DIY computer boardgames?

*pokes Lawtan with my avatar's flower*

Den 07-13-2014 05:35 PM

So pretty much the games I used to love as a kid. Gotcha. :)

Tam I am 07-14-2014 02:02 AM

LOL

Just went poking around in the shops and discovered more clothing sets. Not sure I want to try saving for any.

Hey, has anyone got the full Sarya set, so I can see it? I hardly ever see it in the crane game, and I'm curious.

*points to what her av has on* It's a three piece set. Top, pants, boots.

Kilala Mikal 07-14-2014 12:28 PM

I've got the Sarya's bundle achievement, so here's what I've got in my inventory with Sarya in it on an av.

I went ahead and did it in purple, if you want to see the other colors, let me know.

[I was in the process of fixing my av, and saving it to pb, so I didn't see that someone had already posted XD]

Thanks, guys!

So I just need to get the top. Looks like a comfortable and nerdly outfit.

*Looks around library*
...quiet as the grave...I like it...MUAHAHAHAHA

Tam I am 07-17-2014 03:01 PM

*comes tip toeing in*

*NOISE*

:D

Lawtan 07-17-2014 04:13 PM

So, how are you, Tam?

Tam I am 07-17-2014 05:12 PM

Fervently grateful for the cool, rainyish weather today, even though it hasn't cleared up the smoke. You?

Lawtan 07-17-2014 05:18 PM

Tired and about to fall asleep...

3...2...1...ZZZZzzzzzz.....

(Is not feeling good for no reason I know of, so hoping to sleep it off)

Also, I am adding a climate/geological site to the library...umm, considering the possibility of the FCC allowing for anti-net neutrality (in other words, allowing internet to be treated like cable - sanctioned off into bundles and the like)...I may be trying to save as many of these resources as possible...

Tam I am 07-17-2014 05:55 PM

...Into bundles. What???

Den 07-17-2014 06:00 PM

Ah, yeah. that stupid thing with the FCC. If they have their way, the rest of us get screwed over.

Also, Lawtan... Ever hear of a paradox smoothie? :3

Lawtan 07-17-2014 08:06 PM

From my Facebook post on it:

...as an additional note, it was the Courts who said the FCC could make the rules in the first place...

FCC on the situation

Hyperbole of a world without open internet (without "net neutrality")

EFF Foundation on it

Forbes on the Issue

Tam I am 07-18-2014 12:04 AM

0_0 This is the first time I've heard of any of this.

Den 07-18-2014 11:00 PM

We've been fighting crap like this for at least the past year to year and a half, really.

Lawtan 07-18-2014 11:31 PM

*Hugs the Autobot* Save us, Den! XD

I know. I think that was what I was trying to talk about earlier, but as I couldn't find sources, it wound up in confusion.

...In truth, the more I understand it, the more it seems like something people are trying to navigate so it doesn't crash, but without a way to actually do so. They are trying to reword it to get the same result as the one the court rejected (That was beneficial to "net neutrality"), but with "nicer words."
There is a push for it being governmentalized, and there is a push to let it be like cable TV, and both groups are avoiding the actual document itself. (Typical socio-political shenanigans)

Tam I am 07-19-2014 02:09 PM

So WHAT exactly are they trying to do? What do you mean, "Like cable"? Not having TV, and never having had cable in my life, I might be missing the obvious in what you're saying.

Lawtan 07-19-2014 06:58 PM

The cable companies (AT&T, Comcast, Verizon, etc...control phone, cable TV, and internet broadband) are able to only offer certain television channels to their clients - the channels have to pay them for the benefit of being able to show to viewers in certain areas. Also, like health insurance, most cable companies have monopoly-like control over areas, they can fine-tune and control what people view.

With the current/possibly past internet, the policy avoiding such things has led to a less controlled/financially viable market for them. The argument is thus: for them to continue to improve internet connection, among other things, they would like something closer to what they have with cable.

Kilala Mikal 07-20-2014 12:55 PM

Ugh! *flops into library exhausted*
