The others motions were missed by the Pyce entirely and the man merely shook his head. "I will give some to Adrian too for taking care of Agamemnon." He reached out and grabbed the other by his arm and pulled him off the bench. "It is steak, potatoes and some hard lemonade." He hit the other in his stomach "If you don't think you can stomach it we can go to Al's fishery again."
he made a face. "the only thing that tasted good there was you and even that was covered in fish grease, no more of that." the other made a noise which he chose to ignore and they made their way back to the maybach
It felt odd having the other in his home for the second time, even more odd that his dog was comfortable with him. He turned his attention to his dinner pulling his rarely used utensils from their dusty hiding spots and on to the counter. Galvin served up two thick slabs of grilled meat along with some creamy potatoes. “Well go on and try it, and don't feed any to my dog, he only gets the bones if he behaves.” Before slicing into his own meal he retrieved his six pack from the refrigerator. He popped both the lids on the counter and placed one infront of the other. “Don't you get tired having sex every night?” He said forking some potatoes and butter into his mouth.
the set-up was strange like something from television and it was both uncomfortable and depressing to be a part of it, he made a face. "no i do not, is this what you do when i am not around or is the setting entirely contrived?"
It was Galvins turn to bark a laugh. “Forgive me, I thought Galileo proved it wasn't a Garagin-centric world.” He went to eating his food highly amused at the other. “It is.” Galvin said answering both questions at once. “Don't your other lovers invite you in for dinner? I thought you said Cirro took you out?”
he made another face though this time he turned to the other to share it. "yes but this is nothing like that, it is dark and depressing and the food is still in the pot and nothing has been cleaned"
He looked around seeing nothing wrong with the way things were. His shoulders rose and fell in a shrug and he sliced into a another piece of meat. "So?"
a thousand replies made themselves know right away but seeing the other's compleate lack of thought on the matter made him think twice about answering and letting the uncomfortable silence fall he too up the cutlery to slice his dinner into more manageable pieces
Galvin growled and stilled Ambrosia's hand. "Stop. Just stop." Shaking his head he removed his hand. He felt as if some how he had been insulted by the mans looks and simple statements. "I don't understand why my house condition and life style matters, when I never intended to invite you into it. Since you want Rent tonight I thought it would be easier to have dinner here instead of wasting money. So tell me what is wrong with having the food still in the pot and why my house feels depressing?"
he was not expecting the outburst and the bite of it shocked him. "i...it does not matter, next week we will go somewhere else to eat. you do not have to cook anymore"
It seemed the other missed the point entirely. Galvin just plucked the steak knife from the counter and slammed it squarely into the middle of Ambrosia chunk of meat. His own plate was removed from the counter and dumped into the refrigerator. “And you are never allowed back into my house again.” He said. “Finish your dinner so we can leave.”
he still had not moved from where the other left him when the man finally came out clean from his shower. by then his words had returned to him and the snark too, he sneered. "i have finished eating, where to now?"
Galvin pursed his lips together watching the other blatantly lie to him. He walked over to the counter, nothing had changed. He turned and looked at the other with furious and disappointed eyes. “Ambrosia, Leave and do not come back.” He jerked the plate from its spot and walked over to the trash throwing the entire thing inside. From there he walked over to his bed and flopped on it. The bounce on the springs summoned his dog to join him, and the large beast curled up in his usual resting spot.
he stayed sitting until he was certain the other would not come back and standing straight he headed in the direction the man pyce had gone. he found the other curled in bed with the dog and an unusual twinge of pity momentary passed through him. saying nothing he kicked off his shoes and climbed awkwardly into the bed. wrapping his arms around the other he barked a laugh as he was asked what he was expecting for rent and let the man know he was not asking tonight, when pyce tried to shove him away he only pulled the man tighter and quickly pyce relented
Galvin tried to fight it, but for all his rude obsessiveness, he realized the man never failed to be correct. His apartment was dark and depressing, and he truly did, simply just wanted to be touched. He balled up all of his thoughts in a hatred for this man and the continual shame he brought. It was soon overlapped by the warmth of his continual touch. When he finally fell asleep the deep shade of night was growing lighter.
He checked his watch, the others bike was not always a guarantee his brother was home, but he thought he'd take a chance. He pounded on the door, if his brother was not home, he would at least make sure his dog was taken care off. |
the silence was only broken by soft breathing from the man and the occasional snuffling snore from the dog so when the pounding took up he was nearly asleep himself. jerking awake he listened to the sound of flesh on wood for several more seconds before leaving the bed and going to answer the door
