I haven't done as much reading since I left school. I burned myself out on dense books I think. I believe the last one I finished was The Magus, by John Fowles. It was a fascinating read, but in my opinion it should have ended 160 pages before it did. It might just be that I'm a jaded reader though, a little. Let's see, underground cult of psychiatrists holding mock court in halloween costumes...yeah, and?
That's the last one I recall finishing becasue it took me so long to get through those last pages. Same with Return of the King. Took me several years to get through that. I was halfway through the first book when the first Jackson movie came out. Fortunately, my reading memory is good. |
On the Road by Jack Karouac.
|
I've been powering through Martin's Song of Ice and Fire lately, on Storm of Swords, now. Before that I read Steven Erikson's The Crippled God, which was fantastic.
|
I recently finished reading "The Way of the Shadows" by Brent Weeks.
|
"A Child al Confino" By Eric Lamet
It's an autobiography about a kid and his mom escaping the Nazis by flees in to Italy. Getting back to fantasy now though. |
The last book I read was Evermore: The Immortals by Alyson Noel. It's a series and it's really really good. :)
Kinda a fantasy novel I believe, and it's more aimed at teengers or young adults so not that hard to understand. |
Dr. Franklin's Island.
It was an .. interesting book. xD |
I just recently finished reading The Grapes of Wrath. (and for school that is xD)
|
Oh God that's hard question since it's been a WHILE since Iread a book for either school or for fun...I think it was [non-manga] The Stepford Wives (short book with large texts, it was a book of disappointment, I didn't like it, too slow in the beginning then as you keep reading it keeps going more faster without having much of a plot, then at the end it went too fast that I had to read the last part in the end to get it and the town won over the person. I still think they brain washed the women, no robots or anything like that.
The movie was switching what happened to the wives from being brainwashed to being robots that pops out money like an ATM machine from their stomachs |
Under the Dome by Stephen King. I had been reading a lot of fluffy books recently and this one was really great after all of those.
|
╔═════════════════════════════════╗ (。◕‿◕。) David Eddings Pawn of Prophecy. ╚═════════════════════════════════╝ |
The last book I read, is the one Hermes is currently reading. xD;
Bone Gods;; Caitlin Kittredge I sent him all three books. Bahaha. |
I just reread Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis. One of the few books I can actually stand to reread over and over. |
Bruiser by Neal Shusterman
It was real good, I enjoyed it. ~nod~ |
I just finished "Storm Front" by Jim Butcher, the first novel in The Dresden Files. I loveeed it..and am now reading "Fool Moon", the second in the series.
|
The last book I read was Harvest Hunting by Yasmine Galenorn. It's the 8th book in the series and I'm in the middle of the 9th one now. There are still more books to come. xD
|
The last book I finished reading was Twilight by Stephenie Meyer.
|
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë
|
The last book I finished would have to be Canada: Story of the True North Strong and Free,it was a very interesting book to say the least.
|
A Study in Scarlet by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
That was forever ago. Good lord, I need to start reading more. I don't understand how I went from reading an average of three or four books a week to just not wanting to read at all, but I wish I'd get back into the voracious reader state of mind. I like reading. Why won't my brain let me concentrate on it? :C |
Green Eyed Envy, but I can't remember the author's name right off. It is the second in a series.
|
The last book I finished reading would be Inkheart by Cornelia Funke. I've read it many times before, but I always seem to read it and it's predecessor again and again. C:
|
Dragon's Oath by PC and Kristin Cast
|
Holes. Lol
|
The last book I read was Midnighters, the second one. I don't know their indivual names... Or even the author. x:
But I'm nearly done with the third and last now. :3 |
Vampirates: Blood Captain.
The more I read the series, the more I don't think it should've been placed in the kids section at Barnes and Noble. lol |
The last book I finished was Tongues of Serpents , the sixth book in the His Majesty's Dragon series by Naomi Novik . I can't wait until Crucible of Gold is released next year ... <33
|
The last book I read is The Ask and The Answer by Patrick Ness, the second book of the Chaos Walking trilogy. <3 It's so amazing, and sad and and *tries not to spoil*
I am now currently reading Dancing with the Devil by Keri Arthur, the first book of the Nikki and Michael series (or something like that) |
I just finished reading The Perks Of Being A Wall Flower
last night. ^^ I started it the day before. It was- Good~ |
Black Butler VI
|
Last Book
The last book I finished was Impulse. It was a book that was writed in poetry style about three teens who where locked up on suicide attempts. Could have been better written but it was an okay book. The author made the characters seem to unemotional at the very end but I enjoyed it.:) A friend of mine is trying to convince my to read Maximum Ride, not sire if I shouls though.
|
The one I most recently finished was the first volume of the Game of Thrones novels :D It was really good and I was surprised that the TV series kept to the books almost perfectly :D

Haha. I actually had to think on this. What's the last book I finished?
Mortal Fear (A Buffy the Vampire Slayer paperback) but I had to think about it because I finished two books last night. It wasn't the best BtVS book I've read. It wasn't terrible or anything but I found about half a dozen typos or incorrect usages of words like were instead of where. That stuff bugs me. The story was good enough but the lack of proofing bothered me. Especially since it was a co-authored book. Two people wrote this and no one caught these errors? And it was professionally published so it's someone's job to catch that stuff and they didn't do it. |
I've been neglecting this, lol! xD
The last book I finished is "Shaman" by Noah Gordon. And it's absolutely stunning. It sure won't leave my mind for a while longer. Everything is amazing about it - the language, the writing style, all those tiny details to characters, to world. It is like he has been there, and like he is taking reader with him again, in a way. The characters are fully fleshed out and I think it keeps to history in amazing way. It's one of reasons why I love historical fiction genre. It, by no means, is not an easy book, but its left impact is a good one. |
Rainy!! I just finished this book call The Neighbor.
I mentioned it in the what are you currently reading thread and said it was really good so far but it got even better! I actually got a little bit mad when I realized I was getting toward the end. Heh. I wish that book had been longer. |
The author, please? xD And I mostly can get and read books that are translated and published in my country. D8 And some oldd ones I can manage to get for free in internet. >.<;
