i actually like the smell of books, to be fair though i have a habit af very nearly touching them when i read sometimes hahaha, kind of hard not to under that circumstance

I used to hate the smell of some kid's books because to me they smelled like poop. >:/ and I was upset that the book smelled like poop because then the scent was distracting. I thought adults made poop-scented books to trick us into something like, reading in the bathroom or something.

But I loved the books that smelled old. :D There was this series of old fairy tale books with scratchy 3-D holographic covers. I miss those, but I don't think anyone else knows about them. <:/ I think I only read Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood, and maaayyybe The Snow Queen? <:/ *shrug*

books that smell like that tend to be the ones with a loooot of skin grease on them so probably there is at least a little muck on them, statistically anyway

Never encountered a book smelling like poop, but I know some indeed smelled odd. Must be the paper or maybe the glue, because a former classmate of mine had a binder with that very same smell.

Wow. Sketchy/spoopy and cute! We don't get interesting illustrations like that anymore.

Clowns... um. I don't mind pictures, but keep the real ones out of my face. LOL

If you like stop motion and puppets, Heather Henson's Handmade Puppet Dreams might be worth looking into if you can find a way to watch it.
