I dunno, Nana and Deathnote kicked ass, tho I never read Deathnote, Nana followed the manga almost word for word.

Nah having read and watched both of them I can safely say no. There is a lot more rape in the manga and the movie tones down a lot of the graphic killing. It also condenses the time in which they stay on the island. Not only that but there is a sequel to the movie.

I loved the Deathnote live action movies =0 ... Well, the first two anyway. Didn't really care for the 'spin-off' =/

Also Cron I remembered a worse live action movie. Look up the trailer for a movie called Tokyo Gore Police. After the first hour its pretty lawzy though.
