Very beautiful art O.O I especially love the headshot, the shading is amazing! And the hair just looks fantastic!

Which software did you use? Photoshop?

Moonless Midnight 06-22-2011 10:48 AM

Lucifer 06-22-2011 10:50 AM

Hey Lucifer ^_^ Your art is cute XD

Nefer 06-22-2011 10:53 AM

Lol, I see, I gotta use my tablet more, it's getting dusty since I bought it, stupid University asked for all my time so I barely drew/painted anymore...

And your pixel art is cute too, it makes me think of those paper dolls my mother used to have when she was a child (the type where you add pieces of clothing over the naked doll by folding the tabs of the clothes under the body of the doll). And once again...I love the shading of the hair on the blue one, I'm a fangirl when it comes to hair shading it appears xD

@Lucifer: Very cute ^^ I gotta go check something for my mom, I shall comment more in a couple of minutes lol.

Lucifer 06-22-2011 10:55 AM

*Wiggles about and hugs the both of them* My art is rather rusty, I haven't been able to draw much, because I have carpal tunnel and my tablet hurts my hand :C

Moonless Midnight 06-22-2011 11:01 AM

@Nefer: Thanks, and I only draw alot at the moment cause it's summer >.<

@Lucifer: I can understand that though for me it's my shoulders that hurt from leaning forward to much and not sitting properly when I work on commissions >.<

Nefer 06-22-2011 11:04 AM

Alright, back, sorry about that ^^;
Ok, well first of all the facial features on your second pic are really cute, I love that style ^^ And whoa, carpal tunnel and yet you can draw like this? I'm envious now O.O

As for the 1st pic...Orange haired guy? I...don't see any orange haired guy ^^;

It's not too bad, I've learned to deal with it since I am a 'maintenance associate' at walmart and work with my hands for a living, it overall is fine just ends up hurting at the end.
And the Orange haired guy, the upper right corner with tan skin and grey eyes?

Nefer 06-22-2011 11:11 AM

Ahhh, ok... I kinda see...purple hair ^^; But as I already said on the 2nd pic, I love the facial features style on that one too, especially the mouth O.O

And youch...I'm a programmer/tester, so I don't think I'd be able to live with it ^^;

@Moon: Well, at least you draw something, the only I draw nowadays are cosplay pieces I'll need for my future cosplay like Catherina's crosses and Faris's clothes pieces, lol.

Oh, and the heck with it, here, that's how I draw (it's EXTREMELY old though, warning xD):

Lucifer 06-22-2011 11:12 AM

Nefer should draw more~ :3 and maybe the pic is transparent, I am not sure.. ._.

Nefer 06-22-2011 11:17 AM

Ahah, ya I should...but I always end up not finishing my work when I do, I'm always busy with either school (well, at least that's over now...) or finishing a cosplay piece... *look at her right and see unfinish Sephiroth shoulder armor modifications*

Plus, I take a while to draw something, I usually draw it on paper, then scan it, THEN use photoshop and my wacom tablet to redraw the outlines and add layers for the shading/lightning/colors/background ^^;

Lucifer 06-22-2011 11:19 AM

Nothing wrong with that, or you can like.. find a pirated (or buy) paint tool sai it has a REALLY good lineart layer you can do.. o3o;;

(Also the pics I drew earlier were on the iscribble online drawing program and I didn't use any blur tool, I made each shade of color and drew ti there :3)

Nefer 06-22-2011 11:24 AM

Well, I have photoshop, that's why I said I use the computer to add layers ^^ But uh ya, sometimes I manage to remake the lineart really quickly if there's not too many 'eraser and hand passing over the HB pencil marks', but it usually take a while so it depends on how I'm feeling lol.

And wow...All colors were drew seperatly? O.O Personally I usually use the alpha (transparency) feature of the pencil/brush and add multiple lines over/under the color I want to darken/lighten, it gives a smooth effect whenever I don't feel like drawing anime like with all it's 'sudden change of shading' look ^^;

Lucifer 06-22-2011 11:35 AM

The program online I doodled those with only has a smudge/blur tool and color, but it DOES have an area pickup so you can do two colors, put it in the middle of them and then it'll absorb them and make an in between so I can do all of one or so shading type, fill it in and then make newer shades of in between...
