Nikko, whether you win or not, you'll still get wonderful challenges and learn new avatar-making skills and have FUN! so you should totally join. I joined a contest on Gaia once, not expecting to win, but looking to hone my skills and learn from other experienced avatar makers. I ended up winning because I had improved so much throughout the course of the contest.
